Ashes of Kama: EX Parvati is a calm goddess, weak at fighting. However, it does not mean that her heart too, is weak. Her heart that think of the one she loves is stronger and its depth deeper than any manner of god. If it is for the sake of those she loves, even if she should break her body or burn away her divinity, she will muster the strength to fight. Even if it is only a blaze for a brief moment, she is comparable to the goddess of destruction Kali, one of Shiva's wife. Worthy of mention is the fact that it has nothing to do with how what Shiva feels towards her. Parvati holds the special characteristic of being able to foster her love towards someone, even if said person seems to ignore her. It is a wholehearted love but, it's a bit... no, legendary level of heavy. Moreover, Kama holds the meaning of love, but it also is the name of the god of love that Shiva burned to death. During his ascetic practice, Shiva had been ceaselessly ignoring Parvati, who had been sent to become Shiva’s wive. The exasperated gods then had sent Kama, disturbing Shiva’s meditation using Kama’s arrow, so that he would notice Parvati.[1]

It’d be nice if they finally addressed that shiva and Parvati actually did try to fix things with kama and it’s more that servant kama is summoned in the state of being constantly burned as well as being mixed with buddhist concepts that’s causing the issues with her. It kind of sucks how they stripped all the nuance from their story to make it a 100% ‘shiva was an ass and parvati is clueless’ thing. They aren’t actually supposed to be terrible people, and ananga was meant to be an intentional gift and not a random side effect.

While it does make sense from a Hindu Cosmology Perspective because something something Parvati = Durga = Kali (At least I think so, I'm not exactly an expert so correct me if I'm wrong) Durga/Kali being Sakurafaces is still meh to me because of Parvati being one to begin with was also meh.

At the same time, I don't really register them as Sakurafaces if only because of the hair colour. It's the Kama Effect really, like sure the hairstyle and ribbon are the same, but the pale silvery hair throws me off.

Most Saberfaces are all blonde, so they all mesh together. Kama and Durga/Kali's hair are the furthest thing from purple, so I don't really register them as Sakurafaces mentally.

The writers were still the ones that chose to make her Ganesha in the first place, and there’s only so many times you can retread that ground before it gets pointlessly repetitive (especially when you know they wouldn’t let either side of the equation change)

Not to mention it isn’t even the most interesting thing they could do with having jinako as Ganesha. She was orphaned as a young teenager and her unhealthy habits were a direct coping mechanism in response to that, resulting in years of isolation that further compounded upon itself, and now that they’ve given her a proxy parent the only interaction they can come up between them is ‘haha nagging parent and lazy child?’ Like idk I just feel like there’s potential there that they continue to miss for the sake of a very basic joke. And it’s not like parvati is even bringing up how Ganesha ‘used’ to act or anything, she’s just criticizing jinako for how she spends her time off in chaldea. Jinako DID do her duty in lostbelt 4 but that hasn’t been brought up outside of that to my knowledge, and parvati’s frustration is less because jinako isn’t doing her job (there isn’t really anything for her to DO with no one alive) and more because she isn’t spending her time in a way parvati, in how fgo characterized her, agrees with.
