The sound of his voice echoing in the corridor made you jump as if the booming thunderstorm hadn’t already. You whip around to see your tall, long-haired boyfriend approaching you with a small smirk on his lips. He reaches for you when he's near, taking your hand gently and kissing your knuckles.

“Midnight stroll around the house?”

“I wasn’t strolling; I was looking for you."

He pauses and pulls your waist to his, staring down at you with a squint before his eyes soften again. He kisses your hand once again while he strokes your plump cheek with his thumb "I'm such an idiot; the storm woke you up."

You quickly shake yourself free from his grasp, to which he pulls your body into his with a soft chuckle, strong arms tight around your shoulders. Another clap of thunder rang outside causing you to tense and grip his arm as the sound rumbles to silence.

"It's fine, it was just loud, Stasia.” You say, feeling ashamed of your racing heart, "Very loud..."

"I'm not mocking you, love. I'm almost done with my work, you wanna sit on my lap and sleep in my office?"

"I'm not tired anymore."

"Yeah, sure, cuz you're on edge."

Before you could protest anymore, the pink-haired man gently took your hand to guide you through the upstairs hallways to his office. He kicks the door closed and picks you up, securing your legs around his waist as he sits in his office chair and turns on his laptop as the rumbling of the storm continues outside. Knowingly, Anastasia buries his face into your collarbone and pulls you impossibly closer, feeling your heart race inside your ribcage.

"Mmm, my poor girl." He whispers against your neck, before kissing the top of your bonnet, "It's just a noise."

"Well, duh. It's just loud and sudden and random. Not like I can help it.”
