And still our bonds give me strength
---
Married Chrobin Risen King Chrom. (Grima is possessive)
--
"I know in our vows, we said -till death do us part- but now that it was a reality, I find that limiting." Grima tells him, almost conversationally.
Chrom kneels and listens, his vocal chords not yet recovered enough to speak.
"You are mine, you are my husband. And I am a god. Why should I have to loose you for good, when I can have you right here beside me? Life is meaningless, but our bonds give us strength. And our bond is unbreakable."
Chrom's skin is pale in death, and his eyes red, but that does not matter to Grima. A crown is placed on Chroms head, as a kiss is placed on his mouth.
"Go bring me the other Shepards, my love. We have another war to fight togther. And just like last time, you will lead them."
A sword is offered , and Risen King Chrom accepts it and rises, resolve burning.
He will not fail.

FALLEN EXALT CHROM GUSHING GO!!!
1.) I've seen people begging for this alt since forever, even before I actually got into FE proper!!! Y'all won!!! As far as I know, this is spun-off of a card from the FE TTCG since the armor is different but the whole vibe is still intact! Man looks so beautiful omg
2.) He's doing the Chrom™ pose!!!
3.) The Mark of Grima is really easy to find in this design and Chrom's bow looks like Grima's horns. He wears a crown like Aversa's/Gangrel's and, as another person pointed out to me, the place where he was stabbed by Robin glows! Nintendo, that is vile!!!
4.) It's a bit hard to tell but I think this is also another Chrom pose reference, I hope! You can see his Brand peeking out from under his broken sleeve and it ACTIVATES MY BRAIN. This man lost everything and covered up the symbol of his family and duty but he can't escape it, just like fate 😭. The whole theme of FE13 is that you can decide your fate but Fallen Exalt Chrom's voice lines are just about how you/he can't change fate- ouch
5.) You can kinda see it in the other sprites but here you can see the hilt for Falchion really well. Despite having an entire wardrobe change Chrom still wears Falchion's hilt even though he doesn't have it- Lucina probably does and this hurts my soul so much oml
6.) Litol guy 🥺

Chrom Headcanons
[ cw // death ]
[ cw // death ] Chrom has a strange relationship to his dead parents. To his father, he is often compared, especially regarding his appearance. Yet he struggles to understand his father's motives in starting the war that had cost many innocent lives as well. He would love to remember his mother, however, she died soon after his birth due to complications. He feels that, in some way, he robbed his sisters of their mother and tries his best to treat them kindly as if to make up for his supposed crime.
[ cw // death ] Being raised by servants and wet nurses who were followers of the teachings of Naga, he has learned that everyone has their own respective responsibilities and has intrinsic worth. This lesson and belief was further strengthened by his older sister, Emmeryn, who lived this mindset with all of her heart and was well-beloved by all of those around him. As a child, Chrom already learned to admire his sister with his entire being, constantly looking up to her. Thus, her "fall" was a greater impact on his life than most would understand at first.
When he was younger, he used to be very rowdy and energetic. Equipped with his wooden sword and shield, he would go on an adventure to save the princesses, his sisters, from dangerous monsters. Lissa can tell many embarrassing stories about his struggles and trials on those "missions".
He has an incredibly unruly handwriting, making it difficult even for Frederick to read his commands if Chrom doesn't pay attention to writing slowly and clearly. They tried to improve it ever since he was young and still failed.
In a certain sense, Ferderick took a mentor and almost father-role in Chrom's life. Albeit he has outgrown the feelings of being scolded by a father, he still appreciates the responsibilities his retainer accepts and the loyalty he can rely on, regardless of the situation. It is good to have someone by your side you can trust at all times.
As he never had experienced betrayal before, Chrom can be considered a bit naive in general. He tries to consider different outcomes and asks for others' opinions, yet he himself will always tend to trust others and give them the benefit of the doubt. Both a good and bad trait of his.
He is not exceptionally talented with the sword, but his relentless training day and night without and with a partner gave him quite the experience. Additionally, specifically Falchion seems to merge with his arm in a way that makes it feel natural to swing it. Chrom is not certain if it is because of his mark of the Exalt, but he is not careless enough to rely on it. During training, he prefers a regular sword in order to avoid becoming too used to the ease of Falchion.

A reflection is only a variation of you that is paler.
—
Chrom dies by Grima's magic.
Chrom is brought back from death by Grima's magic.
He is not brought back living, but risen. His skin is gray with the pallor of death, and his eyes are red now. He looks to Grima like he looked to Robin in life, with trust in his eyes.
"We shouldn't be going to war alone, Chrom." Grima suggests softly through the human avatar. "We should bring our friends into this."
The Shepherd's fall to Chrom's blade, and are brought back by Grima's magic. Not all of them, not right away, some escape, some die to other causes, some have their corpses successfully burned. But enough of them come back as risen to still count as the Shepherd army.
The Shepherd Army is led by Chrom, and directed by Robin. That has not changed in death, save that Robin is Grima now.
Grima places a crown upon Chrom's head. This one is different from what he wore in life, spiked and dark, belonging to Grima.
In life they fought war after war, a perpetually never ending cycle. Warmonger Chrom, they called him, a stark contrast to his sister, Peacekeeper Emmeryn. Chrom was a man who had wanted peace, but had no means to achieve it, the legacy left by his father swallowed the world his sister had tried to make better. Robin had left his father, and ended up on the other side of a war against his country. Robin followed Chrom into it, and into the wars that followed.
Life had been a series of wars, and death was all one big war against everything else. All the war has only honed their abilities to fight better, as they follow Chrom and Grimia into the fight against the living.
In many ways, nothing has changed. Life is meaningless, death is meaningless, and yet the ties that bind them still hold true.
Death can no longer break them apart, but unites them, stronger than ever.

In honor of summoning him
