Time to type out an impromptu gratitude list

3) When I go insane in someone's replies over a character i like and they match the energy because i just did it this morning and it was so fun. Just banging our heads together about our horrible little guy

4) I was feeling sick today and my sibling just told me to fuck off and sleep. Took care of everything I had to do 😭😭

hiiiii! totally okay hehe and thank you, you're so sweet! how can you do that... i mean, it took awhile because it took getting to know people and making friends well enough to have them know my likes and dislikes, who i am as a person, etc and be able to see a post and be like OMG THIS IS SO SUS or have me be able to do that with them. so for most of them, it took building a friendship which happened mostly through chatting on WhatsApp or Discord, but also sometimes just chatting in the DMs here or interacting through tags on each other's posts when we are mutuals haha

so i feel like... the hardest part of this is just figuring out how to start building that relationship and friendship. and like, it varies. a lot of people are busy and tired and you sometimes want that friendship and reach out and try to start building it and they don't reciprocate at the same level, but i do think that over time you naturally just find your people. most of my friendships have been built over screaming at each other about how much we love each other's fics lolololol either that or we work together for a fest or to write a fic for a friend or mutual love of rare pairs or whatever, and then we get to know each other that way and get closer.

there's not really a fool proof and sure way to make it happen, but by consistently being kind and showing interest in other people, just like in real life, goes a long way online.

i feel like this is a long answer that still doesn't maybe give you the information you're looking for, and for that i'm sorry. my allergies are bad and i'm super tired, so i'm not sure my brain is fully functional at this point, but i hope this helps give you... an idea? lol

ugh, like, in the beginning i basically forced myself upon people, in a hopefully not creepy (though it was admittedly weird...) way. i didn't really give @reminiscingintherain or @tommosgun a choice, i essentially told them i considered them my friends now so let's be friends and they were too polite to say no. eventually i got under their skin and convinced them to love me back hahaha

but yeah, i really do feel like so much of it is luck and good timing. just keep trying and you'll find your friends and others who go around tagging and interacting with you in posts! it is fun, but also just remember, that isn't everything and there's also a lot to be said about just being able to come here and chill and escape. if human connection is what you need, though, then keep seeking it out! you'll find the people who fit into your life as well as you fit into theirs over time.

hiiiii I know we're not mutuals but I love your blog and your ideology and the way you post you're literally brilliant. Anyway I live in germany and I can maybe contribute to your research about the bad german vibe because I absolutely definitely feel it too and I'm making conscious plans to escape to the us lol. So first of all you're correct with the weird porn and kink shit. German culture is soaked with very dark and fucked up porn and you can find brothels and sex clubs pretty much everywhere (there are like 3 in my neighborhood. one of which is a bdsm club because that's also super big here). Also there are large and explicit advertisements for the famous German megabrothels everywhere. On my way to school as a kid I saw them every day and it really fucks one up for obvious reasons. And it also doesn't stop at porn because germany also has a massive pedophilia problem (like many central European countries. It's an epidemic). Parents are sometimes selling their own children to cp rings and just last year there was a massive and awful case of cp being produced in this shed in a trailer park. Very dark vibes coming from all images of the shed. I'll never forget how darksided that was. Also yes noise is horrible you can't get away from it. I'm misophonic so I have a very painful response to noises and literally every day is a struggle because trucks are everywhere, power tool noises everywhere, children screaming until midnight, planes, trains, buses. It's so bad (and I live in the suburbs. It's even worse in downtown areas). I actually sent a audio recording of the everyday noise to my besti3 in the us and he was like wtf this isn't normal. Also another darksided thing is the dark weather and the very dense and dark forests (one of them is literally called the black forest and they're not lying). Last point I have are the extremely rude unfriendly and hostile people. German culture is very focused on seeing other people fail and getting personal enjoyment from it. You can not make real friends here. Literally everyone is out for each others downfall. This is literally one of the most rancid cultures on earth
