Kim Kardashian West is using her shapewear brand SKIMS to help fight the coronavirus pandemic. Her brand’s Cotton Collection will be restocked on March 23 with its lineup of ultra-soft loungewear and underwear. With this release, 20 per cent of profits will be donated to Baby2Baby’s Covid-19 Emergency Response Program. Baby2Baby’s relief system is in place to provide life essentials to children and their families that are being impacted by this pandemic, and has already distributed over one million items like diapers, formula, clothing and blankets. Earlier this month, Rakuten Fashion Week Tokyo announced it would be cancelling its events due to the coronavirus outbreak. Fast forward to now, and it has been announced that shows will go on, but instead will be livestreamed on the official website. This means that the biggest names in Japanese fashion, like Hideaki Yoshihara and Mint Designs, will have models presenting their Fall 2020 collections on runways without an audience.

Barcelona-based luxury bridal company Pronovias Group is gifting wedding gowns to brides-to-be that are working in hospitals. Doctors, nurses, janitors and cafeteria staff are among the frontline workers in the Covid-19 pandemic who can take their pick from a wide variety of gowns from “The Heroes Collection,” which was curated by Pronovias Group’s artistic director Alessandra Rinaudo. This gesture started in China at the beginning of the year, and donations are now spanning to other affected locations in the world. “It is an honour to show my support and raise awareness for all of these women doing their best to overcome this pandemic. Love will conquer all,” Rinaudo said.

Inditex fashion group, one of the world’s largest fashion groups and owner of retail giant Zara, has announced it will be manufacturing and donating medical masks to Covid-19 patients and health care professionals in Spain, which is where the company is based. According to Spanish health authorities, masks are amongst the most needed supplies, however, Inditex is looking into sourcing medical grade fabric used for hospital gowns as well, and is also looking at the possibility of turning a portion of their textile-manufacturing to the production of health material.
