Physics and Chemistry are hard, especially when the subject is so abstract you probably won't be able to even try to understand it. I took a test on Electromagnetism and Stoichiometry recently, so they still linger on my mind.

I had this idea of incorporating real-life, the boring science stuff, into fantasy which is more interesting and forgiving and also includes dragons.

Bonus point if you can point out all the references, sciences or fandoms.

The Boy and his Dragon.

I wanted to finish this for Lunar New Years but this took longer than I wanted it to. Mainly cause I had no clue how to paint a dragon, let alone try painting more of a rendered style lol!

I've never had the courage to go all out full render since I really love to stylize and graphic-ize my paintings. It is something very different from what I make. This was really some I wanted to try with the dramatic lighting, a creature I don't normally draw and a very rendered human in a costume. I definitely learned A LOT! Also dragons are really fun to paint! Definitely went with an eastern style design!

Oh wait, it's dragon appreciation day? That's neat!

Here's what I spent my time on more than I'd thought. It's an environmental painting practice! I was looking up tutorials on how to start this and found one by Jordan Grimmer who I really like and have been following for quite a while. I recommend checking him out if you're interested!

The painting was made in grayscale and I slapped a gradient map on top of everything later because I wanted to just focus on my values (aka brightness) only :P

Also an alternate version where it doesn't look unnaturally green.

Dragon commission. This was the first time I tried watercolor brush pen on toned paper. I loved it 💜

Drawing this has made me realize I do miss drawing dragons.😭 I just have so many ideas for humans but maybe I should prioritize dragons a bit more...maybe at least creating one dragon a month?
