Fanboys SMAU • the label
summary: the main cast of Fanboys!
a/n: I like SMAUs… heehee… <3 and college AUs bc I’m a college student and I always picture fictional characters as my age so 🥰✨ enjoy!
Geto Suguru, Ryomen Sukuna, Gojo Satoru
this is your senior (and junior, in Sukuna’s case) trio. they’re known as fuckboys to the ENTIRE school — but they’re the fuckboys everyone wants, even if they know they can never really have them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Itadori Yuuji, Fushiguro Megumi, Kugisaki Nobara
this is your freshman trio. when you join, you’ll be part of a freshman quartet! they’re all hot and popular, but very down to earth, and you can count on them when you need them!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Inumaki Toge, Zenin Maki, Okkotsu Yuta
this is your sophomore trio. similar to the freshmen, this group is chill, even if the school is all over them. it’s hard being wildly attractive, but with friends like these, it makes the challenge bearable.

Fanboys SMAU • Artist Catalogue
summary: meet y/n! as well as some tweets from your faves below!
a/n: originally I was gonna base y/n’s music on other artists’ music, but then I realized that DUH I make music and maybe I should promo it every once in awhile so, sorry if you don’t like my music lol <3 I promise it’s mid at worst (and best)
Y/N Y/L/N’s public and private Twitter accounts
y/n, now a freshman at Jujutsu University, has been on her own for awhile. pursuing music came with a lot of sacrifices, including getting kicked out and cut off by a lot of people for doing something that nobody wanted her to do. why else would she be okay with leaving everything behind to start fresh for college? she’s already burned all of her bridges.

chapter 1: introductions
summary: y/n is moving into her new dorm at Jujutsu U!
word count: 755
a/n: thanks for waiting! I know a few people have gotten excited for this one :) let me know if you’d like to be added to the taglist!
Tumblr media
Y/n pocketed her phone after checking her social media to see how well her recent sponsored post was doing, and double checked the number on the dorm unit. 507. Good. She opened the door, and sitting on the couch were two girls around her age, one with light brown hair, and the other with dark green hair. They both turned their heads, faces stoic, until they saw her keychain. “Hey, is that an Emile keychain?” The brunette asked, “You kind of look like Emile, actually.”
Y/n’s eyes darted to the right, thinking about a quick answer, but she knew it was already too late when she could feel herself smiling in embarrassment. “I, uhhh… I am… Emile.”
The brunette jumped up, and the green-haired girl slowly stood up beside her, excitement shining in the former’s eyes, interest in the latter’s. The brunette exclaimed, “No way! I listen to your music all the time!” She zipped over next to y/n, saying, “Nice to meet you, Emile, I’m Nobara, and this is Maki.”
“I can introduce myself!” The green-haired girl said, “Name’s Maki.”
Y/n laughed. I like these girls. “You can call me y/n, actually. Emile’s just my stage name. So, what should I do with my things? I don’t really have much.”
“Oh! You have your own room, and there’s a closet in there. We were going to leave the biggest one for you, but they’re all the same size, so it didn’t matter. Let me show you!” Maki flopped back down on the couch, and Nobara tugged y/n down the hallway to her room. It wasn’t large, but it was big enough that her recording equipment would fit, once she picked it up. She was worried about damaging it if she just jammed it in her brother’s car, so she planned to get a U-Haul to bring it after the first week of classes were over, just so she was ahead on her schoolwork. After Nobara helped y/n unpack what little she had in her suitcase, she ran to the bathroom, and y/n went out to the living room to chat with Maki some more.
When y/n took a seat next to her, Maki asked, “So, I take it you’re a Music major?”
Smiling with pride, y/n nodded. “Yep! What’s your major?”
Maki replied, “Well, I’m only a sophomore, so I can’t declare mine yet, but I’m going to go into Crim.”
“That’s interesting! What made you decide on Crim?” Y/n said, leaning forward. “No one at my high school ever expressed an interest in Crim except some of the really creepy true crime girls, but half of them didn’t graduate.” She frowned to herself. “It’s probably a good thing, though. I know I wouldn’t want one of them examining my body with complete apathy if I died tragically.”
Maki snorted. “That’s true. My reason is because I want to help people. I come from a family of really rich lawyers, with high-profile clients. I just kept seeing so many situations where some rich guy’s girlfriend mysteriously died, and somehow the police on the investigations botched things, or lost evidence. I didn’t want to be complicit in that kind of thing. I want to be a private investigator to help families. Of course, my family didn’t like that very much, so they cut me off, and now I’m here on my own merit, since I couldn’t get a dime of financial aid thanks to their tax bracket.”
Y/n was stunned. “Wow. That’s really inspiring, Maki! I wish I had a cool story like that, I’m just an idiot who got lucky with the algorithm.”
Maki blushed. “Luck has nothing to do with how good your music is, y/n. I like your songs.” She looked away, like she was embarrassed, and y/n’s smile spread from ear-to-ear.
“Thanks, Maki. Even though I’m proud of my work, it’s always just one of those things, where I get flustered because it’s my voice. You never really expect anyone to believe in you, you know?”
Maki looked up at her in surprise, mouth slightly agape. Softly, she said, “Yea, I know exactly what you mean.” The two of them exchanged an understanding grin. Two girls against the world. Unbeknownst to them, Nobara’s bathroom break consisted of not actually using the toilet, but telling the group chat all about how her favorite artist was talking to Maki and also is living with them for the next year.

Y/n’s first week of college went by in a flash. She had four courses: College Success, Anatomy & Physiology, Music Theory and English 101. Yuuji and Megumi were taking English 101 with her, Yuta was taking Anatomy with her, and Gojo was taking Music Theory with her, so many lunches and dinners were spent studying together, and though Gojo regularly tried sitting next to her, Yuuji and Yuta always protected y/n from his antics.
Y/n’s head jerked up just before it hit her paper. “Oi! Y/n! You’re drooling on your notes!” Yuuji said, and y/n clamped her mouth shut, looking down at her paper to see no saliva whatsoever.
She growled. “If you keep fucking with me I’ll make sure Megumi is the only one who gets to see my notes in that class.” Y/n let out a yawn, switching from laying down on her belly to sitting criss-cross applesauce and stretching out. Lunch and the warm afternoon sun shining through Yuuji and Sukuna’s living room window had made her sleepy enough to nod off. “Where’s Gojo? I could swear he was just here.”
Megumi replied, “He was, he just went downstairs to let in a friend who lives in a different dorm building. Says they could use a study buddy.”
Right on cue, keys jangled in the lock, and the three students looked up to see Gojo pushing the door open with a flourish. “Ta-da!” He chanted as he jumped over the threshold. Out from behind him stepped… Y/n gasped. It was the hot guy from her College Success class! Gojo tilted his head at her and smiled. “Oh? Is Suguru familiar to you?”
“I- I- He-” Y/n stammered awkwardly, then managed, “We’re taking College Success together. I didn’t… know you knew him.”
“I do know him! He’s my best friend. He told me he was taking College Success, and I thought his poor senior self could use the assistance of a smart, pretty young thang to get through it, since he’s so behind.” Gojo winked at y/n, and if she wasn’t baffled by her two worlds colliding, maybe she would’ve reacted. Gojo seemed very talented at picking bad occasions to try and flirt on.
Suguru rolled his eyes, saying, “Sheesh, you make it sound like I’m an idiot or something.” He left Gojo at the door, walking past and settling on the carpet. “I just avoided taking the class for as long as I could because I knew it would be easy. Better to give myself a break in my senior year than to stress like everyone else, yea?” Suguru asked, and y/n found herself nodding along. She probably would’ve nodded along to anything he said, though, with a face like his.
In a rare moment of critical thinking, Yuuji asked, “But why would they make you take College Success still when you’ve already proven you’re successful in college?”
Suguru shrugged. “Beats me.” He nods at Megumi, saying, “Hey Fushiguro, how are you doing? Is Sukuna here?”
Megumi scowled at the mention of Sukuna. “Thankfully, no. But I’m good. How are you, Geto?”
Suguru’s eyes flitted over to y/n for just a second. “Pretty good, now that I know I have a study buddy to carry me through one of my last classes.” Y/n’s face heated up, and she bit her lip. “Y’know, you guys should really make up, you and Sukuna. He can come off as a dick, but he’s a good guy.”
Megumi scoffed. “He doesn’t just come off as one.”
Suguru put his hands up in surrender. “Well, if I can’t convince you.” He starts getting his stuff out, including a laptop with a stylus, plus a few textbooks. “What are you guys working on?”
Yuuji answered, “English 101 right now, but once we’re done me and Megumi have math homework, so maybe you and y/n can work together?” Y/n knew Yuuji was clueless as to her attraction to Geto, but in that moment she thanked the universe for placing Yuuji in her life as the best accidental wingman.
Gojo, who had quietly closed the door and was watching the interactions as he walked back, flopped on the couch behind Suguru, poking his head between him and Yuuji. “I still need to do my Music Theory homework with y/n, so make it quick.”
Y/n quickly got to work explaining how she formatted her paper – not just the standard double-spaced, twelve point Times New Roman font, but how she followed a basic template for her essays so they were easy to write, and how she expanded them depending on the length requirements. Megumi caught on quickly and Yuuji needed a bit more explaining, but pretty soon, the three students all had their own rough drafts following that same template. Sometimes the rough drafts held simple phrases in brackets, sometimes they had colorful sticky notes with interesting leads scribbled on them on top of their papers, and they all had highlighted the important parts of their essay. Yuuji must have had trouble figuring out his important parts, because y/n was practically blinded by his almost-entirely neon yellow page, but she only thought to herself, Well, that’s what a rough draft is for, I guess. And pretended like the smell of the ink wasn’t damaging her brain cells.
Finally, they finished their English 101 work for the day, and as everyone shuffled around, Gojo suddenly announced he needed to pee and made a beeline for the bathroom, and shortly after, Megumi’s phone vibrated. He frowned at it. “I’ll be right back, I’m getting a call.”
That left Suguru, Yuuji and y/n, and the room got a little quiet. “Anybody hungry?” Yuuji asked, completely unaware of the energy. “I could really go for some chips and chocolate milk right now.”
Y/n replied, “I’m down for choccy milk. Could you bring me a bottle if I give you money?” She reached around to grab her bag from the couch, but not before Suguru interrupted her.
“I got you covered. I’ll take one too.” He handed a five dollar bill to Yuuji then added, “And keep the change, I don’t care about coins.” Yuuji, who definitely cared about coins, grinned and quickly fled the scene to get their snacks. Suguru turned to face y/n. “You know, I don’t really need help with that class, but I’m still down to get your number.”
“Oh? Like, to study independently of them?” Y/n asked, oblivious to the fact that Suguru had been watching her study for the last half hour while he pretended to care about the notes in front of him.
Suguru smiled. “Yea, we can… I was thinking more like being friends. Maybe getting a coffee together sometime? You’re really cute, and I like your vibe.”
“Oh!” Y/n exclaimed, a little loudly for someone sitting right next to her, but Suguru didn’t appear to mind. “Right, right. I wasn’t even thinking about that.” She laughed nervously, taking out her phone and handing it to him.
As he typed in his number, he said, “What, am I not smart and handsome enough for you?” Just as y/n was about to defend herself, he grinned. “Just teasing. I actually have to run, a friend needs me. But I’ll text you, yea?” He says, his dark eyes making y/n glad she was sitting down, because she surely would have fallen flat on her face if she’d been standing. Suguru gathered his things, opened up the door as Yuuji was getting back with his vending machine spoils, and left y/n there wordlessly, again. How does he always do that to me? She thought to herself.
As Yuuji settled down, Gojo came out of the bathroom and Megumi came out of the bedroom with a scowl on his face. “What’s wrong?” Y/n asked him.
Megumi shook his head. “Nothing, just something dumb.”
She tried to comfort him. “If it’s bothering you then it’s not dumb.”
He sat across from her, sighing. “It’s only bothering me because it’s dumb.”
Y/n’s mouth formed an ‘O’ and she nodded in understanding. Gojo sat on the couch again, but this time, right behind her, a leg on either side, and he said, “Now that you idiots are done, me and my new best friend have our own work to do!” Then held a textbook in front of y/n’s face. “Why don’t we read the chapter out loud?”
Y/n, who wasn’t sure what to do about the built as fuck calves caging her in, said, “I have a better idea. Instead of doing more work, why don’t we go straight to the reflection questions? This isn’t supplementary to the lecture, so we’re never gonna go over it again in class or on the test. It makes less work for us.”
Gojo gasped in a way that y/n could only describe as aggressive. “Do you guys hear this? My new best friend is so smart! That’s why we’re besties.”
“Wait! You were talking about y/n when you said that the first time?” Yuuji followed, aghast. “I thought I was your best friend!”
Even though y/n couldn’t see Gojo’s face, she felt like she could feel his eyes roll. “We don’t have any classes together, Yuuji.”
Yuuji responded in indignation, “I thought you were going to tell me you transferred into one of my classes!”
Megumi said, “Why the hell would he do that? He’s already taken all of his prereqs.”
Yuuji’s face went blank. “Huh? What’s that?”
“What’s a prereq?” Megumi double-checked.
“Yea.”
“It’s classes you have to take before you can take the more advanced ones. Did you… not know that?” Megumi said, with a look of horror on his face.
“I…” Yuuji started, then said, “You know, I always thought it was weird that everyone took certain classes in a certain order when I thought they could just take whatever they wanted.”
Megumi face-palmed. “Yuuji. Yuuji. YUUJI.”

chapter 2: making friends
summary: follow y/n through her first day of the quarter!
word count: 1932
a/n: hehe I was very happy to make this chapter! I hope you enjoy! comment on the masterlist, send me a message or comment on this post to be added to the taglist!
Tumblr media
When y/n’s alarm woke her up for the first day of Fall Quarter, she could already smell something heavenly cooking in the kitchen. As she dragged herself out of bed, she noticed it felt more like floating than dragging. Maybe this is why cartoon characters hover when they smell good food, she thought to herself, and she picked out her fit for the day.
Y/n figured that nothing could go wrong with lavender Nikes, an oversized lavender tank top tucked into pale gray sweats and a cute half up half down hairstyle with a scrunchy. She completed her look with a simple silver chain and matching hoop earrings, and of course she laid her edges, gelled her brows, and used some highlighter, opting to wait on lipgloss until she’d eaten breakfast.
She heard a knock on her door, and Nobara’s voice followed. “Y/n! Want to try my famous breakfast sandwich?” Before y/n could answer, Nobara opened the door, gasping. She eyed y/n up and down, then said, “I think I’m going to steal your style, because how have I never thought of pastels before?!”
Y/n felt her face heat up and she laughed. “If you can fit my clothes, feel free to borrow them whenever you want! But what’s this about a famous breakfast sandwich?”
Nobara blushed. “Actually, it’s not really mine. It’s our friend Toge’s recipe, but I stole it because it’s really good. But come try it!” She leaned forward and grabbed y/n’s wrist, dragging her out of her room and over to the kitchen counter, where Maki was already seated and chowing down, and two plated sandwiches were waiting to be devoured. Nobara sat in the middle seat, and turned to y/n. “Okay, get this. So, for starters, you toast these sourdough bread rounds, right? Then, you put mayo on each bread slice. Then, you put a piece of this super melty cheese on one of the slices. Then you make an egg over easy, so there’s still runny yolk in it, and add that. Finally, you put your lunch meat in the pan just to heat it up a smidge and put that on top, put your other slice of bread on top, and squish the egg so the yolk drips onto your plate and acts as a dipping sauce. I added seasonings to ours, but I didn’t know what you wanted on yours, so I left it plain and figured you’d tell me what you wanted next time. Now take a bite!” Nobara exclaimed, and y/n couldn’t help but see her as an excited golden retriever waiting to be called a good dog.
Y/n bit into it, and it tasted… “Good,” She said, “Way better than any Starbucks sandwich I’ve ever had. Thanks for making me food.”
Nobara beamed. “I like cooking, but I like eating Toge’s cooking more than anything. He’s just a genius at that stuff!” She sighed, seemingly day dreaming. I wonder if she likes that guy, y/n mused. Whoever he was.
Tumblr media
In the middle of her morning class – a college success class – y/n’s phone dinged, and she mentally cursed herself for not turning it on silent beforehand. The few heads that swiveled in the sea of students quickly refocused their attention on the professor when he cleared his throat, and y/n mouthed a ‘sorry’ as she silenced it. Who was texting her this early?
When she checked, she noticed the name “tHe GwOrLz ChAt” in her text messages. That’s new, she thought to herself, and when she opened her phone, she hid a smile. It was her roommates.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Somehow, y/n couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous when the other students in her class started gathering their things. She felt butterflies in her stomach, her hands felt shaky, and she felt self-conscious, as if everyone in the room was watching her. Sure, maybe one or two students looked her way, but she wasn’t that famous. Not Lil Nas X famous, not even Em Beihold famous. She was more like… Avenue Beat famous, where she popped off with one song, and then got a steady enough following from that to be alright if she never went viral again.
Were these feelings first day jitters? Hardly. She knew what it really was. She wanted Nobara and Maki’s friends to like her, and if they didn’t? She stood the chance of losing her two new friends, and if their friends only saw y/n for her internet fame? She’d end up distancing herself and lose out on opportunities to spend time with the girls, because that’s what drove her out of her hometown in the first place.
As she made her way down the stairs, her shoes sounded like bricks on the floor to her ears, thudding almost as loud as her heart in her chest. She was so focused on her nerves, staring at her feet all the while, that she almost toppled over when she crashed into someone at the door of the classroom.
“O-oh!” Her voice cracked, “I’m so sorry! Are you okay?” She asked the guy, and thanked her lucky stars she’d finished her sentence before seeing his face, because… wow.
Long, jet-black hair, melty dark chocolate colored eyes, and a handsome smile to match, along with a completely unfazed demeanor. When he smiled at y/n, she experienced a blank mind for the first time in her life. “I’m perfectly fine. Are you okay? You seem a little out of it.”
Y/n squeezed her eyes shut and opened them back up, confirming for herself that what she was experiencing was real and that she was, in fact, okay. “No, yea! I’m all good. Just wasn’t watching where I was going. Sorry again.”
He smiled at her again, and this time, she noticed crinkles in the corners of his eyes. Somehow, a normal human feature for literally everyone was only sexy on him. “You’re okay,” he said. “See you around.” And walked away. He’s fine as fuck, y/n thought as she stood there, under a spell.
When he was out of sight, she finally remembered she was supposed to meet up with her friends. She hurried down the hall and out of the building, heading straight to the cafeteria, knowing she’d either spot them outside, or they’d spot her first.
“Y/n!” She heard her name being called, and turned to the right to see her two friends, and a group of guys — all ridiculously hot guys. She recognized each of them based on their descriptions. Yuta had his arm thrown around Maki’s neck and was giving her heart eyes, Toge was sitting next to them eating something, Nobara and Megumi were sitting next to each other sullenly, and Yuuji and Gojo were standing behind them, running around and laughing. From where y/n was standing, it looked like Gojo and Yuuji were the cause of Nobara and Megumi’s soured moods. Maki was waving to her, and Nobara looked up and over to y/n, her scowl being replaced with a smile of relief.
Y/n jogged over to all of them, and said, “Hey, guys! Where should I sit?”
“Oh! Sit right–”
“You can sit next to me, cutie. You know, I really like your music, but I’ve never gotten a tweet back. It breaks my heart, honestly.” Gojo cut Nobara off, tugging y/n by the wrist to sit down right next to him. As soon as y/n had come over, he’d quit his fooling around and had peered at her over his sunglasses, but she’d been too focused on the group as a whole to pay it mind – normally it would’ve left her flustered, but right then, all she was worried about was not making the entire group hate her.
“Oh, really?” Y/n asked him, “I see a lot of tweets from people, so I’m not super great about responding to fans on that account. Maybe uh, maybe I could retweet you?”
He pouted his lower lip. “Not even a follow back? After all I’ve done for you?”
Nobara cuts in. “All you’ve done for her is obsessively like and retweet all of her stuff and then invade her space bubble without introducing yourself, like the heathen you are.”
Gojo scoffed. “That’s called being a true fan. And anyways, I was about to tell you that my name is Gojo Satoru, but you can just call me Satoru. Am I allowed to call you by your real name, or do I have to call you Emile?”
Y/n felt Nobara’s glare and remembered what Nobara said. Never call him Satoru. “You can call me y/n, I’d rather that less people connected my face to my stage name.”
The pink haired boy sat down on y/n’s other side and said, “I’m Yuuji. I always wanted to know, what inspired you to start making music?” When y/n looked into his soft brown eyes, he looked like a sad puppy begging for a treat.
She laughed as she said, “Well, that’s a long story, but music’s always been there for me, and I’ve always connected with it emotionally.”
Yuuji’s face looked like it was buffering as he processed what she said. “I don’t know exactly what that means, but I think I understand half of it?”
Nobara rolled her eyes and chided him. “Then why did you ask her a complicated question if you weren’t gonna understand the complicated answer?”
Megumi said, “You’re expecting too much, Nobara.” His face softened a bit as he said, “I’m Megumi, by the way.” Y/n nodded at him, taking in his words at the same time that she took in his eyes being a deep, dark blue. They looked beautiful.
“And I’m Yuta! I hope we can become good friends.” Yuta said, planting a kiss on Maki’s cheek. “It’s what Maki wants, so it’s what I want, too.”
Maki furrowed her brows and lightly shoved him away. “Don’t say it like that! It sounds like you only care because I do.”
Yuta’s face reflected confusion. “What? I’m just saying that anything that matters to you matters equally to me. That’s not a crime!”
Y/n hid a smile. She knew what he meant, but it was sweet of Maki to worry about her feelings. “I think it’s nice, to have someone who values the same things as you.” She glanced over at the only person who hadn’t introduced himself yet, and her heart skipped a beat. It must be Toge.
He appears to perk up when their eyes meet. “I’m Toge. Nice to meet you.”
Y/n could feel in her bones that she would not be able to address them individually, so she said, “It’s nice to meet all of you, too.” She spotted that beautiful, raven-haired man from earlier heading through the cafeteria doors, and decided that was her cue to get up and grab food from the cafeteria. “I’m hungry. I’ll be back in a few!”
Everybody said their goodbyes, and when y/n entered the cafeteria, she gave a sigh of relief. She couldn’t believe she made it through that without embarrassing herself, especially after her mishap in her morning class. She was disappointed that she couldn’t see her gorgeous classmate, but she was not disappointed at the smell of seasoned food cooking in the kitchens. As she stepped into line and grabbed a tray, only one thought was on her mind:
This year is going to be very interesting.
