I swore I was never going to go back to that project.
I abandoned it for a good reason. Massive overcommitment, mainly. It's a very long story.
It's funny, actually. If the story had been complete when I'd started, I would have finished the project. By the time I abandoned my efforts, I'd gotten through all the chapters that were out already when I started.
And yet, here I am more than ten years and a whole gender later, considering restarting it from the beginning. This time as a way to practice my voice.
I don't even have the equipment I used anymore, it was all borrowed from my brother and I gave it all back ages ago.
Still though. Maybe. Hahaha. Ha.

Well, isn't that nice? /srs
So, a long old time ago now (I think more than a decade at this point), I wrote a Fallout: Equestria sidestory [there was a whole sub-fandom of MLP doing it, don't go looking if you don't already know the score on that front. It's not worth it], and I just found out that I got some fanart at the end of last year about the story.
So that's fun.
I have no interest in the MLP fandom anymore, and haven't for a long time, but it's still nice to have art be done of a story I wrote. I've also pretty much given up any claim to the story, as I allowed somebody else to re-upload it years after I'd taken it down.
See below the cut for the artwork of the eight characters who were the focus of the story.
(Fun fact! - Undertow, the little wet noodle of a unicorn at the bottom there, was not meant to live beyond her introductory chapter. Some of the others were meant to kill her off by chapter's end, but she [and I still couldn't tell you how] basically became my blorbo from my own story AS I WAS WRITING HER. I suspect dark magicks or some sort of mind control are to blame. Anyway, she survived the entire story and became the 8th main character.)
EDIT: Forgot to mention that's not actually what Snowflake looks like, she looks like below, but after I deleted the story the first time I forgot that it got rid of all the character references I put in author's notes and stuff.

Holy Hellicans, Fallout Equestria. An absolute yarn of a fic that's dark and gorey and certainly not for everyone? It's a crossover between G4 and the Fallout franchise, which was so big in it's day it spawned an entire sub-fandom and oodles upon doodles of spin-off fics, Even to this day! I struggle to recommend it because it's a very grim fic, and a lot of the spin-offs are just as or even more dark. If you dig the fallout games and like ponies tho, there's plenty of fun to be had with the original fic!
