I grew up in Fairhope… I always wondered how you all found out about the area for filming Oculus… seems like quite a few directors have filmed around the area.

Our line producer for Oculus, Scott Lumpkin, lives there and he brought us in. We had such a good experience that we also shot Before I Wake, Hush, and Gerald's Game there, and I imagine I'll end up shooting there again!

Dig this. Well, we're hitting his new place in Fairhope, Alabama... Finally, time to eat. ...where he's gone from sandwiches to showed no sign of stopping. Not good, not great -- dynamite. Here's an old favorite: a pork belly sandwich made with a light cornstarch mixture (which in itself is pretty strong). ...with bacon... That's it. ...in place of fried chicken, of course. Good thing my daughter's coming! ...and her friends will eat more of what they've got on their plates. We'll start off with the main one -- a $7.
