The Fabric of India, Cincinnati Art Museum through January 6th

Lots of shows will end in early January, so get yourself out there and they will be  making the holiday season even more enjoyable. For anyone who has admired saris, the fabrics of Indian are always a treat from the beautiful handwoven silks to the printed cottons. This show starts with the history and goes up to modern times. It was organized by the V & A in Britain and there is a book too. I must confess that I have in my fabric collection, a gift from a friend, a beautiful sari in shocking pink embroidered in silver and am too daunted by it to know what to do with it. Was it Diana Vreeland who said pink is the navy blue of India? She meant you see it everywhere and you do indeed in the one image I could find. The show is headed down to the Ringling Museum in Florida after this.
