Pick the Right Size Bedroom Furniture
When you prepare to get bedroom furniture, start with a layout and also a gauged illustration of the room. Furnishings needs to fit the area it lives in this is especially true for bed room furnishings. Don't choose a heavy, large bed as well as cabinet for a small bed room. If the ceiling is high, a high headboard will certainly help to visibly bring it down to dimension. If your bedroom is big, pick furnishings that fits a larger space, too. Include a chair as well as footrest or place a furniture piece at the end of the bed to aid fill additional square video. Furniture as well as accessories that are as well little will certainly look lost in a large space.
In a bedroom, it's great to "layer" your lights throughout the area. Check out our ambient lighting from lightingville.com lighting up the entire area, while little lamps can focus light for analysis and other tasks and accent lights helps to clean the walls in soft illumination. To focus the reading light where you need it, utilise a bedside lamp with a movable arm. Each light should be flexible with a dimmer. Set up a separate on/off switch for every light so that you can be careful and also light only the location you want. To include in the serene feeling of a bedroom, shop things hidden. This will assist the room show up more tranquil and also roomy. Select a night table with cabinets or doors behind which you can conceal books, cream, as well as reviewing glasses accessible but out of sight. For more storage, a skirted table or a small dresser with cabinets is a fantastic alternative visit our wonderful bedroom furniture deals at https://www.furniture-n-home-decor.com/ A trunk or a storage bench at the foot of the bed is an excellent means to store extra sheets, blankets, as well as cushions. For easy-to-reach books and also accessories, use a headboard with integrated shelves or sliding panels. Area shallow boxes underneath the bed to hold smaller sized accessories or out-of-season clothes, hiding them with a stunning bed skirt. Ultimately, a custom-designed organisation system can additionally help you make maximum use of your existing wardrobe room. Give yourself an unique treat with a peaceful area to rest and also read. All it requires to produce an intimate analysis or lounging area is a comfortable chair and stool at the end of your bed or behind-the-scenes. If you have the area, build a window seat under the bedroom home window to take pleasure in the view and natural light. Equipping your bed room with attractive as well as elegant materials is a great method to up the convenience variable of your space. As a rule of thumb, do not buy sheets that are less than 100 percent cotton or linen with high string matters of 350 or even more. For sheets that seem like they originated from a 5-star hotel, send them to the completely dry cleaner for expert cleaning and pressing, which doesn't set you back a lot, yet develops a crisp smoothness worthy of the Ritz. You can additionally add various other sensual-feeling materials throughout the bedroom, like a soft mohair or cashmere throw on the arm of a reading chair, distinctive wall coverings, luxe drapes, a breezy bed canopy, or a luxurious rug by clicking here A magnificently dressed window will assist to frame the home window and also sight and supplies one more means to add shade, pattern, texture, and gentleness to a bed room. If you enjoy soft sheer curtains that filter light, combine opaque roller blinds that can be taken down to keep privacy at night and also to block morning light. For all draperies, consist of nontransparent blinds or drapery cellular lining to stay out the sun when you intend to rest late.

a schitt’s creek fashion cheat sheet for fic writing
there comes a point in so many fics where you need a designer/brand name to throw in for a random item of clothing someone is wearing, and it can be really hard to know what to pick if you don’t know a ton about fashion. how do you decide which designer to mention for that new sweater david’s been eyeing? which one for the shoes alexis is currently packing in her suitcase?
to that end, here is a very basic guide to choosing designers and brands that fit the aesthetic of the characters, match what they wear on the show, and thus make you sound like you know what you’re talking about...
david
is it a funky shape (weird draping, extra fabric, etc.), or does it have a drop-crotch? without a doubt, rick owens
is it neoprene and/or does it have lightning bolts or geometric colorblocking? most of the time, neil barrett
is it just a random other sweater or sweatshirt? your safest bet in most cases is givenchy
other designers you’d be safe to include in the mix, as they appear several times each include saint laurent, alexander mcqueen, valentino, and dries van noten. also, acne studios, though most of what david wears of theirs has more of a streetwear vibe, so don’t use it for like, fancy mohair sweaters, etc.
skirted pants? rick owens or dries van noten
other jeans? rick owens, dries van noten, and neil barrett
shoes? 80% of the ones he wears are rick owens, so that’s always a safe choice
the leather jacket from our cup runneth over, sebastien raine, etc. is rick owens, while the one from the wingman is acne studios
his wedding look is entirely thom browne
and the tux from the s6 promos, if you need that for any reason, is burberry
his silver rings are maison margiela (the gold ones are custom made)
alexis
dresses and skirts? isabel marant is your best bet
other designers you’re safe to include are derek lam, chloe, proenza schouler, dolce and gabbana, and reformation
shoes? mostly pretty evenly mixed amongst céline, chloe, isabel marant, prada, and valentino (i know it can be tempting to say louboutin because they’re so well-known, but alexis doesn’t actually wear them much)
purses? chloe and miu miu are popular options
moira
the safest bet for just about anything for moira--dresses, shirts, jackets, shoes, whatever--is alexander mcqueen, doubly so if it’s on the funkier side of things
other good options for pants, skirts, and shirts are sandra angelozzi and givenchy
other good options for dresses include balenciaga, junya watanabe, msgm, and haider ackermann
other shoes are mostly a mix of prada, alaia, balenciaga, céline, and miu miu, plus moira specifically mentions alexander wang and fendi in reference to her shoes in various eps
purses? prada and proenza schouler both appear often
johnny
shirts and suits? mostly either ermengildo zegna or canali
i honestly haven’t ever paid enough attention to johnny’s shoes to even try to identify them, but zegna would again be a pretty safe bet or another conservative/traditional, italian option like berluti
patrick
jeans? levis or paige, exclusively
most of his shirts/sweaters are largely unidentifiable, but he does wear a jacket from j.crew in moira rosé, so probably think brands along that line
his wedding look is hugo boss
they all certainly wear other designers/brands on occasion, but this gives you a solid base at least if you just need a name to throw out.
on the other hand, if you’re looking to name the designers of specific looks they’ve worn on the show, i’ve got a quick list of all david’s [identified] sweaters, and @holmesapothecary has posts by season with pictures for all of david’s clothes by episode. i’ve also got a post just about david’s shoes if you need that. @patrickbluer has screenshots of all of patrick’s outfits by episode, if you need any of that for reference. various other things have been id’d in my #fashion reference tag. you can also check sites like spotern or wornontv. and finally of course, if you ever can’t find something in any of these places, don’t hesitate to ask me, and i’ll see what i can do!

I'd love to hear about what kind of alternative non-plastic materials you've found if you want to share, since I've been (very tentatively at this point, due to cost and time) considering a suit project
Sure thing! I appreciate the interest and I’m happy to share!
For the head-base I’m looking at natural latex upholstery foam as well as wool and stiff cotton interfacing. This website has tools for custom ordering foam sheets: https://foamsource.com/shop/Custom-Foam-Cushions
Mohair is the most plausible non-plastic faux fur I’ve found so far. Being a niche variety of an already very niche fabric it’s quite a bit more expensive than plastic fur at this point. I like this website’s selection and that the owner posts video footage of the fabric so you can get a better idea of pile and density: https://shop.intercaltg.com/
I’m going a bit old-school for eyes and just doing pure cotton buckram with metal wire for stability.
Because I’m being extremely fucking extra about this I also wanted to avoid plastic zippers. I looked at a lot of options (buttons, magnetic closure systems, etc) before settling on metal hook-and-eye closures. These are like the types of fasteners you find on bras or on dress pants. I’m currently undecided if I’ll hand-sew large fasteners or use a tape of smaller hooks like this: https://buttonbaron.3dcartstores.com/Hook-Eye-Tape_p_1643.html
For paw pads, noses, eyelids, etc I’m going to be using recycled/salvaged leather.
Claws and teeth have been tricky and I’ll admit that they will be very experimental in my first minimal-plastics suit. Right now what I’m planning is wool felting coated with natural rubber and paints to get the right visual texture.
And then there’s the miscellaneous accent stuff. Boar bristle for whiskers, yak or goat hair for manes/hairpieces. Possibly even recycled/salvaged fur pieces or feathers. Fly-fishing supply shops have a lot of neat natural materials like moose mane or stripped feather quills and I totally recommend checking them out for accents and details!

Famous muse Pattie Boyd says she neglected herself in her rock star marriages
10 April 2018 — 10:21am
If you remember the '60s, you weren't there: so it is said of that explosive decade of sex, drugs and rock'n'roll when girls sashayed down the Kings Road in tiny skirts and Biba boots, boys wore ruffled shirts over tight velvet trousers and London was the epicentre of cool.
Oblivion came with the territory: Eric Clapton was supposed to have slept with more than 1000 women but as he told me in an interview for Fairfax Media, "I wouldn't know, I was in a blackout for quite a few of them".

Pattie Boyd was both muse and wife to Clapton, to George Harrison before him and no stranger to drug and booze-fuelled partying. But there was little danger of failing memory for her. She kept a record of the wild years – portraits and reportage style snaps taken with a Polaroid and, later, on a Hasselblad.
As fans and paparazzi clamoured at the door, Boyd had the inside track, hanging out with The Beatles and friends, at home with George, on tour with Eric. "I took endless photos," she says. "It was something to do, otherwise you could feel a bit spare."

We are talking in her Kensington flat ahead of an exhibition of her photographs and a series of speaking engagements in Australia in May. I'd spent several minutes on the rather grand doorstep, repeatedly ringing the bell and wondering if I'd got the wrong address. Perhaps she'd been having a nap; she is 74 after all and it is that snoozy, post-lunch time of day when I often feel like one myself. She does seem quite dreamy, half-heartedly remonstrating with a friendly Irish terrier called Freddie who inspects me thoroughly before jumping onto a large pouffe, not quite as pristine white as the matching sofas. "He's allowed on that one," she says.
Boyd is wearing skinny jeans on her long, slim legs and a deep blue mohair jumper; a fall of blonde hair frames what is still recognisably the face that launched, not a thousand ships, but three of the greatest love songs of the 20th century.
George Harrison wrote Something in the first flush of his youthful marriage to Boyd; the soaring guitar chords of Layla expressed Clapton's yearning obsession with his friend's wife. Then, when he had won her, he wrote Wonderful Tonight – and who hasn't danced dreamily to that, wrapped in a lover's arms?
There is a photograph of a 19-year-old Boyd in the flat: blonde fringe, huge blue mascara'd eyes and a tiny Union Jack stuck on the end of her nose. It is from a weighty coffee table book, Birds of Britain, containing portraits of London's posh totty – society girls who roamed the bars and vintage clothes stalls of Chelsea. Boyd's face is on the cover.

She was a model then, on the run from her dysfunctional family, broke and living on Birds Eye chicken pies in a shared flat. "You had to go round the photographers persuading them to use you for shoots," she says. "Norman Parkinson said, 'Come back when you've learned to do your hair.' It was all DIY hair and make up back then."
Did photographers hit on her? "Well some might try it on but you didn't submit and say, 'Oh must I?' You'd get out of there and warn the others." So it wasn't a #MeToo scene? "No! I don't know why these women don't just say, 'F--k off, I'm not having a meeting with you in your dressing gown with nothing on underneath.'" Is she a feminist? "Well not in the old 'hate men' way, but I don't like women being treated badly. I think the young generation – what are they called, snowflakes? – don't take responsibility for themselves."
Tumblr media
George Harrison and Eric Clapton in England in 1976.

She met George Harrison on the set of A Hard Day's Night – she played a schoolgirl – and they married when she was 21. They moved into Friar Park, a gothic pile in Hampshire where the Beatles came to record, friends drove from London to stay and she threw herself into decorating, cooking and entertaining. She was, she says, blissfully in love but often lonely: wives and girlfriends were not allowed on tour and Harrison was frequently absent. After the Beatles had discovered the Maharishi Yogi and they all went to India to learn meditation, Harrison returned gripped by eastern mysticism. "He chanted a lot," she recalls, "it's difficult to talk to someone who's chanting."
He had also discovered that he was attractive to women: "He was famous, good-looking, had tonnes of money and flash cars – what a combo. Girls were offering themselves everywhere and he loved it. To come home to old wifey must have been a bit dull."
I took endless photos. It was something to do, otherwise you could feel a bit spare.
Does she think all men would be like that if they could? "Yes I do," she says firmly. What constrains them? She shrugs: "Society, women, family?"
Eric Clapton had been a frequent visitor to Friar Park, laying siege to Boyd and, famously, playing a guitar "duel" with Harrison in the kitchen: she was the putative prize. "It was John Hurt [the actor] who described it as a duel," she says, "and he was so on the button. I sensed it but I hadn't formulated it."
She was attracted to Clapton, by then a rock deity – the legend "Clapton is God" was spray-painted on city walls – but determined to stay in her marriage. Her parents had split up when she was 10, her stepfather was a cruel and unusual man who tyrannised the family and left her mother for another woman: "As a child I always thought I would do anything to avoid divorce."
By the time she left Harrison – "He didn't want us to be together, it was a life of rejection" – Clapton had made good on his threat to take heroin if he couldn't have her. It would be four years before they got together.
Propped on an easel beside the window of Boyd's flat is a rather beautiful black and white photograph of John Lennon. Did she take it? "No, I bought it." Wasn't he the most interesting of the four? "He was, yes, he was. He was quite volatile, you never knew what he would say next. He was a pretty sexy guy actually." Did they have a fling? "No!" she exclaims. I explain I'd seen it suggested somewhere in a newspaper article. "How cheeky," she says comfortably. Later, reading her autobiography published in 2007, I find another reference to the rumoured liaison. True or not, I don't think she minds the idea.
Boyd and Clapton married in 1979: "I was madly passionate about him," she says. "We lived at Hurtwood Edge [Clapton's home for the past 50 years], I was in my 30s and ready to have babies; I used to wander round the house thinking, this will be the baby's room, the nanny can sleep here." But it was not to be: despite visits to a series of doctors and several rounds of IVF, the longed-for baby never arrived.
Clapton, meanwhile, had replaced heroin with alcohol and was drinking heroically. Boyd joined him on tour where he and the band would have girls to their rooms after the show. Cruellest of all, two of his extra-marital relationships produced babies: a daughter Ruth and two years later a son, Conor, who would die, aged four, in a fall from the window of his mother's New York apartment. Boyd and Clapton divorced in 1988.
Asked once who was the great love of her life, Boyd nominated Harrison: "I think he always loved me … Eric loves himself. She admits now: "In both my marriages I had neglected myself, and got lost in a big cloud of fame, I got lost in their lives."
When the music stopped Boyd found herself with a legacy – cardboard boxes full of photographs which she exhibits and sells as prints from her online gallery. They are the archive of an era: here is an angelic George lying in bed in an Indian ashram, Eric in a woodshed leaning on an axe and looking Lawrentian in corduroy trousers, Paul and Linda McCartney at Boyd's wedding to Eric, Anita Pallenberg and Marianne Faithfull at the Brixton Academy. They are candid and intimate: did anyone ever object? "No, not at all," she says, surprised, "I would never show a photo where someone's not looking good."
The collection has been a useful earner for the girl who left school with three O levels and had no need to work while married to rich men. She has continued to take photographs – portraits of actors for their books and pictures from her travels. Does the contemporary work sell? "No one's really interested," she says without rancour.
Freddie needs a walk so we put on coats and set off for Holland Park where the trees are still leafless but there are daffodils and a hint of spring. Boyd has been with her partner, property developer Rod Weston, for 20 years – "we are old friends" – and they wed in 2015. They share the Kensington flat and a cottage in Sussex bought for her by Clapton. Why did they decide to marry? "We have lots of nieces and nephews between us," she says, "we wanted to put everything in order so there wouldn't be any tears." We walk on a few paces: "It's funny," she says, "Rod has been much nicer since we married and I am happier and less selfish. I didn't anticipate that."
She remained friends with Harrison until his death from cancer in 2001 and has stayed in touch with Clapton, many years sober and married with three more children. Last year she accompanied him to the launch of a documentary about him, A Life in 12 Bars, in which she features, naturally. "He rang me and said, 'It's a bit raw Pattie, I hope you'll be OK.' I said, 'I'll be fine Eric. I'm a grown-up now."
George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Me: An Evening with Pattie Boyd will be held at Sydney's Four Seasons Hotel on May 15. Boyd's work will be shown at the Blender Gallery in Paddington from May 5 to June 2 as part of the Head On Photo Festival.

10 Tips for Decorating a Beautiful Bedroom
A sanctuary and a personal getaway should be your bedroom. In which you can express your favorite collections, feelings, and colors. For decorating a beautiful bedroom here are 10 tips for you.
Choose Subtle Color
Choose a monochromatic tone which is restful palette and soothing shades- instead of bold primary colors. For serene and calm considered green, lavender, or gentle hues of blue: these are color therapy keep in mind. To set the mood of comfort and coziness helps rich jewel-toned hues. Topaz, deep pomegranate or toasty browns are included in these. In the bedroom, use your favorite colors down toned. Choose instead of tangerine pumpkin or instead of eggplant choose mauve.
The Ceiling! Don't Overlook It
In a room, the fifth wall is the ceiling. Blank, bland surface- do you see, in bed when you lie? Add a soft color or a subtle pattern. From the wall color, a slightly lighter version use in the ceiling. You'll feel intimacy and comfort as the ceiling will help to visually lower.
Use a decorative paint treatment or moldings or in the form of beams add architectural elements- this another solution for decorating the ceiling. To the ceiling, while adding texture, design, and color, you can envelop in sensuality and warmth and from the ceiling tented bed with a dressing that hangs or a canopy, leafed bedroom ceilings- for ultimate luxury. Above you to the "fifth wall" to delicate shades bringing color, pattern, and texture or add chandelier and a molded medallion.
Tumblr media
Keep the Bedroom Simple
Regardless of what style of decorating you choose- elegant, sophisticated, simple, and cozy, a bedroom should be. Like dressers and tables keep at least two feet between the bed and low furniture, and large pieces of furniture or between the bed and side walls leave a minimum of three feet, for ease of movement. Think of how you can move the bed, to get from the closet to the bathroom you have to walk around the bed.
What you need with only that furnish your bedroom. The necessities are- chair, a dresser, a bedside table or two, and a bed. In the closet place a chest of drawers, if you have room.
To a minimum, you should be kept the accessories. You can arrange some candles, flowers, family photos and a beautiful piece of artwork.
Choose the Right Size Furniture
Start out with a measured drawing of the space and a floor plan, to buy bedroom furniture when you're ready. For bedroom furniture, this is particularly true that furniture should fit the room it lives. For a small bedroom, don't choose a heavy, large bed and dresser. To visibly bring it down to size a tall headboard will help if the ceiling is high.
If your bedroom is large, Choose furniture that fits it, too. At the end of the bed, place a piece of furniture or add an ottoman and chair. In a large room, it will look lost if the accessories and furniture are too small.
Have Plenty of Storage
Out of the sight, store things from the bedroom to add to the serene feeling. The room will appear more roomy and calm.
- Out of sight within reach, you can hide books, lotion, and reading glasses in a bedside table drawers. You can choose a bedside table with drawers. Or a small dresser with drawers or choose a skirted table for more storage.
- To store extra pillows, blankets, and sheets at the foot of the bed you can use a storage bench or trunk.
- Use sliding panels or headboard with built-in shelves, so that you can easily reachable accessories and books.
- Underneath the bed place shallow boxes and with a beautiful bed skirt you can hide them.
Include a Private Nook
To sit and read in a quiet place, give yourself a special gift. In a corner or at the end of your bed add a footstool and a comfortable chair and create lounging or intimate reading area. Under the bedroom window build a window seat, if you have room.
Indulge in Luxurious Linens
With luxurious and beautiful fabrics outfit your bedroom. Like beautiful linens to adds comfort to a bedroom. there's nothing. Don't buy sheets that are less than 100 percent cotton or linen with high thread counts of 350 or more. For professional washing and pressing send them to the dry cleaner for sheets that feel like they came from a 5-star hotel, which doesn't cost much, but creates a crisp smoothness.
Through the bedroom with soft mohair, add other sensual feeling fabrics. With silk or textured wall coverings, cover the walls. Hang silk draperies or a silk bed canopy, or add plush floor coverings.
Tumblr media
Cover the Windows
In a bedroom to provide softness, texture, pattern, and color you can frame the window. To maintain privacy at night and to block morning light, combine opaque roller blinds that can be pulled down, that filter light if you love soft sheer curtains.
For all draperies, include opaque blinds or drapery lining to keep out the sun when you want to sleep late.
Include Several Lighting Options
Throughout the room, it's good to "layer" your lighting in a bedroom. In soft illumination, accent light helps to wash the walls, for reading and other activities small lamps can focus light, and to light, the whole room uses ambient lighting.
With a movable arm use a bedside lamp, where you need it to focus reading light. With a dimmer, each light should be adjustable. Only the area you want, you can be selective, for each light install a separate on/off switch.
Let Your Bedroom Be a Real Getaway
Out of the room keep your exercise machine, TV, computers, and cell phone and try to discipline yourself. To renew and relax create a cherished place. For sleeping, romance, and reading- to dedicated you'll love having a room.

TRight here can also be the color factor - you can plan a herd of fairly giant measurement, having many colors. There are over eighty pure colours of alpaca fiber categorised worldwide. The sand drops off very quickly in the water and the waves and undertow are strong. The animals are highly valued for his or her excessive-quality wool that is used to make yarn and clothes, particularly alpaca wool sweaters. Alpaca yarn may be very just like cashmere, mohair and wool, nonetheless the fiber is way stronger. The yarn can be utilized for a lot of several types of clothing and accessories - hats, scarves, gloves and mittens, socks, sweaters, capes, dresses and skirts - as well as for household gadgets resembling rugs and blankets. Most gadgets of clothing should be hand-washed in both child shampoo or a mild detergent, since they won't hold up properly in machine washers and dryers. The upper grades of fleece, like "baby alpaca,"and "tremendous-high-quality," have a lower micron vary than inferior grades. It has turn into onerous to build a solid revenue and have a respectable tax shelter.
Apart from having enough finances, you will need to even have the appropriate aptitude to rear alpacas. This package additionally typically includes breed backs for the mom and any daughters when they're old sufficient to be bred. Most often, the primary buy is a maiden female - which has not been bred, because she could have a baby in a yr, rising the herd dimension, when bred. In actual fact, many individuals who've allergic reactions to mohair and wool, which comprise lanolin, will usually discover that they will put on alpaca clothing with none problem. Even the elderly, children and petite women will find it simple to guide these animals. Outdoors breedings can be limited. Llamas could also be found in colours which can be spotted or stable, and in lots of unique patterns. Their fibers are typically extra densely packed on the animal than other fiber animals and are sometimes softer than customary sheep's wool due to the lack of lanolin. It's a comparatively small animal with the males weighing about 175 pounds and the females about 135 pounds.
They do not bite like camels, but may spit at you if you happen to confine them in a small space. One of the explanations they are preferable over different fiber animals is the world needed to boost them is smaller. They migrated into the realm that's now South America about two and a half million years ago, while their camel cousins moved to the Middle East, and different areas. Their life span is from 15 to 25 years. It was on one in every of his journeys across country to the Lancashire coast and the port of Liverpool that he came across some undesirable bales of unusual wool. The Andean Condor is likely one of the world´s largest birds with a wingspan up to 12 toes large. They stand about three to 4 ft at their shoulder. The Suri fleece hangs in long strands like dreadlocks, whereas Huacaya wool is shorter and crimpy. Greatest CRIMP for the entire show (out of 729 huacaya fleeces)!
The garments can then be laid out flat to air dry. These had been the predecessors of the llama, info state, and not the identical animals that we know right now. Each vicuna and guanacos should not domesticated animals. This farm has about 20-forty alpacas which are very fascinating animals that remind me of a cross between a camel and a sheep. Once i left Canchones farm 2 days later NZ Black Magic Alpacas had purchased 13 black alpacas with excellent elite genetics all stemming from full Peruvian dams and sires that Peter Kennedy had hand selected in Peru. Our alpaca farm is positioned in North Canterbury  New Zealand 55 klms north west of Christchurch. Baby Alpaca fur is the softest Alpaca has to supply as a consequence of its exceptionally nice fibers. An alpaca wool sweater is a luxurious garment that gives ample warmth on account of its close-knit, longer fibers which can be softer and lighter than different wool yarns.
Not together with the tail, they're between eleven.Eight and 23.6 inches long with the tail being between 2.9 and 10.5 inches lengthy. A majority of out there Alpaca throws are made from one hundred% Child Alpaca. The legs are additionally brown with a necklace of white hair. It is predominantly black or brown in colour with shading around the chest and neck in white, cream or orange with each eye encircled by a ring, which provides it its identify. It was amazing to see hundreds of black alpacas of their paddocks, a really spectacular sight ! My neighbors and that i personal a lot of acres around our properties, and a few elevate Black Angus cattle to sheep and Alpacas. We try to cover all the main services and products associated with owning alpacas. It is the standard of the Child Alpaca fibers that ensures this sturdiness. Skilled shearing, sorting and processing of the alpaca fleece to offer consistent wool grade and color is vital to achieving a luxury fabric.

An Apartment Renovation– Part Two!
Early last year I wrote a story about Color Outside The Lines blogger and interior designer Artie Vanderpool’s newly renovated apartment.   Fresh from a break-up, Artie had moved to several different apartments, until he finally found one that he thought might be good enough to put down some roots – AND one he could decorate to his heart’s content.  After living in an older, vintage house with dark moldings – Artie craved light and bright.   His newest place was all this,  plus large and airy, and after a rough start, he was ready to share his place with the world.
Originally, the apartment had white walls and a sea of beige wall to wall carpeting.   What you can’t see here is that it also had lots of windows to let in the bright sun.
But the carpet had to go and so did the light fixtures and mini blinds – it was all too boring for Artie’s chic aesthetic.
Artie’s manager gave him permission to make these changes, but he probably would have rescinded if he had seen what the apartment looked like during the reno process!!
Before he moved in, Artie had all the boring carpet pulled up with plans to put down wood floor tiles.  Except, decades of carpet glued down to concrete doesn’t make a pretty picture.   Artie spent nights cleaning up the concrete in order to install the tiles.
But they wouldn’t adhere to the concrete.  He almost gave up and put the carpet back down…but instead, Artie had a brainstorm…
He painted the concrete white!
And then decided he absolutely hated all the white.
Except, now that the floor was tacky from the paint, he tried to install the wood tiles again, and miraculously – they finally stuck!
It’s not actually a real wood floor, but it looks exactly like one.
And here is the new dining room with his newly installed wood floor, chandelier, and gallery wall.   He also installed dimmers on strategic lights such as the dining room and hallway.
He added curtains, textured shades and lots of accessories and the apartment looked fabulous!
Here is the living room with the tufted sofa and chinoiserie cabinet.  More art work and a layered rug over seagrass give the apartment a real luxe feel.
The view from the dining room, with two slipcovered stools.
And in Artie’s bedroom – what he really didn’t want you to see, is that he never pulled up the carpet in the bedroom.   This detail was overlooked in the original story.
Artie had bought this four poster bed online and when it arrived, he discovered it was a bit out of proportion and he had to remove the top canopy.  The bed was just too short, as you can see in this photograph.
Since Artie was never really happy with the bed (of course not!) nor the bedroom in general (of course not!) a MAJOR change was in the works (of course!)
Besides the changes in the bedroom, there also was his media room, which he NEVER told me he even had!  Actually, the apartment has two bedrooms and the second one was turned into a cozy TV room.
Along with those two new projects, there was his kitchen.  He totally redid the tiny apartment kitchen over two weekends and a few nights.  It is amazing.
Ready?
The Living Room:
There have been a only few changes in the living room since the first story.    Artie’s favorite pieces include his pair of Savonarola chairs with their custom black slipcovers and the chinoiserie chest, which is the focal point of the room.    The Kravet sofa has a Pindler and Pindler velvet cushion cover with a Samuel & Sons jute chevron trim to help protect the cream sofa against his two puppies.
In the corner, Artie added an old concrete urn.   He bought the urn for his dining room table, but it was too heavy, the plant is perfect for it.
The new urn and more plaster pieces.
On this side, he added a new brass lamp – and a fancy-pants Hermes blanket is peeking out!!   The chair is from Pottery Barn, but has been discontinued and the brass chest is from Ken Fulk.
                The Dining Room:
In the dining room, there’s a new side chair and a new friend – the bust on the chest.
The cane and leather chair was a steal – $40 at a NYC thrift shop.   Plus the $200 he paid to ship it home!!
His new room-mate is Mr. Nathaniel Hawthorne.  At least he is quiet and doesn’t have an opinion about painting over dark molding.  And he likes to drink, so Artie keeps the bourbon close by.
The Hickory Chair table got a new urn and orchid.
And the very latest tablescape – new blue & white and a collection of antique cross bottles which Artie creates and sells HERE.
The  Kitchen:
Before:  The kitchen is just a regular apartment kitchen.  Nothing too grand, but nice and clean with new cabinets.
How to make this plain area look more “Artie?”
To turn it into his own,  first Artie took down the upper cabinets.  Yes.  He did that himself.  Next, he added shelves for dishes and glasses.  Then, he made a linen skirt to use instead of lower cabinet doors.
The new look:  Artie made a fabric shade for the window and bought a new glass pendant to dress up the kitchen.  A lamp and candlelight add mood.
Artie added open white shelves instead of closed cabinets which makes the kitchen look so special.  And,  I love the linen skirts instead of lower cabinet doors!
Love the oil painting.    I am crazy over the changes!!!  The kitchen looks so great compared to what it looked like before!!
Hard to believe this is the same space – just a few days later!
Artie added a rug to tone down the vinyl flooring but who notices the floor when the shelves are so cute?!?
The brass stool in the hallway is from Target, believe it or not!  The oil painting on the top is by Ted Ellis of Ted Ellis Fine Art and is one that Artie treasures.
One more view!
The Media Room:
The Media Room had two windows and more boring carpet.  For a few months, Artie just kept the door closed.    Then, inspired by a photo of an extra long day bed…
he ripped up the carpet, installed the wood tile floor and created a sofa/day bed:
One long daybed becomes a slip covered sofa.  Artie added three sconces from Lowes for reading light.
I love the one gilt frame mixed amongst the black framed pieces of art.
Artie said he took a few months to decide what to do with this room.  He knew he needed a  space for guests to sleep in and he wanted a spot to watch TV.  He designed the day bed with a 10” memory foam mattress and stiff back cushions make it feel like a sofa.
Art work hangs on the walls.  Love the two wicker chairs.  You know what?  I think the Hermes blanket would look really good in here, Artie!!  Maybe you should move it here?
Art is from Stellers Gallery in Jacksonville HERE.
Seagrass rug layered over the floor and Thomasville leather ottoman doubles as a coffee table.
IDEA:   Artie switched out the legs and added these brass caster ones, which really is an upgrade and a great idea!!!  The caster legs look so much nicer!!!
The custom made sofa is 10' long and 36" wide and is slipped in a white cotton denim.
Pindler & Pindler mohair and silk velvet pillows.
The throws are so inexpensive, Artie bought 8!  HERE  They come in different colors, too.
Curtains with fabric shades are lined with textured shades – to make it all cozy and warm.
IDEA:  Notice the skirted table the flatscreen is on – it is really hiding the dogs bed that is underneath the skirt!!
BTW – Artie made the curtains, shades AND the skirt!!
Plaster side tables and garden seats do double duty.
The wicker chairs are old – from Williams Sonoma.
A very similar chair is available at Wayfair HERE.
I love a wicker chair in a room – it’s a great accent and adds texture and warmth and a touch of individuality.
So sweet – Louna’s watching TV!!!
This is such a cozy and warm room to read and watch TV in.
Great job Artie!!   Now, go bring the Hermes blanket in here.  LOL.
The Bedroom:
The master bedroom was just the same as the rest:  more boring beige carpet and mini blinds.
Artie’s first bedroom décor was very nice – in blue stripes.  But he never cared for the bed.  So he sold it.
And then, he bought a lot, a LOT of brown and white striped fabric and….
Now the bedroom looks like this.  Amazing!!
First Artie got a new bed,  which is iron with a painted finish,  then he lined the walls with the brown and white fabric.  And next he added a striped rug over the seagrass over the wood floors that he had installed.
It’s just beyond fabulous!!  Seriously.   It’s beyond fabulous.
I’m so in love with this room!
At the left is a French bench with a slipcover and an oversized mirror.  At the windows are the white curtains and textured blinds.
The fabric is from Valdese Weavers, a mattress ticking with a brown ribbon used for trim.  Artie ended up using 35 yards!
Close up of the slipped French bench.  Notice the trim.  And notice the trim around the wall covering.  Perfect!
Even though Artie complains that the stripes aren’t straight in places, it looks perfect to me.  He said it was really hard to hang the fabric, but it was all worth it because this is his favorite room.   I agree.  It’s my favorite too!!!!!
Across from the bed is the chest flanked by two slipper chairs with striped fabric.
The two slipper chairs flank the chest.  The chairs are in a different striped fabric.
Another view.  Notice the trim at the ceiling.  So perfect!
The rug is from Safavieh.
Awwww.  Sweet Louna, the French Bulldog!!!
Parting shot.  Notice how Artie brought in some art work with orange tones to tie in with the blinds and the velvet tiger fabric.
Just perfect Artie.  Seriously – this is a dream come true apartment.  I’m sure he could be happy here for the next decade, but something tells me he probably will be moved out before the year is over!!!
To visit Artie’s blog and portfolio, go HERE.
Be sure to visit Artie’s Cross Bottle Shop  HERE.  He sells antique cross bottles, above,  AND he will custom make what you want in case something is sold out.  Just email him at:
to discuss his bottles!
More.
More.
And  more.
AND…
Christmas season is coming up and new design books are being released weekly.  Interior designer Victoria Hagan’s book Dream Spaces is one of the new ones and it’s so beautiful!!
Hagan’s book features 10 houses – and each has something in common…they are all second homes, vacation homes.   The book is large and luscious with beautiful photographs.
There is Victoria’s own house in Nantucket….
And this house is in Aspen.  Can you imagine waking up to these views of Ajax Mountain?????
And this Florida house.
To order Dream Spaces, just click on the book or HERE.
And I haven’t read this one yet.  I did read his wife, Joanna’s book and found it interesting and entertaining.  Now that the Gaines have announced they are retiring from HGTV (no!!!) – I’m afraid we won’t be seeing so much of the Gaines.  To order, click on the book or HERE.

Overview Of Project - The Knitted Monster
So basically my idea all started from way back in August, when I took a trip to New York and stumbled across an exhibition  (where sadly I couldn't take any photos) of Lolita Outfits. These pastelic outfits, girly dresses and angelic style instantly got me hooked.
Come October and I'm back at uni and these obsession with this controversial style was banging in my head. I knew that this was what I had to do for my project. It was something I had to produce or even just to be inspired by.
So since October I have had a consistent idea of what I want to achieve. I knew that I wanted to be inspired by the Lolita fashion, by using its overly cute aesthetic, colour scheme and bold look.
I originally made a pink lightweight kimono jacket that came to my waist (all measurements based off my proportions due to having no mannequin at the time). I got the pattern from a burda sewing pattern book, and the did make a puffy knitted belt where the pattern was found in rowan knit book.
After viewing it I felt it was too average and that I was just simply re-creating a Lolita outfit rather then pulling it apart drastically. So I carried on knitting small patches, (at this point it was the end of October) I almost covered the small jacket. Then after chatting to staff I decided to just go more bold and knit big kimono style sleeves (This was done because some Lolitas where traditional Japanese clothing but lolitify it as I mention in a older post). After enjoying this huge challenge of making knitted patches I decided that I must extend the jacket to the floor. My thinking behind this is because Lolitas have created a rule book on the do’s and dont’s in the Lolita community commonly known as the Lolita Bible. The book addresses the appropriate length of skirt and how much lace is allowed. One word that caught my eye was Monster. This word was given out if your outfit was just dreadful and shouldn't be seen in public. That was when I knew I must create a completely over exaggerated Lolitas outfit this exaggerates it's Victorian, Roccoco and Meiji era influences.
From November onwards till May the 28th I did not stop making knitted patches, lace, beadword, buttons, sequins, layered fabric, shoulder pads, layered you name it any knitting style, any yarn type from mohair to plastic was intertwined into this monster of a garment. I honestly have not stopped working. This without a doubt has been the most hardwork I have ever put into anything. Every minute I had I either had needles in my handles or cutting fabric and plastic to make my own yarn. I could see the end result since Novemeber and I was willing to change my mind. I have done nothing but been determined to get this done.
Everytime I made a couple of bags full of knitted patches I would sew them onto the garment. Thankfully Paula in the new year gave me her mannequin with arms so i finally had something to work from instead of guess work, lying it on the floor or even wearing it and pinning pieces to my body.
There have been times where I have been sick of wool and times where I can't wait to start a new ball of wool. I purchased the majority of my wool from a wholesaler called ice yarns. The rest were wool we already had a home, because my mom used to sell knitted toys on her Facebook.
There have been times as well where I felt like there could have been more frequent days when I could see my tutors. Sometimes I felt like I was repeating myself because they  forgot my work. Also I felt I was repeating my research to them and when they say oh that looks Victorian and I would reply yes I have told you that two weeks ago Lolita is inspired by that. So it felt like I was two steps forward one step back with them at times.
There was a time when myself and Paula booked a time slot for the photography suite and only until the morning did we get an email it was cancelled when we was already packed and ready to go. This laziness and slow mindset was such a throw back. I also felt frustrated that my day was wasted due to slow communication, no cover staff, limited staff and limited resources. Not only do I feel that but the was of booking the computer suite seriously needs to be addressed. Such as there needs to be more then one member of staff to assistant students with it seeing as it is something nearly every student in the school will might have to use at some point. There needs to be a better booking such as in order for me to book the suite I have to book the time slot for the room which is fair enough, but on top of that I have to seperartly book equipment such as lights and cameras and then lastly book the one member of staffs help who also helps in the editing suite. Perhap as a easier route I'd suggest having one booking system where you ask for the rook and if you require the equipment and staff that should be two tick boxes and that's it. Otherwise you can end up messing up dates which is just over complicated and confusing.
Also throughout my time there i wish there was more members of staff who were insterested in the textiles and craft side. Yes I do understand there is a small textile studio in the main building and another large fashion design school down at park side. However I did have an induction to use the equipment but because I am from art and design they never got back to me on dates when I go use the new and different equipment. The environment never felt comfortable, when telling staff I wanted to sew into wool she simply said you can't do that in the fashion room but only in the textiles department. So again I wasted a day having an induction on machines that I can't even use due to my material when I said from the start I'm interested in textiles rather then womenswear. So I contacted about using the Cad machines and the knitting machines and nobody got back In touch. So I gave up asking (3 times)  and carried on doing what I can. Again the response time to emails is just appalling at times and very off putting. Back to wishing there was more members of staff who had knowledge on the crafts, the two members of staff who do have similar understanding ownly came in now and then and my main staff member had a better eye for product design. I felt like there wasn't anybody I could talk to for advice. I again even emailed knitting members of staff who teach at park side but again no reply.
I then put all that frustration behind me and made sure I made as much as I could for the work in progress show. This show, enabled me to see I needed to go longer and more extreme. I needed to think how to display.
When the show was over I had chats with my tutor about display. The original idea was to create a design that could be made for me. However I decided to over the Easter to give a go at making my own.
I bought from home base my materials and set to work. My grandad who is a carpenter made my design. So I credit the design and the making to him. I documented the stages he took to make it through notes and images (All described on earlier post).
The design has many flaws such as the arms was not right and too stiff, and the base was very delicate. When bringing in my display and garment and placing it in the room I instantly knew that it was incorrect. It did get me upset because I was determined that it was right and it couldn't not be fixed. However thanks to my tutors addressing the situation a better design outcome was possible (again thanks to the help of my grandad who built and designed the new design) even though I was incredibly frustrated with myself and my work I calmed myself down a reassessed my situation.
I would also like to mention that massive and amazing help my mom has given me throughout this project, she helped knit some patches when she felt I was running out of time, she helped to stitch and pin whenever she had time off. She has helped to carry work to and from home and uni. She also came to my uni several times to help layout work and present my ideas. My project was a lot to take on, it could have been done single handed however there was times when I did need that extra push.
Oh before I forget to mention there was one time when a design display idea just did not work was the hooped skirted, I really do wish that did work out I had in mind but the hoops were too big and pulled the wool in was that didn't compliment it.
I have used over 200 balls of wool, 9 bags of sequins, 11 bags of beads, 5 tubs of buttons, 8 bags of lace, 1 machine thread, over 100 pins, used 12 different pairs of needles, 20 plastic bags, 1 single bedsheet and two matching pillow cases, 1 double bedsheet, 2 homemade shoulder pads, 5 metres of wadding, a bag of teddy bear stuffing, 4 bags of decorative butterfly pins, and much much more.
Overall I feel I have achieved what wanted to. I'm proud of how much I have made, and the skills I have used. I wish my display would have been adjusted but my skills are lacking info that area. Knitting is certainly without a doubt something I wish to push and peruse in the future.

Ravenclaw Sweater Looks Like The Real Thing
Sweater dress is principally a fantastic pull-on-and go gown that looks like an extended model of a pull over and is certain an incredible winter put on. You can click here to see the Ravenclaw Sweater in action.
Tumblr media
And I feel males feel nervous when approaching women as a result of they really feel as if they are making an attempt to GET one thing from ladies, as an alternative of OFFERING something the woman would possibly like. A sweater is a great way to deal with that scenario and make going out in poor climate extra tolerable.
This wave of sweater vests created internationally, made popular in North America initially, has additionally reached the South Asian, particularly Indian shores by their massively popular movie stars who're worshiped and whose fashion is blindly adopted by the plenty.
Ravenclaw Sweater;
Gifted Coast Salish knitters have combined artistry and skill to create distinctive Cowichan wool sweaters for nearly a century, and the craft is flourishing in fashionable times. The sweaters were not solely knitted by women to keep their husbands warm, but had been also made on the market so that the islanders may bring in more cash.
One fascinating climate phenomenon in Baja California Sur is found in the Bay of La Paz from late spring by means of summer. Using a shower towel, try soaking up excess water after which laying the sweater out flat to dry. Gown for the weather by layering cozy pullover sweaters over our lightweight womens t-shirts and tanks, creating a glance that is each sensible and trendy. Fifthly, a canine sweater is available in several sizes so you should know the size of your canine earlier than buying one. Bigger dogs with brief hair and slender builds are typically good candidates for needing a bit of extra insulation in chilly climate.
Our retro sweaters come in dazzling designs and distinctive details that may gown up any primary item of clothing. Within the photo of the hen laying on the desk, her light and calm demeanor is shown as my pal makes sweater alterations. In addition, a cropped sweater can be put on over the lighter weight costume to make layering appears nice. Trendy and appropriate for school, work, or play, our cute indie sweaters provide heat and flexibility to your day by day outfits.
Entertainers and visiting dignitaries have additionally acquired these knitted Ravenclaw Sweater as items. The brown one is my favourite, but you can even get this sweater in blue, black, inexperienced, and red. Once all the pieces is defined, you'll soon see your distinctive sweater come to life. It make robust quality and durable sweater which isn't simple to tablet when worn. The way you wash and dry your sweater will rely on what they're manufactured from. Your typical sweater may be washed and dried within the machine but sure materials will benefit from extra mild care. Its potential to shed water making it water proof which is nice to make as sport sweater jacket.
While they were largely excluded from society, Salish knitters mustered on, pouring coronary heart, soul and keenness into sweaters that helped them provide heat clothing for their households, develop cottage industries, and put their stamp on Canadian historical past, incomes them the respect they deserved as a hardworking, artistic folks.
A popular alternative for males is the 'James Bond' look which suggests a tuxedo and skinny match trousers a la Sean Connery or the 'media famous person' look which includes a herringbone wool jacket, slim fit chinos and a classic shirt. The mohair sweater is extraordinarily durable yet lightweight, smooth and lustrous to really feel, non pilling and non stretchy which make it simple to keep up and care. The constant Coromuel winds might be attributed to La Paz' comparatively large inhabitants: Only La Paz and its bay take pleasure in these fixed, evening winds, which create refreshing evening climate on an otherwise stiflingly heat coast. Sweater designs have been handed down by means of families; different motifs have been borrowed from basketry and weaving designs. Impress your girlfriend if you present up at her door unannounced wanting dashing in a maroon sweater over a pair of cream chinos and loafers. To start out, sweaters ought to be calmly brushed to take away hair, dandruff and lint.
Perhaps essentially the most attention-grabbing legend behind the design of Aran sweaters is that every family had their very own sample stitched into the sweaters. Secondly, it is best to search recommendation out of your vet in the event you do not need any thought as to the kind of sweater that you'll want to buy on your canine. Chihuahuas, miniature pinschers, and Italian greyhounds are examples from the toy-breed group of canine that routinely put on sweaters. Moreover that there is the Columbia fireside sweater which has a half zip on the facet from the collar to the chest for an additional style aptitude. There are numerous legends surrounding the cable-knit sample of the Aran sweaters.
Buy sweaters in all colours and types and be the fashion icon amongst your peers along with your trendy new types on daily basis. It appears stylish and classy once we put on a sweater costume and match with a pair of ankle or knee excessive boot. All components mixed to create distinctive-looking sweaters and over time, designs and strategies have been handed down by means of families. I believe it is great for an informal avatar, but even this ratty sweater will cost you.
Men could be equally as unhealthy as they often select to put on 'fun' or Christmas themed novelty equipment such as Santa cufflinks which can appear funny at first however the amusement soon wears off. A phenomenal sweater can add quite a lot of pizzazz to your collection of informal wear. Sports sweaters are sometimes worn on tops of sports package while touring to or from a sports ground. The sweater as a style ensemble in line of girls's informal garments is a brand new child within the block. The fluffy angora sweater coat is ideal to wear on winter months or on the coolest of days.
SpanishDict is dedicated to improving our website based mostly on consumer suggestions and introducing new and modern options that will continue to help individuals learn and love the Spanish language. The vary of wollen sweaters is right here to keep you fashionably warm all day long. For women the temptation is to go for excessive glitz and glamour however the downside will be wanting like a walking High quality Street. Carry a chunky sweater if you are heading out in the night time for a yard house social gathering. You possibly can match your favourite denims with a easy T-shirt and a cropped, fitted girls's vest A white shirt can give a basic look, but any coloration appears to be like great with a black vest. The sweater vests have seen the sunshine of the day again because of the assorted celebrities who've made it fashionable. Sweaters are a year-spherical wardrobe essential with infinite styling potentialities.
The well-known cable-patterned Ravenclaw Sweater have their very own heritage and historical past which includes a number of tales and legends which have been spun (pun intended) round their usage. Sweaters were traditionally made out of wool , however can now be made from cotton , synthetic fibers , or any combination thereof.
If you happen to see a plus dimension sweater you adore, you possibly can at all times make a particular request on a sweater as most sweaters might be altered to fit your physique size. Guys may scare ladies by being too aggressive, but most guys aren't responsible of this except they are drunk. First, lay the sweater entrance side down after which fold the arms and a small section of each facet so the sweater is simply several inches large.
The sweaters were knit within the round, which meant the clothes didn't have seams, and produced from pure thick uncolored wool, the sweaters had been often in cream, gray, and black and were heavier than normal sweaters made with lighter-weight yarn or wool.
In time, the sweaters took on the preferences of the innovative Salish knitters and got here to be embellished with traditional designs, utilizing the Truthful Isle technique, which employs two to a few colors that are alternated to provide particular designs.
Additionally, with a view to keep away from cross-contamination, you should not pack unclean sweaters with clean ones together. When she wears a singular sweater she will not only really feel particular but also heat and assured understanding how implausible she looks. Sweaters are a versatile merchandise of clothing and can be worn on top of virtually any outfit. He was the only man carrying a sweater and making an attempt to congratulate Jenna over the noise of the crowd. Start constructing your winter wardrobe with a crew neck sweater as it is a coveted styling piece amongst sweaters. Ravenclaw Sweater are great for adding texture and interest to outfits while holding you heat.
