Looking Glass Sound - Catriona Ward. I will read anything she writes, quite literally. This one is all about writing, its allure and its peril. A+++

Tracers in the Dark: The Global Hunt for the Crime Lords of Cryptocurrency. Didn't expect this to be as utterly riveting as it was.

The Three-Body Problem - Cixin Liu. Finally read it; omg mind-blowing.

In the Lake of the Woods - Tim O'Brien. Damn, this guy can write.

The Sparrow - Mary Doria Russell. Damn I read some great sci-fi last year.

We Are All the Same in the Dark - Julia Heaberlin. Fantastic mystery/thriller out of left field. Picked it up on a whim; zero regrets.

At Night All Blood is Black - David Diop. Brief, brutal, poetic. Amazing.

Winter Counts - David Heska Wanbli Weiden. I was glued to the page, rooting for these wonderful, earnest, flawed characters.

Sandy Hook: An American Tragedy and the Battle for Truth. Horrifying, but also a rare example of the justice system getting things right. Eat a bag of dicks, Alex Jones.

just wanted to ask how long the pre-ordering will be 'up' for? is there a standard amount of time, like just a few days or a week? my next pay check is coming up in around 10 days, and then i'd like to see if i can spend that much money on the hot toys figurine.

It should be up for a few months if it's like the other pre orders. They'd probably cut it off a few weeks before the figure is actually released.

Thank you so much for your request. It's never enough of Jedediah, and that scene is pretty good ;) I hope you will like the gifs.

Anytime I rewatch Ripper Street I have to recognize how beautifully written and built this character is. Even if he is a minor character they created him with deep care and I can't describe how I love he is a very-very bad man - I would be afraid of him in real life -, but he has a truly sensitive heart what he keeps in secret as long as possible. Maybe 'sensitive' is not the best word for his personality, but we can see how he suffers to control his emotions, his rage, his pain. I love one of his last scenes in the last season, when he faces Edmund on the street - in that scene he loses the control over his feelings, but not completely, he just lets something dark and painful out of his soul as he whispers to Edmund: "You and I, Edmund, at last you will know it, what it means to have all you are snatched from you, to be a half-man in a half-life with nought in your black heart but hate, hate." This proves he is not a mindless evil, something made him to do evil things and then his heart turned black slowly after a time. I always wanted to know more about his earlier life.
