Hickeys - Evan Ferguson
Tumblr media
Evan Ferguson × Reader
Warnings: Fluff, lots of kissing, a bit of teasing (not really the 18+ kind)
Word count: 1.06k
Summary:
Evan goes to an awards night where you find out he didn’t hide the hickeys you left on his neck earlier that day.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He feels his phone vibrate in the pocket of his slacks. He ignores it at first, trying to focus on the person currently speaking on the well-lit stage. One. Two. Three. His phone vibrates three more times. Evan gives in and reaches into his pocket to take out his phone.
He almost instantly goes from slightly annoyed to biting his lip in order to hold in his laugh when he reads the first text notification.
He quickly unlocks his phone and opens up your conversation to read all 4 new texts from you.
- Babe.
- What is THIS?!
Now he knows he’s in trouble.
- WHY DIDN’T YOU COVER THE MARKS?!
The corner of his mouth turns up into a small smirk seeing the image you’ve sent him. A zoomed-in screenshot of him from the interview he did no more than 30 minutes ago out on the red carpet. The image is zoomed in and focused on his neck, a large pink and slightly purple mark is on show.
- Don’t worry, baby. It’s just a little mark.
He quickly texts you back, biting back a chuckle seeing that you’ve read the message seconds after he pressed send. He can’t help but shake his head, amused.
He waits a little to see if you will reply. The small ‘typing..’ pops up in the corner of the screen a few times, but you don’t reply. He shakes his head again, pocketing his phone and turning his eyes back to the stage. He makes it through the almost 2-hour award ceremony without another text from you. He chuckles, knowing you’re at home ready to grill him about the marks not being covered.
He gets up and talks to a few people, mostly to be nice. He says his goodbyes after a few minutes before practically rushing out of the venue, wanting to get home to you as soon as he can.
___________
“Hi, Angel.” Evan greets you as he walks through the front door, hanging his keys up on the little hook in the entryway.
“Don’t ‘Angel’ me.” You’re standing not too far from him, your arms crossed and eyebrows furrowed, clearly very annoyed. You must have heard him come up the driveway and decided to meet him by the door to question him, he thinks.
His smirk returns as he walks towards you. You keep a straight, serious face even when he wraps his arms around you and brings you close to him.
Humming, he leans down to place a kiss on your cheek. Knowing he will have to butter you up a little, he doesn’t stop. He trails light, slow kisses down from your cheek to your neck.
“Don’t be mad, sweetheart.” He mumbles against your warm skin. “It’s only a little mark and I’m sure no one saw it.”
“I saw it.” You mumble, feeling your shoulders relax a little when he places a kiss on the sensitive spot below your ear.
“Mmmm… you did,” your boyfriend whispers, “but you knew those marks were there. No one else would have zoomed in that much to see if there was something on my neck.” He continues kissing you, waiting for you to give in and relax in his hold.
“I guess you’re right.” You say, uncrossing your arms to wrap yourself around him.
He smiles at that, trailing his kisses back up your neck to your still slightly pouting lips.
“Love you.” He kisses your lips.
Before you can reply, he picks you up. You let out a small squeal, surprised. Your legs and arms automatically wind around him, holding on so you don’t fall.
He continues pressing kisses to your jaw while carrying you to your shared bedroom. He kicks open the ajar door, kicking it closed once you’re inside.
He slips off his dress shoes by the door, still holding you. One of his arms moves up from the back of your thighs to your back to support you better as he sits at the head of the bed with you on his lap.
Once comfortable, he drags his hands to your sides. His thumbs rub small circles over your clothed hips. His head is tilted back just a little. Enough to barely rest his head on the headboard.
He watches you, watches as your eyes move from his face down to his neck. Your fingers loosen around the back of his neck, moving down to grab the bow tie he’s wearing.
He feels your fingers undo the black fabric, your eyes never moving from what you’re doing. His heart melts a little seeing you poke out your tongue in concentration, something he found cute. He doesn’t miss the small smile on your face once you finally get the necktie off him.
He bites back a groan when you move to undo the first few buttons of his crisp white shirt next, exposing more of his neck and chest. Your fingers barely touch him in the process, making a shiver run down his spine.
When you’re satisfied with the amount of skin showing, you lean down to tuck your face into the crook of his neck. Your heart swells hearing Evan’s breathy groans as you begin sucking little marks all over his neck, adding to the ones you left earlier in the day.
His hands stay on your sides, his soft touch encouraging you to keep marking him. Your arms are wrapped around him again, pressing yourself against him even more.
You hum, feeling him getting hard under you. You tease him a little more, moving your hips enough to grind down on him. His hands grip you tight and he lets out another groan.
“Think it’s my turn now.” Evan groans.
Within seconds, he’s flipped you so you’re lying on your back. He spreads your legs enough for him to slot one of his legs between yours. He lays on top of you, pressing himself against you, making sure you can feel how hard you’ve made me in just a few minutes.
His large hand creeps up your body, moving your shirt to the side once he reaches your shoulder. Humming, he leans in to kiss your neck again. He smiles against your skin, hearing you gasp when he gently nips at your skin before licking over the small bite.
“Now you have a mark to match mine.” He mumbles, trailing kissing up your neck to your mouth.
Evan Ferguson (Brighton) - Fairytale of New York
Day 25 of Christmas
Tumblr media
In the dimly lit room adorned with twinkling Christmas lights, Y/n watched as Evan's face contorted with frustration during a heated argument at their friend's festive gathering. "I just can't believe you didn't cop that she was flirting with you is all." Y/n said in the bathroom of their friends Christmas party. "She wasn't flirting, she was being friendly." Evan replied. "Yeah, because friendly girls rub your arm all the time, don't they?" Y/n scoffed. "Your friends that are girls kiss your cheek every time you make a shit joke, don't they?" Evan rolled his eyes and opened the door to leave. "I'm not doing this." He mumbled. "No, because you started it." Y/b said, using all her might to shut that door. "I went to talk to Shane and you came over getting all protective!"
"Shane liked you before we started going out." Evan replied simply. "Right? So what about Connor then? Why am I not allowed talk to him?" She asked, infuriated. "That's different! Connor is my friend, I know him and what he's like around girls." Evan said. "What? So you can't trust me then, is it?" Words were exchanged, harsh and unrestrained, echoing against the backdrop of laughter and merriment. "Look, it's not my fault your a jealous bitch, alright?" Y/n was taken aback for a second. Should she put it down to the fact that he was drinking a bit or that he was a complete and utter arsehole? "Fuck this, Evan. Find your own way home!" Y/n said as she opened the door of the bathroom and out to the hall to get her coat. "Where are you going?" Y/n turned to see her friend Dana stood with a glass of prosecco. "I'm gonna head. Ive work in the morning." Y/n smiled, pretending to be alright. "Is Evan gonna head with you?" She asked. Y/n shook her head. Her mouth opened to speak, but just then Evan stormed past, bumping into her. Dana looked between the two. "What happened?" Y/n wrapped her scarf around her neck and opened the door, the cold air offering a temporary respite. "I'll send you a voice note when I get back to my flat." She said, before bidding her fired goodbye and leaving.
As snowflakes gently fell, Y/n found solace in the quiet streets, her mind wrestling with doubts about the future of their relationship. The glittering cityscape seemed to mirror the uncertainty in her heart. Hours passed, each minute feeling like an eternity. She had just gotten home from a horrible Christmaz Eve shift at the restaurant she worked at. Horribke people, a horrible day, and to make it worse, a toddler throwing a small pot of ketchup at her. She turned on the TV, too tired tired even change her black shirt with red stains. She was on the verge of crying and that was until a soft knock on her door interrupted the lonely silence.
She turned the TV down and stood up. Maybe a neighbour was taking care of a package for her. That usually happened when she was at work. She opened the door and Evan stood there, regret etched across his face, clutching meticulously wrapped presents. His gaze met Y/n's, and the weight of the argument seemed to lift. Without words, they found themselves entwined in a heartfelt embrace, a silent agreement to put the disagreements behind them.
"I'm sorry I fucked up during our argument. I'm truly sorry for the things I said." He whispered. "I know. I'm sorry too. It really hurt me." Y/n replied. "I know, and I can't take them back. I was frustrated, and I let it get the best of me. I never meant to hurt you." Evan said as he pulled away from the hug to look down at his girlfriend. "I won't let it happen ever again." She smiled. "Come on. Get inside."
In the warm glow of Y/n's living room, the Christmas tree illuminated the space as Evan presented the carefully chosen gifts. Their conversation began tentatively, with apologies and promises, slowly rebuilding the connection that had momentarily fractured. As the night progressed, the couple found themselves wrapped in blankets, watching movies that held sentimental value.
With the strains of "Fairytale of New York" playing softly in the background, Evan extended his hand to Y/n. "Come on. This song is the reason we're even together." He was of course talking about how they met a few years back at a Christmas party and this song was playing. Y/n so desperately wanted to dance but all of her friends had someone to dance with and then Evan showed up and offered her his hand, much like right now. Y/n smiled and took his hand, before Evan started the pace. In a dance of forgiveness and reconciliation, they moved gracefully across the living room floor, letting the music weave its magic. The lyrics echoed their journey—imperfect, yet filled with the beauty of shared moments.
Outside, snow continued to fall, creating a serene winter wonderland. The world seemed to pause as Y/n and Evan rediscovered the joy of being together. As the clock struck midnight, they stood by the window, gazing at the snow-covered city, grateful for the second chance Christmas had bestowed upon their love.
And so, in the quietude of that magical Christmas Eve, Y/n and Evan found that even after the fiercest storms, love could weather the challenges and emerge stronger, just like the enchanting tale of New York that played softly in the background.
