MST3K's most wanted
I've been organizing my Mystery Science Theater 3000 collection, so I've become preoccupied with the handful of episodes that are not easily available, and the reasons why. In case in anyone else is interested, I thought I'd share what I've learned.
For our purposes we'll be focusing on the ten seasons that aired on cable, from 1989 to 1999. With the post-2017 episodes, it's trivial to purchase them on home video or streaming. And the pre-cable stuff, from KTMA, is widely available as bootleg footage, which is probably about as good as you're ever going to get. But the episodes from the cable era have been notoriously difficult to re-release, and require special attention.
Of the 176 MST3K episodes that aired on cable, 166 have been released on home video, and 145 are available for streaming/download on the Gizmoplex. As someone who's been trying to collect the whole series since the 1990s, I think that's pretty impressive. But there are 40 episodes that have been particularly tricky. Let's take a look, won't you?
Currently available on the Gizmoplex, but never on home video (1):
913 - Quest of the Delta Knights
As I understand it, nobody was sure who owned the rights to this movie, or how to contact them, for years. The situation has only recently been cleared up, perhaps too late for a DVD release.

I was able to find the DVD sets listed above on Shout Factory's website. As far as I know, they'll remain in print for the foreseeable future, but there's no way to know how long that will last.
The general pattern with these episodes is that the movies are owned by major studios that would only license them for physical media. Columbia owns Teen-Age Crime Wave and 12 to the Moon. MGM owns Girls Town and The Incredible Melting Man. Paramount owns Diabolik. But the big player here is Universal, which controls the rights to Space Travelers, San Francisco International, Revenge of the Creature, Leech Woman, Mole People, Deadly Mantis, Thing That Couldn't Die, Riding With Death, Agent for H.A.R.M., and Projected Man.
The odd man out here is Colossus and the Headhunters; I can't find any info on who owns the rights to this film, which may be part of the problem.
The real hard cases, the stickiest of wickets, are below...

Megalon and Colossal Man were both recalled when rights issues came up after they were released. Oops. These were produced by Rhino, back before Shout Factory took over.
The Final Sacrifice is particularly tough to find, even unofficially, because director Tjardus Greidanus is very aggressive about tracking down download links. I always figured someone was similarly possessive of Soultaker, since it's clearly a passion project, but that's purely my speculation.
The Turkey Day DVD set is still available on Amazon at a reasonable price, so Squirm is still relatively accessible for now.

In 2017, Shout released its final (?) MST3K DVD collection, which included Satellite Dishes, a compilation of host segments from episodes that "may never get a legitimate release." This included the nine listed above, as well as The Amazing Colossal Man and Quest for the Delta Knights. Of course, Delta Knights eventually got a digital-only release, which is cause for a glimmer of hope. But the others are probably tougher nuts to crack.
Wade Williams owned the rights to Rocketship X-M and had a particular sentimental attachment to the film. His death in 2023 may make it easier to negotiate with his estate, but I wouldn't count on that being a swift process.
Godzilla vs. Megalon and Godzilla vs. The Sea Monster are part of a prestigious franchise, and it's remarkable MST3K got away with riffing on Godzilla movies in the first place. I get the impression that Japanese culture doesn't particularly appreciate the sort of mockery MST3K is known for, so the rights to these two movies may be a long, long shot. Then again I used to think there was no hope of for the Gamera episodes too.
Fire Maidens, Deadly Bees, and Space Children are owned by Olive Films, and currently licensed to Paramount. It's possible a deal can be made later on, but not until the current arrangement expires.
The major bugbear for MST3K fandom is Susan Hart, the widow of American International Pictures co-founder James Nicholson. One way or another the AIP catalog was split up and Hart laid claim to several of their films, including Amazing Colossal Man, It Conquered the World, Eye Creatures, Terror from the Year 5000, and Teenage Werewolf. Hart's price for licensing her movies is very high, and it seems Shout has given up negotiating with her. I suppose the situation could change when she passes away, but I'd feel rather silly hoping for an old woman to die just so I can pay 8 bucks to watch robots laugh at a werewolf movie.
In conclusion, I've already purchased all the movies available on the Gizmoplex (I got most of them in a Kickstarter reward package), and the 31 that aren't available there can be obtained by, ahem, other means. So it's a great time to be an MST3K fan, and I'm still amazed how easy it is to watch the show nowadays.

Hello there, I recently took an interest into Niji X Cosette duo to fan art. But I still have mix feeling about it because of the canon but they are kinda cute together. So how do you deal with your feelings towards this ship?

That's a good question 👀 and apparently, it's a FAQ for me, given the fact I've been rambling about them for 6 years and counting 👀💀
TBH with you anon, it all started back in 2017-2018 when I rewatched and reread OP again after hearing Sanji's getting married to Pudding in WCI 👀 I stopped because I was in highschool and getting ready to review for college entrance exams that time.💀So I need to take a break from long-running animes and focus for my exams.
I tried to keep up with both the manga and the anime, and apparently, my TL on twitter back then passed a NijiCose fanart and got spoiled before reaching the actual episode 800-802💀😭 that fanart was from @ovaCkuyuri... Here's a pixiv log of the said NijiCose fanarts:
At first I already knew they're problematic based on how they're interpreted on the fanarts (like Niji being a Tsundere to Cosette, and her acting nervous and flustered around him). But as I continued to watch and reread the manga... I noticed something interesting as well on Niji's character on manga that was documented on his profile page in OP wiki:
So far, he has the most "redeeming qualities from his modified brothers 👀 I know it says that his values totally contrast against Sanji, but I still have hopes for him.
In the series tho, I wish for a closure and reconciliation for both Niji and Cosette once the Vinsmoke siblings' modifications have been reversed. I want Niji to genuinely apologize to her and pay her back for everything.
Also, to answer your question how do I deal with this ship, I simply view them as problematic and angsty, yet a redeemable ship.
For sure, Cosette is traumatized deeply from Niji, and for sure she's totally aware of the modification story of the Vinsmoke siblings when she was hired in Germa. She knows what she's getting into when she was hired as their Royal Head Chef. Hopefully we got some backstory of how she got there in the first place 👀
I always daydream of them getting slowburned from Niji's existential crisis as humanity regains from his senses as he feels horribly guilty about his wrong doings as a warmonger, not just to Cosette; and Cosette knowing that he's not born to be evil in the first place, tolerating and slowly tries to understand him.

Didn't drink for a weekend, still woke up at 4 AM feeling terrible and unable to go back to sleep. I was under the impression that not having this happen anymore would be an advantage to not drinking. Not drinking was really hard, what was the point if I still wake up at 4 AM feeling terrible and unable to get back to sleep so I'll be exhausted at work all day? I wasn't drinking often enough before to have withdrawal or anything, the feeling terrible is just lack of ability to decompress without alcohol. Which I guess sorts itself out eventually. Or possibly needs to be actively sorted out. I went for a run and played a Pokemon hack and listened to XFM radio episodes from 2015 all weekend, what else am I supposed to do?
On that note, I have to say, holy hell is Pokemon Unbound ever good. I made a couple of posts about it a few months ago when I first started playing, I’m now just over 200 hours in and this is the best Pokemon game I’ve ever played. And I’ve played a lot of Pokemon games, from the main line and ROM hacks.
This is the one that has everything. A choice of difficulty settings, which seems like such an obvious thing for Game Freak to add into the main games, as a simple solution to fact that the kids game has become popular with adults because it has really good game mechanics, but the drawback that adults are then playing a game with difficulty settings calibrated for kids. Just let them choose the level they want and then everyone can play.
It also has a mission log built into the main game, which is such an elegant solution to the issue that if you follow the traditional template of a Pokemon game, you can add lots of features but the story itself only lasts so long and there is only so much variety that can be added. Pokemon Unbound still does the traditional story, but also lets you formally track the side quests so they become part of “beating the game” as well, which is how I’ve played over 200 hours and still have plenty more to do. I presently have 705 Pokemon of the 802-Pokemon Pokedex, so that’s the main thing still to do, as filling up the Pokedex is one of the missions. But even if I manage that, there are still lots more of them.
Literally as I write this, at 5 AM after I gave up on sleeping and decided to turn on my computer to play Pokemon and listen to XFM radio episodes from 2015 until I have to go to work, I've heard John Robins make fun of someone for playing Pokemon as an adult. So before I end this post, I have to say, fuck off, you ruined your life with Candy Crush. I've heard a number of comedians take the anti-Pokemon stance, but not usually ones who regularly talk about how they ruin their own life with addiction to iPhone games. That is not a defensible position.

In case anyone was wondering, at all, when I said in my last post I was having some maths fails...
The problem with my brief foray into "measuring things in Stellas" back in January, is that for the most part, the exterior shots of Alfea are (or seem to be*) CG. It's done in a way that matches the visuals and vibes of the cartoon portion of the show, but as far as I'm aware, the majority of outside shots are done with characters drawn on top of the CG environment.
This leads to some... interesting discrepancies in the comparative sizes between characters and environmental objects like the main entrance to Alfea.
(* when I say 'seems to be,' there are some discrepancies like moving window placement and missing grass patches in some episodes which suggests they aren't simply doing tracking shots over a single, base model.)
Using some guesstimations to calculate the width of the double doors of the two side buildings and the area around them, I came to a width of 4.5 meters, and this matters because the central pathway of the courtyard that runs between them seems to be roughly the same width. Using that measurement an the most overhead close up I could find from my collection, I've estimated the width of the central path running from the gate to the central building to be roughly 5.62 meters.
The edge of the pathway looks like it matches up with the outer edge of the gate's arch, where the two curves (archway and wall) kiss into the dirt. (These points are marked with green dots in the top picture, and the one below.)
From there, working on the assumption that that length was 5.62 m in total, I used my line and stamp method (where I draw a line and use the paint program's stamp feature to copy the line exactly and move it and stamp it repeatedly to see how many time's one length fits against another) to figure out what fraction of the gate is gate and how much was archway.
The arch's width didn't quite measure the same as the gate's opening at ground level, but some checking of the difference revealed the arch was ¾ of the gate, and thus, the gate was ⁴∕₇ of the total width.
5.62 = ⁷∕₇ ∴ 5.62/7 = ¹∕₇ = 0.802857 = .802 meters
the arch total width ³∕₇ = 0.802 * 3 = 2.408 m ∴ 1 arch width = 2.408 / 2 = 1.204 m
the gate at ground level ⁴∕₇ = 0.802 * 4 = 3.211 m ∴ from arch to gate center (one wing at ground level) = 3.211 / 2 = 1.605 m
using the base line measures at ground level, the stamp method and the flip by 90° function, I roughly calculated the gate opening at the widest point to be just shy of 2.4 m from the center, or just shy of 4.8 meters across and sitting at about 1.86 m from the ground.
given my door based height guesstimate of Stella's height (and thereby the average height of the Winx) at roughly 1.75 m, this puts the max width just above their heads.
looking into some architecture based person dimensions to see how the various shots of people and the gate stack up, I used the average shoulder width of (405mm or) .405 m.
I first checked if the five girls could stand shoulder to shoulder in the gateway and found they could. Then I checked if they would have room between them, assuming half a person width on either side (between each other and the arch) for 3 more people widths.
.405 * 5 = 2.025 m
.405 * 8 = 3.24 m
Looking at this shot, the point of max width in the gate is sitting at just above their heads, right about where I'd expect given the height assumption.
This shot is therefore what I'd consider to be the most realistic in terms of person vs environment sizing.
More importantly, or equally importantly? The School busses.
Doing some digging, I discovered that the most types of busses have a width of 2.55m (thought the height can range from 2.67 to 3.81m) which means I feel pretty confidant that the Alfea school busses could clear the gate if my calculations are correct.
Along the font fence-line, on the outside stretches (as marked by the two front towers) there are two more gates, both 'one-winged' single gates. A quick measure suggests that the single gates + arches are roughly the same width as the double gates at ground level, which if the arches are the same width as the doubles and the single wings are the same as the individual wings on the main entrance:
arches = 1.2m * 2 = 2.4m total + single gate wing 1.6m = 4m at the outside of the arch at ground level
although given the lack of curve on the inside of the two archways could make them slightly slimmer, 4 m does seem to fit with the path beyond them in comparison to the central path in the courtyard.
I need you all to understand that as convoluted as calculating the gate width is, it is still less nonsensical than the windows in the Winx Dorms.

Some arcs like Wano Country have to be cut a little in order fit the 8 episode season and some arcs who are in diffrent sagas have to be pushed together, like Skypiea and Long Ring Long Land. I made this having the pacing of Season 1 in mind and the generell lenght of the arcs including in some seasons a character side story. Don't take this too seriously, it's just a little thought experiment of mine. Since we don't know how long the series will actually last and if it will even reach the end of One Piece.

hurrah i finished my report but now i have one more midterm :(
Section: sharing audience’s stories. The trio can categorise the stories by: “This is very interesting”, “This makes me curious”, and “I don’t understand at all” (Translator: they should all be galileo catchphrases but I don’t recognise the second one...)

I went to have lunch by myself in a little restaurant. There were also some white collars, and a mother with a young child. One of the white collars sneezed very loudly. The child loudly said, “Mummy, there’s a doggie!” I tried very hard not to laugh.
Ko: What kind of sneezing was that?
Masha: (barks)

Kazuki: I rate this a “This makes me curious”!

At this moment, my friend texted me saying, “Fu-chan, your mic is on.” My face was drained of colour. (ko: oh no) I felt despair for the very first time in my life. (ko: that sucks😫) There were 200 people in the zoom, most of whom I don’t know. Ten of friends texted to rant at me. They couldn’t hear the sound from the TV, and they asked me, “Fu-chan, are you with your boyfriend?” I was so embarrassed, and I could only explain to them that I was watching Galileo.
Masha: Oh dear.😖

I think the impact Kenobi has on the sequels is kinda going under going under the radar
As I saw someone else say, what makes SW spin offs good is how they can give greater meaning to the source,
Leia's meeting and connection with Obi-Wan recontextualizes her faith in him in ANH, that's obvious
But it also helped improve the sequels, it's subtle, but it's there
For 6 years we've wondered why Han and Leia named their son after a guy they barely knew/didn't like or didn't get a chance to meet
And now we know, Ben Kenobi was the Jedi knight who came to Leia's rescue when she was a little girl, risked everything to save her, the embodiment of the stories she'd heard
Of course she named her son after him
This little thing just gives so much regarding Leia and Kylo, it makes his turn to the dark side that much more tragic
And this is what we need
This is how you improve the sequels, little things that add up, providing new insights on the characters, locations, events, and organizations

SHUN NAKAO x Chignitta藝廊訪談 1
那麼就正式開始了。
2024年2月，藝術家中尾舜在京町堀Chigunita藝廊的「AS」個展，由畫廊負責人谷口純弘先生親自主持開幕對談，為觀眾們介紹在藝大時代組成開始活動的藝術團體「透明回線」，以街頭現場的即興繪畫訓練時期作為起點、到UNKNOWN ASIA的展示，直至目前個人活動開展的故事，以及作品製作的理念等。
現場也有身為大粉絲的Chigunita工作人員泉風花，以及當天的特邀嘉賓ヤマモトヒロユキ先生（PICTO.INC的負責人山本先生）和瀧本章雄先生（ART Lab OMM負責人）也分享了他們的見解。

藝術活動的起源─透明回線
─谷口：我想稍稍地回顧一下中尾君作為創作者、包括透明回線的經歷、從學生時代開始進入藝術大學的原因以及到現在的一切，（Shun：淺薄的經歷（笑））才不淺呢！這不是還有熱騰騰地新系列嗎！在這邊可能有���人是第一次聽到這些，所以我想稍微提一下，那麼首先，你是為什麼進入大阪藝術大學的？然後透明回線的開始是如何的、期間有什麼故事？
Shun: 我小時候就一直喜歡很畫畫，因為我常常生病、不太能出去玩，一直都是喜歡畫圖的媽媽在教我畫圖，從那時候開始我就一直很喜歡畫畫，高中和初中時每天都在畫。高中的時候我本來沒考慮過要繼續升學，但我來自兵庫縣的朝來市，那邊是個偏遠的鄉下。（谷口：你想離開那裡對吧？）對，我想離開那個地方，我一直覺得我不會留在那裡，但即使選擇繼續升學我也不想讀書。
當時藝術大學本來完全不在我的選擇範圍裡，因為根本完全不知道有這個選擇，也不知道有大阪藝術大學這個學校，直到我的導師有天跟我說：「你那麼喜歡畫圖，那為什麼不試試看去考藝術大學？」於是我就去了藝術大學。…我唯一覺得最棒的事情是在那邊組成了透明回線，現在回想當時像是莫名被牽引了的感覺吧？那年學校文化祭上，大我們四屆叫WHOLE9的前輩正在現場畫壁畫，我們兩個看著他們想說：「我們也能做到吧？」這就是最初的契機，感覺一起做同件事應該會蠻有趣的，一開始我跟うきち本來只是普通同學，後來找來了TOSHIO製作影像和音樂，這就是透明回線成立的契機，但我們一開始根本都做不好，前輩實在是太厲害了。
─谷口：所以是從2009年開始的？還是大概在哪一年？
Shun：是在2012年。

─谷口：原來如此，我記得從2000年初開始有個叫DOPPE的團體開始進行現場壁畫活動，雖然DOPPE只在京都啦，然後也有像透明回線和WHOLE9這樣在大阪開始進行現場壁畫活動的團體，當然當時也有很多其他也同樣令人驚嘆的團體，透明回線也是那其中之一。
Shun: 是啊，然後...雖然不是最近的事，但有開始有新人出現了，終於不再是最資淺的了（笑）。當時和現在完全不同，當時真的每個週末都在參與某處的活動，雖然不完全是現場壁畫但相當頻繁，我們去了長濱、京都、奈良，彷彿所有人都在畫壁畫一樣，當時也有很多前輩，還蠻恐怖的，因為原本現場壁畫是源自於塗鴉的街頭文化，但我們並不是從街頭文化中成長的，既不是滑板人、也不是嘻哈仔，所以身邊的前輩們都有點恐怖，總覺得他們是不是用很奇異的眼光看著我們，這是我自己的想法啦。
─谷口: 我懂，而且基本上還是有上下級的關係。
Shun: 對啊。然後每個圖看起來都還是有點零散的感覺，而且因為不是畫以嘻哈或街頭為主題的圖所以每次都超緊張。

─谷口: 原來如此，當時我就覺得你們這些來自不同地方的人們都很厲害啊，一直在看著呢，不過與其說是我，不如說是古谷先生吧，他的眼光果然很好，也總是做著很帥氣的工作，像是美國村的Digmeout Art & Diner，那裡也辦了很多活動，每當有大型活動時你們都在前輩的指導下以工作人員的身份做了很多事情，雖然參與了不少但卻很少會被提及呢，總覺得你們三人組一直很努力，每次都覺得「下一次就會輪到我們！」的這點相當了不起。
Shun: 真的是受益匪淺呀，即使現在也是受到古谷先生很多的幫助，也多虧古谷先生我們才有在第一次在UNKNOWN ASIA亮相的機會。
─谷口: 那是哪一年的UNKNOWN ASIA？大概是2017或18年左右？是第一次的公開參展嗎？
Shun: 那是哪一年...大概是2018年吧，好像不是2016年那次。
（註：這邊指的應該是2018年獲得「Reviewer Prize(評審特別賞)」和「Judges Prize玉置泰紀賞」的那次，展覽作品如下。）

─谷口: 我還記得當時的盛況呢，當時你們的作品讓包含評審在內大概有20幾個人都「哇－」地驚嘆著，雖然並不是拿到最大賞，實���上卻已經勝出了，我感覺在那之後透明回線的狀態也會不斷地再更上層樓，這樣也很強呢。
Shun: 之前真的一直是這樣呢，我們每週都能在某個地方進行大型繪畫活動的巡迴，收到來自UNKNOWN ASIA評審們的評價，甚至是從一些我不認識的評論中獲得收穫的時候也是，當看到牆壁畫滿了作品時、或者是獲得了一些不同的面向的觀看視角時、好好面對地自己的作品時，總覺得...如果不好好用心創作的話，就不配稱之為藝術品也有愧於團隊了，這對我來說是很大的影響。
─谷口：是說，透明回線與其他這類現場繪畫團體不同的地方就是能夠充分利用影像呢，還有製作動畫的能力，果然光是能夠做出在大阪城展演廳的動畫這一點就已經與其他繪畫團體做出區隔了。在大阪城展演廳的開場動畫，張數之類的大概也要自己畫個幾千張吧。
Shun: 我覺得我們是一個樣樣通樣樣鬆的團體耶，但也意外地是幾乎什麼都可以做的團體。大阪城的那個我們是用鉛筆畫的，大概有500張左右，我們兩人一起合力畫了幾千張再掃描進行數位處理（谷口：啪拉啪拉地一張張變成動畫那樣。）是啊，現在絕對不可能再這樣做作品了。

─谷口：就是從那時候開始的對吧，得到了來自各處的迴響。
Shun: 是呀，很多人知道我們會製作動畫，因此開始從各處來了動畫工作的機會，甚至有機會製作音樂錄影帶等等，我們的工作範圍也變得更廣了。而且透明回線通常不會做太多練習或實驗，我們總是一邊想一邊直接正式的來，一直是以這種感覺在工作，所以每做完一個項目，就會想到下一步可以做什麼，我們不斷嘗試新的事物，那時真的非常享受呢，因為有機會嘗試各種不同的事情。

─谷口：一邊不斷提升經驗值，然後朝下一個目標前進對吧，那麼在這過程中，你也開始了作為透明回線成員的SOLO活動了對吧。嗯...該怎麼說呢，你不再是插畫家或現場繪畫師，而是開始轉向對外展示的形式了吧？而這次的個展也是如此，那麼在這方面，你又是基於什麼變化呢？
Shun：這完全是源自我自己內在的一個轉折，新冠疫情就是一個契機，在新冠病毒爆發前我都自認是一名插畫家，覺得就算一直是插畫家也很好，而藝術家的身份則是作為透明回線的一部分，但當新冠疫情爆發時，藝術工作在日本幾乎是首先被中斷的，各式活動也都停止了，當時很多公司也因為這種情況而停止了發布新產品。(谷口：真的是很糟啊，什麼都不能做）是的，所以當時對當時正在從事插畫業務的我來說，工作幾乎為零，突然發現「欸？」自己在這個國家是完全不被人所需要的，當時我感到很迷惘，恰好受到古谷先生的邀請...那時候心齋橋PARCO的SkiiMa Gallery剛開幕。

Mouse (2021) Ep. 16 Recap
The sudden death of Chi-Kook has shocked everyone. Ba-Reum is trying to convince Chi-Kook's mother to request an autopsy. Detective Go has started to doubt that Sung Yo-Han was the real killer and is digging deeper into Song Soo-Ho's past.

Moo-Chi follows Ba-Reum into the hospital's main hall where they discover that Chi-Kook has passed away due to a heart attack. Ba-Reum is shocked by this news. He notices a muddy footprint on the ground and sets off to find the culprit. Ba-Reum chases the perpetrator to a hotel rooftop where he grabs him by the throat and demands to know why he killed Chi-Kook. However, another attacker appears and beats the perpetrator with a pipe. Ba-Reum witnesses this and drops the attacker off the roof. When he reaches the ground level, he finds no one there.
Later, Moo-Chi arrives and joins him in talking to the receptionist. The case becomes even more mysterious. There is no one staying in Room 802, and there is no evidence of a fight in the room. Moo-Chi only trusts the registration plate that Ba-Reum recites, which he remembers from the CCTV footage. While searching, the pair discovers that the room has been cleaned up. Evidence of this is found in the form of broth that Ba-Reum threw, which is still visible in the cracks of the floorboards. However, this does not explain Chi-Kook's disappearance, as the bloodwork confirms no signs of poisoning. The doctors believe that Ba-Reum is losing his mind, and they eventually convince Chi-Kook's mother not to sign the consent form of an autopsy.
Ba-Reum pays his respects to Chi-Kook, but the situation worsens when other victim's families arrive. Ba-Reum loses control and even Bong-Yi cannot calm him down. He eventually lashes out and goes outside to cool off.
Moo-Chi learns that Yo-Han was a father, and Hong-Joo was the mother. Ba-Reum composes himself to walk with the coffin and say goodbye to the officer. He notices another funeral that day for Lee Pil-Seung, who looks like a family member but has a different name and family. Outside, Ba-Reum almost gets hit by a car. The car that hit him before is the one in question.
Sung Ji-Eun responds to an ad for a nanny and goes to see Hong-Joo. Hong-Joo agrees to hire her and quickly leaves to interview one of her victims for her latest show. Before leaving, Hong-Joo comments on how the child has Yo-Han's eyes.
At the police station, Moo-Chi reviews the footage related to Deok-Soo's statement. Detective Lee received the statement, but there is a two-hour gap before he informed the police. The possibility of being deceived is raised. Moo-Chi suspects that Detective Lee may have been involved in the murders of Deok-Soo and Chi-Kook. Moo-Chi begins to doubt the validity of Yo-Han killing the victims in the past.
Ba-Reum conducts his own search and discovers that the man threw off the rooftop is real and not an illusion. He also happens to be his uncle, the same man from the funeral earlier in the episode. It appears that whoever is covering their tracks must be a professional, as the crime scene has been completely wiped clean, except for a spatter of blood that Ba-Reum manages to find. Ba-Reum has been deceived his entire life as his mother never had a sister. This raises the question of who the woman claiming to be his aunt really is.
In flashbacks, we see Ba-Reum as a child sitting outside his house when a woman approached him and introduced herself as his aunt. She adopted him and allowed Jae-Hoon to choose his name, which became Ba-Reum. However, it is unclear whether the adoption was ever officially registered. The registry has no record of Ba-Reum's family ties, which could explain this situation. Ba-Reum is now retracing his childhood, visiting the elementary school he attended.
Bong-Yi catches up with Song Soo-Ho's mother and tries to convince her not to do the interview. However, she is adamant about projecting a message: Yo-Han is not the real killer.
Ba-Reum retraces his steps, heading back to his old home and seeing flashes of his mother being killed. After believing he had killed everyone in his family, he slumped back in despair. However, another flash revealed that Soo-HO was the one who killed his mother. It is possible that Jae-Hoon killed Soo-Ho as revenge, which may have started his murderous rampage.
