Buring said that it was a different scene that was her most difficult to shoot — the scene where Tissaia leaves a letter for her mentee, Yennefer (Anya Chalotra).
The actor said: "It was the scene beforehand that I found really emotional. I had to read the letter that I write to Yennefer, and I sort of read it over and over again. And so, in my mind, that was playing over and over again while we were shooting the scene. And, suddenly, that's when I went, 'Oh God, that stings.'"

Anya Chalotra, who plays Yennefer, told Insider in a joint interview with Freya Allan that her "greatest experiences on the show" were working with Buring.
"She's a force," Chalotra said. "I wouldn't be the person I am today without her, quite honestly. So, yeah, it was hard. And I hope people this season are as in awe of her and what she's done for the show as I am, as we all are."
Allan, who plays Ciri, said that she was "really emotional" watching Buring's final scenes because she knew how close Chalotra and Buring became on set.
"I know how much she's meant to you in this whole journey," she said, turning to Chalotra. "Especially season one being so hard, and her being there with you through that."

"He destroyed everything I loved." (3x08)
I know Yennefer was just hinting that everything around her was crumbling down (Aretuza literally, Ciri was missing, Geralt was probably dying and Tissaia dead) but right after that she's talking about Tissaias death. She said that they have nothing left now that Tissaia is dead. So my little Yennaia heart totally believes that Tissaia was her "everything" and that she felt totally lost without her since she said the have nothing left.
I don't think this interpretation is reaching all that far to be honest. Tissaia is the person she references explicitly after that statement so I say we can have it.

It was really heartbreaking to see how Yennefer cries over Tissaias body, no question. I cried by myself when I watched that scene. Watching Yennefer feel it happening, she found and held and then sobbed over her body... The acting was just... wow.
But can we please talk for a second about how Tissaia cried for Yennefer at the beginning of 2x01 after Vilgefuck left her and stabs dead soldiers? Like I am not talking about that last scream that came at the top of her lungs which could freeze my blood and gave me goose pimple. But I am talking about the first and second time right before that.
She was out there for hours probably days, searching in the head of every soldier for any hints of Yennefer. And then Vilgefuck tells her that she is gone... She couldn't feel Yennefers chaos, everything indicated that she was dead and she was still trying everything to find her. She was so done with everything and still cried her name. Yes, I said cried. Because the firdt two times you can't call it anything else. Because she sounded so tired and desperate at the same time before she broke our hearts even more with that last scream.
Really, Tissaia shouts Yennefer's name in the forest ... that tired "Yennefer...?" with her desperate look with which she has still searched her surroundings. It sometimes just appears out of nowhere in my head and shakes my heart.
The acting was just… wow.
Anya did say that her reaction on screen is was her own reaction to the scene.
We know there's always the source material but when you read the script, and you saw how that death was going to unfold, what was your reaction?
What you see. Yeah, it was horrible. Also, I just don't want MyAnna to go. Yes, it was Yennefer and Tissaia, and I was playing that beat. But it's a loss to the show as well. She's carried a lot of people.
Yes, I said cried.
Oh, I don't think there's any doubt that she's crying. Her mascara has run for one thing 😉
I agree on all counts, anon. The acting in both of those scenes is top notch and speaks to their deep bond. (Have to say I was pretty surprised at the depth of Tissaia's feelings and how openly she displayed them in ep 2.01, but I was here for it.)

Do you think Tissaia could feel how Yennefer cut her wrists in 2x08 again? Maybe by a spell Tissaia used back then to make sure Yennefer wouldn't try again/ made sure she would feel it if she did?
And now I'm thinking of Tissaia grabbing her wrist and hissing in pain like Yen did in 3.08. But then smiling as she feels Yen's magic return.

Headcanon:
Always when Yennefer felt lost, desperate or faithless she's looking at the scars on her wrists and found strength. Because they reminded her on what she survived and that Tissaia saved her because she thought she was worth it. Yennefer knows that hardly anyone would blink if she died. But Tissaia would because she did it once and saved her. So after she looks at her scars she found new strength because they reminded her on Tissaia and that she WAS worth it for the older woman.
Until Tissaia died.
After her death anything Yennefer feels when she looks at them she feels guilt. Like she failed because she couldn't saved Tissaia as she saved her so many years ago.
The scars in which she used to find strength because of Tissaia now only cause pain.
Ouch, anon. Ouch.

If my future partner doesn't look like Yen when someone tried to talk shit about me as she did in 3x08 when Philippa talks with Tissaia, I don't want them.
No because Yennefer was ready to throwing hands in that scene and that death stare. If looks could kill... Philippa was lucky that they weren't alone in that scene.
I would dearly love to agree with you, anon...but I don't see it?
I think she remains fairly neutral until she tells them to stop bickering.
I would have loved for her to step in front of Tissaia protectively, or glare at Philippa, but I really don't see it.
But it's all down to interpretation, isn't it? So I'm glad that you can take away more from this scene than me 😊
