eli...doesn't really remember the last time he saw his reflection with his own two eyes.

he always seems to forget how his own face looks like, too.

having brooke rose play the role of his eyes after going blind, he doesn't bother taking off his blindfold most of the time

when brooke's not around, he uses touch to get by - tapping the walls around him, sensing the texture of them with his thumb to locate himself

eli knows walls can't talk, of course. but one day, they did - a smooth glossy wall, from behind it was more than a mere knock coming through

with no owl to aid him, eli stands baffled in front of - what he doesn't know is - a mirror, staring blankly at the direction of the whispers he hears, not knowing that he's facing you directly

he's not a stranger to visions and prophecies, but this time it sounds too loud and clear to be a hallucination, beyond his mind's eye

eventually, he finds the courage to talk back, to ask and answer. the voice is human, light, melodic, but when he tries to reach out for their face, all he feels underneath his palms is the cold, smooth surface of the mirror

now with brooke on his shoulder, he regularly passes by the spot he first heard your voice, secretly anticipating another call from beyond his reflection, wanting to see your face

he tries to catch a glimpse - frequently he'll watch the mirror from behind a corner, waiting for your fleeting image to appear for a mere second

to his shock, the next time he heard your voice it came from the grandfather clock at the main entrance of the manor

hidden between the roman numerals, your visage appears, just for a moment. it's transparent, disappearing with the rays of the sun and appearing again with the shadows, but it disperses his cautiousness

even when blind, wherever he is in the manor, he can hear your voice

the bathroom mirror, a heart locket, a coin in his satchel, he tends to foolishly press his face against the polish to hear you better, to submerge your voice in his brain

and, as always, he whispers back to you, hands cupped around whatever object he's communicating through

he keeps you close at all times :) maybe as a shard inside his pocket or a silver necklace

when on walks outside he points them at the sky or nature, hoping their beauty will reach you

keeps wary of all sorts of reflective objects you may appear in

and sometimes, just sometimes, when mary swings his mirror shard at him, he hopes he'll catch your pair of eyes watching from her hands, cheering on for him to go on and do his best

Hi! Yes I love Aesop and Eli (I think I have a pretty odd interpretation of Aesop though- so apologies in advance lol)

Aesop and Eli when their S/O gets into a fight

｡☆✼★━━━━━━━━━━━━★✼☆｡

Pairings : Aesop x Reader, Eli x Reader

Tw : Blood (bloody nose- injury)

｡☆✼★━━━━━━━━━━━━★✼☆｡

1) Aesop | Embalmer

|⚰️| Aesop is probably one of the least likely people to step in and fight for you, first of all. He’s never been the type to lay his hands on another person. That being said, he probably has other ways of getting back at them for hitting you (will mention later)

|⚰️| Assuming you’re still conscious after being punched, he’d walk to to Emily’s room in order to have you looked at- eyes staring at the forming bruise and blood dripping from your nose

|⚰️| If you’re unconscious, he’d probably look over you himself first. He’s a little creepy at times- and definitely loves how peaceful you look while asleep. (Also- it’s unlikely you feel any pain while knocked out- extra bonus!)

|⚰️| He can’t help but think that In some messed up way, you’re almost pretty/handsome like this.

|⚰️| If your clothing is covered with blood from your nosebleed- you’re unlikely to be receiving any of Aesops clothing off of his own back, he’s a huge germaphobe.

|⚰️| The embalmer will, however, go to your room and bring you a change of your own clothing (or maybe some of his if he’s feeling generous..). That way you won’t have to sit in that shirt of yours.

|⚰️| As I mentioned earlier- Aesop doesn’t like to get blood on his hands directly, but has other means of getting back at people who hurt anyone he cares about or himself.

|⚰️| In this case, he’d likely mess around with them for a while, not enough to hurt them- but enough to scare the person who hurt you into backing off.

|⚰️| This usually stays at just odd stare downs and glares, along with a few blunt words from Aesop. But if the fight was bad enough, best believe Aesop will do his best to screw them over in the next matches he has with them.

|⚰️| You’re one of the only living (perhaps?) people he loves, if anyone hurt you- he’d probably not take it very well.

2) Eli | Seer

|🤍| Eli’s inability to directly see what’s occurring would make it very unlikely that he’d step into the fight. Instead, he’d probably do his best to convince you two to stop. Or, if needs be, call for help from another manor resident.

|🤍| He can’t see how bad the damage is unless Brooke is with him.. and assuming he may not under this circumstance- he’d probably take you to Emily just to make sure you’re fine.

|🤍| He’s super gentle when touching your face after finding out you had been punched there, worried he could potentially cause more pain. (Not in a himbo way but in like a caring way idk)

|🤍| Quite awkward approaching the subject with you, but Eli does scold you quite a bit for getting into a fight in the first place

|🤍| “what were you thinking, (name)? You could have gotten much more hurt than you did!”

|🤍| Like Aesop- he wouldn’t do anything physical to your attacker (but for Eli, it’s simply because he isn’t in a good condition for fighting. If he could see, he’d probably deliver the other person a quick smack)

|🤍| Instead, the other person can safely bet they will not be receiving any owls or protection from Eli for a while.

|🤍| He does hold grudges to an extent when it comes to people harming his loved ones, and would probably be upset and anxious about you getting into a fight for weeks afterwards.

Synopsis: Just Aesop crushing on Eli and doing his makeup.

Something Aesop could have never imagined: Eli in his room and Aesop doing his makeup. Shaking, his gloved hands brushed back Eli’s fluffy hair and pinned it back leaving his face beautifully unobstructed. Aesop had never seen such beautiful eyes. Sparkles seemed to dance tirelessly through waves of pale blue. Aesop glanced at the discarded blindfold and wished he could see Eli’s eyes more often. The morning sun encased their faces in gold, and Aesop took one more long glance at Eli’s soft face before gathering his brushes.

“Close your eyes…” Aesop said. Eli politely nodded and obeyed, his long eyelashes resting upon gold-tinted cheeks. Aesop could not stop himself from admiring Eli for two moments too long. Embarrassed, he quickly snatched a brush and nervously swept his hair out of his face. His heart sped up as he leaned in closer to the man who had been plaguing his thoughts for months. He thought of the first day Eli had come up to him and started a conversation. How neat his clothes and mannerisms were in contrast to his messy brown hair. How Aesop had always wished to see his eyes and feel his hair.

A small smile emerged as Aesop pushed those thoughts away. Aesop carefully brushed Eli’s face, but not a moment later Eli laughed! Aesop stiffened. Why was Eli laughing? He could not have messed up this early!

“I’ve never had my makeup done before. It is… quite nice.” Eli said, leaning closer to Aesop. Aesop leaned back in return; Eli was making him nervous. Too nervous. He liked it? Aesop had hardly done anything, yet he says he likes it. Aesop scrutinized the other’s smiling face and returned more relaxed to his work.

By now, there was nothing left of the morning sun’s rays except the warmth on the men’s faces. Aesop had pulled the gold right from the sun and draped it over Eli’s eyelids, so he shimmered with every move. Eli had always rivaled the sun in beauty and vitality, so Aesop conquered the sun for him. He traced the gold over the scars as well intimating an illuminated god.

“Open your eyes.” Aesop said softly.

“Do I look pretty, Aesop?” Eli asked. Aesop froze once again; of course, Eli was pretty, way more than pretty. He was the morning sun, the clearest ocean, and the brightest stars. Eli was the world. His beauty exceeded eathly descriptors, but how could Aesop say anything like this? Eli’s usually steady smile wavered. Aesop remained silent. Eli cautiously called out Aesop’s name.

“Yes, very pretty.” Aesop curtly replied. The sparkle in Eli’s eyes faded just a touch at the brevity of Aesop’s words. Aesop’s face contorted in worry, knowing he said the wrong thing. Eli quickly thanked Aesop and left, taking all the light in Aesop with him. Aesop felt empty. He could have told Eli every last thing he saw and felt, but he did not. He sat and stared into his empty room, eyes focused on something beyond physical. He stayed that way for a while.

Aesop let his eyes drift through his room. A flash of yellow. His gaze landed on the single yellow rose in the corner of the dull room. He delicately held the rose and slowly picked the thorns off. Then he scoured his room for paper and began to write. He wrote and wrote and wrote. Aesop filled the page with every thought and memory he could. Aesop then hurriedly shuffled to Eli’s room and set the letter and rose before his door. He rapidly knocked three times and then disappeared down the hallway. Aesop hoped that now Eli could see how much light he brought into Aesop’s life.

he would love if you wanted to go birdwatching with him, he doesn't want to ask you first though since he thinks it's generally seen as a boring hobby

as an older sibling (i really can't imagine him as the youngest one nfdbbf eventually the middle child), eli is more protective of you but in a loving way

prepared for absolutely everything when you two go out - snacks? checked. med kit? checked. extra clothes? checked

his eyesight is weird since he sees through brooke - he can see everything in third person and it feels odd so you two have a mini inside gimmick thing? where you can let him know if you're near him, like two taps on his shoulder or something so he knows it's you

has really vivid dreams and hes SUUUPER enthusiastic about them and tells you everything that happens in them

obviously his favorite way of spending time with you is sports! they improve cooperativeness between people and are so much fun

even though he mostly plays football and rugby you two will often play basketball, tennis and other sports together

if you're too short to reach the hoop he's going to pick you up and hold you higher so you can shoot, he has been doing this since your childhood

really bad at table tennis though😭 actually more clumsy than bad

basically your bodyguard when you two go out, especially if he notices someone from your school or work mocking you, he's just going to give them a dirty look so they stay away from you

yk how usually older siblings are allowed to go out and the younger ones have to stay at home? well that's not happening with him - you're always tagging along and he's going to make sure you have a good time (and that you're safe, obviously)

likes taking you out to get food! shows you the best place to get whatever you're craving

in general he's often going outside and likes showing you various cool places he finds

you two had a secret hideout as kids and he's still visiting it frequently even though both of you are a bit too big for that🥲

pillow fights‼️ he's always extra careful since he's really strong and doesn't want to hit you too hard

you know his bunny onesie? he'll get you a similar one

when you were younger he'd let you hang off his arm and he's still working out actively just so you can keep doing it

he's the type of person to stand in front of your bedroom door like 🕴 and wait for you to wake up just so you two could play videogames or do something together (it scares you every time but he still does it hes a menace)

camping and outside sleepovers enthusiast!! even if it's just your backyard or a treehouse he still tries to make it extra entertaining - although he's not a big fan of scary stories

william cares for you lots and wants the time you two spend together be fun and enjoyable :)

General Hcs For Eli Clark

Character: Eli

Genre: fluff n light angst

Warning: none(I think, tell me if there’s any)

Notes: i really like eli’s character so I wanted to write for him! this is similar to the naib hcs a show of how I’ll be portraying him

• now I know this’ll differ from most peoples viewpoint on him but, I think he’d have some sort of superiority complex.

• while this superiority complex doesn’t show too often through his usual kind and caring demeanor, he’d have a lot of pride in his abilities and technically being better than the rest because of them.

• maybe expect a few off hand comments about how he saw it coming or something of the like

• obviously eli takes the greatest care of brooke rose she has been a life long friend and helper, ever since he was young

• they have a very strong bond that seriously cannot be broken, and honestly brooke is a bit protective of her friend

• I know that eli canonically has a fiancé(or wife I don’t exactly remember) and..sometimes he really can’t help but think she’s moved on or even forgotten him after he had entered the manor

• now onto a lighter topic I feel like eli tends to take on a bit of a mentor type of role for any new survivors, even lending his advice to others

• I feel like eli enjoys listening more then talking it’s just his preferred way of socializing, though he wouldn’t mind being the one talking as well

• he would probably take a bit of time to check up on people especially after any matches, just to check on how they feel and if they need to talk about any experiences

• I have a feeling he is also more secretive maybe not one of the biggest but it’s still there, it would be hard for him to open up in my opinion

• lastly he would be a very comforting person maybe without trying? ever need to just chill with someone go to him, he’s always happy to try and help.
