I still think that Kirby and the Forgotten Land had one of thd funniest pre-release periods purely because of how the Kirby Fandom has trust issues about adorable innocent looking creatures.

Everyone was INSTANTLY suspicious of Elfilin, and there was constant memes and predictions about how he was secretly evil and was totally going to betray Kirby and turn into an eldritch demon god abomination nightmare horror that would be the final boss.

I just crack up thinking about how confused the non Kirby fans or people who don't know much about Kirby were, watching the Kirby side of the internet being terrified of a flying green chinchilla.

This was my contribution to the Elfilin Distrust

The funniest thing was, despite the arguing and debating about whether or not Elfilin would betray Kirby and turn into the horrifying scarring final boss, when the game actually came out, everyone was both right and not right at the same time and nobody could have possibly predicted what ended up actually happening.

Elfilin isn't evil, he's just a normal friendly companion but also actually one half of a eldritch ALIEN demon god abomination nightmare horror and he ended up getting absorbed against his will by his other half to complete the Ultimate Lifeform and THAT was the final boss.

Okay, darlings, it's random Kirby headcanon time!

Kirby absolutely LOVES to dress up and play pretend. In his house, he has a whole chest loaded with costumes.

Is Kirby feeling like a pirate today? He's got an outfit for that. Perhaps he wants to be a princess? He's got an outfit for that. Or maybe an animal? You guessed it, he sure as heck has an outfit for that, too!

Occasionally, Kirby goes around Dream Land and gathers as many friends as he can to play pretend with him. They all get their own costumes and accessories, and they do all sorts of crazy things, whether they're acting out something completely original, or they're reenacting a fairy tale. But they always have a blast!

I also hc Castle Dedede to have a little theater, so this is where all the pretend play would take place.

Now here’s Magolor being a drama queen:

After I finished typing out the hc description, I couldn’t get the image of Princess Kirby out of my head, so I had to doodle that.

Also, Dedede and Meta really enjoy watching them from the theater seats.

WHEW these took me all day. I will now celebrate with a bowl of cereal.

Kirfluff's Fine Theatre

Inspired by @ilikesillythingswooo artwork, which they based off of this cute comic by @stardustshimmer

Originally, this was an animatic. But Krita is not willing to cooperate with me (I learned vaguely to animate in Photoshop), so screw it, here are the keyframes. I don't want to leave this in my drafts after the work I put into this. I finished the keyframes somewhere at the end of August. It has been too long.

I only regret that I realised too late I should have put texture in the drawing. But I am not in the mood to go back and fix it. I finished this way before ilikesillythingswooo finished their sketch. So sorry for the inaccuracies! I love your art!

I used the primary subtractive colours for the most part. It was a fun palette! Kirby's dress reminded me of OG's Snowhite gown from Disney, so I used it for some inspiration. (Elfilin ended up breaking the colour palette, but that's fine. They suffered a mighty defeat. Let them have some green/purple)
