Published in 73, this book is a revolutionary text for our civilisation. . . #EFSchumacher makes a case for living a non-invasive, local and simple life on a small scale built upon permanent culture. Makes me think, this text was being written in the 70s. It’s still relevant today. So are Joni Mitchell’s songs. It would be nice to write something on what’s happened in these 50 years. We are now a global economy fuelled by fossils. Some countries wake up— others will have a hard time surviving in the foreseeable future. . . . But we haven’t managed to turn things around at all. Mankind has gotten extremely comfortable in his present way of life. Gandhi, mollison and Schumachers have come and gone.
