the biggest testament to obito's cosplaying ability actually isnt the fact that he managed to fool minato into thinking he's madara at 12/13 years old or kakashi or OHNOKI. (who has actually met him before). its the fact that he also convinced kurama ... like it might be that its just kishimoto "forgetting" that this would be a huge plot hole actually but im choosing to believe that its just bc obito cosplays him so well ... kurama is intimately familiar with him. can sense his chakra. immediately recognizes it when madara tries summoning him after just having been resurrected. recognizes the smell of his blood, too, when madara later tries summoning him another time. but he still doesnt warn naruto before .. he knows that naruto and everyone thinks of the masked man as madara and it would be a vital piece of info to share w him that its not. but he still doesnt. at one point, when naruto and kurama start talking to each other more, he does also refer to him as "madara". im just assuming here that its NOT a huge plothole lol but just obito being INSANE at cosplaying. and fooling even an ancient demonic natural force w a personal history and vendetta against the guy into thinking he's him

Edo-Tensei implies the sacrifice of a living human being for their body to become the vessel of the soul they're trying to bring back. What this author means is that Sasuke and Sakura are willing to perform inhumane acts to "see each other again".

The jutsu was created by Tobirama, someone Sasuke despises.

This is the same jutsu Orochimaru, whom Sakura admitted to hating as he "took Sasuke away from Konoha", used; why would she willingly use a jutsu from his book?

The caster has complete control of the person they summon, the person that was "revived" has no real volition of their own. Obito, who used to love Rin, never even entertained the idea of summoning her (and thus, controlling her), what a disgusting thing to do to someone you "love".

This is the same man who canonically has the chance to see his wife whenever he pleases, yet he doesn't, why on earth would he revive her? Why wouldn't he revive Itachi, Mikoto, or Fugaku for that matter?

Sakura has little to no knowledge of füinjutsu, let alone enough chakra to perform something like this.

Sasuke having a "moment" with Itachi doesn't translate to him actually liking the technique.

"Sasuke and Sakura are only thinking of a possibility" is just as awful as performing it; they're willing to do such a monstrous thing to others to fulfill their selfish wishes. The fact that they didn't do it isn't because they aren't prone to do so, but because they didn't have to, as both are still alive.

Edo-tensei is not romantic, at all. It's one of the worst techniques ever invented as it was devised to seek control over powerful (deceased) shinobi to use their souls/techniques as tools of military power. The person revived has no control over their actions, so they see themselves committing acts they might not agree with because the person who summoned them wanted their strength. Its origin was about complete control of a human being (humiliation likely plays a part, as having no control over your body yet having your mind intact is the ultimate form of torture), the possession of the power of others, and the ultimate tool as those revived receive no real damage as they respawn.

Edit to add: This line was, in fact, in Sasuke Retsuden (in the manga adaptation Sasuke never actually confirmed this, as it was Sakura who replied for him -lol-). Jun Esaka just butchered the entirety of Sasuke's characterization, this woman was paid to write a SasuSaku story and couldn't even bother to understand and respect the characters' original personality, having to modify everything about them and using their trauma as a "romantic device" to show "how much Sasuke and Sakura love each other". I have no respect for her as an author, at least, not as an author inside the Narutoverse.

Fuck ok, gather 'round it's time for another fic idea spinning off of a crumb from my last post ab time traveling team Ro into founders era:

Summary:

Fact 1; Kakashi is now 3 weeks the last living Hatake.

Fact 2; Tobirama Senju, according to dusty old scrolls Kakashi finds in his father's study, was apparently half Hatake himself.

Lonley and hurting, Kakashi grabs on to this fact with both hands and squeezes it so tight to his aching heart that his hands bleed.

Or, still processing his father's suicide, Konoha's favorite baby genius finds out he's distantly related to history's favorite baby genius and immediatly starts projecting to cope.

Digging through old journals, history books, Kakashi begins to try his own hand at the man's favorite past time; creating jutsu's. It's the both the hardest thing he's ever done and the most satisfying to date.

Ft.

1) Weirdly chill scene with Danzo (fuck that guy but hear me out) where he kinda looks at Kakashi and sees the hint of the shadow of the man who taught him. Not quite there yet, not fully, but crumbs of it. Enough to make him nostalgic, and enough to hand over an old journal that used to belong to Tobirama.

A calculated risk, he tells himself.

An unspoken challenge, both Danzo and Kakashi understand.

He wants to see how far Kakashi can go, finds himself almost eager to see how close he can come to the shadow of the man he seems so determined to chase.

(and if this side project temporarily distracts him for long enough that Orochimaru slips through his fingers, well, it's not like he knows it was this event specifically that caused that plan to fall through)

2) The fact that, both due to time and the Hatake clan's less than stellar reputation during the warring states era, Tobirama's Hatake ancestry got buried. Kakashi finding him on a dusty old family tree has ��️political implications✨️ for Kakashi specifically. Ones he isn't all too interested in — unless it means he might be able to access things he otherwise wouldn't've.

Also just general fun surprised Pikachu faces from some people as an added bonus.

3) Kakashi becoming even more terrifying than he rightfully should be at that age !! Danzo pretty much handed him a missile and went "lmao good luck" with that journal! He should not have that! He's learning things! He is experimenting! Someone take the missile away from the baby before he learns how to make his own— oh fuck it's too late hes somehow made a nuke instead

4) Orochimaru poking Kakashi with a stick and vice versa. They are making baby genius <--> baby genius eye contact it's mildly concerning, Minato is concerned. Obito is jealous, he wishes the Snake Sannin would poke HIM with a stick

5) Kakashi bites someone. That's it that's the bullet point I just think he should get to bite someone is all.

And more !!! Im ngl I think I like Tobirama just existing in the fic as as an ever present shadow, super influential in just every single chapter but never actually present. But I won't lie if I'm giggling over the thought of Kakashi finding Edo Tensei and going ".... ok but what better way to figure out this new jutsu / seal than to ask the source directly."

Orochimaru would so help he's having too much fun with this to bother experimenting on children for Danzo. Don't talk to him rn he's having fun with corpses!! No not the corpses you asked him to have fun with, the other ones!

It's kinda funny how all the racists try to blame Tobirama in their own racism.

Uchihas aren't another race, they just the same as Senju. They all have one ancestor, and Kaguya obviously wasn't thousands and thousands years ago for evolution split up Senju and Uchiha enough.

But it so easy to make Uchiha another to blame Tobirama. So easy to change their race so Tobirama's haters can be racist as hell. (Because changing the race of character is already racist enough, ask Hollywood)

But well, my dear Tobirama's haters, I have a really bad news for you. Your the most precious Madara is racist and sexist as hell... because if you make Uchiha another race, these words are totally unforgivable.

What? No one asked him or made him, he said it by his own will. Unless Uchiha just another clan as Senju, he is racist.

What Madara was the victim of Senju? So did Tobirama, his little brother Itama was killed by five Uchiha (and one of them looks Tajima-like so...)

What, Tobirama did a lot racist comments? But he didn't.

First of all, please, take a dictionary and look in it. Yes, Tobirama kinda disrespectful and discriminatory but ISN'T racist. Uchiha aren't another race as blue-eyed or raven-haired aren't another race, and not any discrimination is racism.

Secondly, he didn't said anything too much. He commented on Sasuke? Well, you all would be so happy to see the bastard that make you kill your precious student some minutes ago and now talking that this Uchiha has a question for you. You'll be furious, won't you? And Tobirama just offended them.

Actually, Sasuke did ask about his opinion and "what do you mean evil" and Tobirama calmly answered. And he is a bit respectful for their power of love!

Some haters says that he started the discrimination. Well, if they learnt the history, they would know that police&army have so important role that sometimes it's them deciding the ruler of country and government.

Did you get it? Tobirama gave Uchiha the force to stop him. He gave them a power and put them above all the Konoha's clans. He literally gave them a chance to silence Madara-2 by themselves... Because Madara-2 would be fatal for the clan's reputation like Obito did. And now it's him who started the discrimination?! Maybe it were lazy bastard Hiruzen and radical trash Danzou that twisted Tobirama's ideals, weren't they?

But that about evil part? Yeah, Tobirama is quite harsh person...

Like really harsh.

He roasts Minato for technique's name.

And he calls Minato and Naruto idiots. Poor Minato is roasted to shame and excuses.

His brother isn't exception.

What? Is it gokage meeting? Nope, it's time to roast elder brother again.

Who are you? The shinobi's ancestor? Well, it won't save you from roasting because you gave so nice advice and sooo in time! You were so helpful!

I mean I'm so in love with his harsh manners but yeah, he really talks a lot of shit because he could and who'll stop him?

So, then we know that his manners shouldn't be trusted, that we'll see in his action?

Idea of peace (and of course he is roasting his father, yeah, typical japanese respect for parents)

His respects for Madara. Yeah, he is kinda respects him and take him as example to rule as much as brother... And Hashirama is best hokage for Tobirama.

Moreover, he is glad for Hashirama's and Madara's peace, even after Madara's attack on the most precious Konoha and all 4the Shinobi's War. He smiled!

And last but not the least he wanted to save Sasuke from the death. He easily agreed with idea Uchiha inherits Hashirama's idea of Hokage and gave another example of Uchiha.

I can see why he can be hated. Yeah, he talks a lot of shit in harsh manner. He kinda provoked Madara with his talks with Hashirama (but I have more questions to spying Madara). He created the Edo Tensei that takes sacrifices, so his mind is twisted. He is definitely hipocrite with his "i created and prohibited" and "make your reputation to another kage... SHUT FUCKING UP!"

And yeah, Tobirama is kinda prejudiced to Uchiha, it's hard to deny.

But it's not him the racist in but his haters that labeled him as one. (And stop hypocrisy. It's both of them are racists in your definition or no one of them)
