What’s your advice on making good quality icons? All of your icons are super pretty that I gave up on editing icons at this point ❤️
noo don’t give up!! i’m not sure what i do specifically but i’ll try listing my process
first i open the screenshot in photoshop and then crop before using the lasso tool to cut out the bg. after that i usually resize it to 300 x 300 (px), it’s gonna look a little pixelated but that’s fine
then i start adding adjustment layers like selective color and levels. it really depends on your preferences but i wouldn’t recommend making the contrast too strong, since it can destroy quality.
as for sharpening i sharpen the icon twice, first using normal settings (500%, 0.3 px radius, 0 noise, remove gaussian blur), and then a second sharpen with same settings except instead of 500% i use like. 90%. finally add a bg that’s color picked from the icon’s new color scheme
