The first audio adventure for the Paternoster Gang that involves SO, SO much lesbian flirting??? And werewolves! First of all Jenny makes Vastra fluster at least twice in this thing, they fight werewolves together after Strax got kidnapped and try to get him back. A maid struggles with her rich employer's abusive behaviour and seeks revenge, and she wrongly assumes Jenny must be in a similar situation. In the final showdown, Vastra uses what she fears to be her last breaths on telling Jenny that she loves her. Also, Vastra actually gets to kill in this audio! Always fun!
Overall jumps between the inherent humour that comes with Jenny, Vastra, and Strax, so much fluffy gay flirting, and intense, emotional action-packed scenes. 10000% recommend, I swear to god. (@jennyandvastraflint )
Blood of the Daleks

ok here's that Spider-Man AU I came up with:
University AU, but with a twist + the origin of the AU itself (aka, what inspired it, at the very bottom of the post)
Peter is the freshman newbie and they're not actually trying to cause trouble, they're just really enthusiastic and enjoying life to its fullest before they graduate at the tops of their classes and as the heads of their fields.
shirtless frat bro energy Mysterio who will probably go hand to hand with Spider-Man despite not having super powers himself. wrap his arm around Peter and give him actually good solid advice while Peter is trying not to gag over Beck's hairy pits.
what if they want Peter to join their fraternity family and they're genuinely good people, but they keep giving Peter a friendly fight on the university's school grounds every breakfast, lunch, and dinner. the way he gets in is if he defeats all of them.
he's done that and they consider him an honorary member even tho he keeps rejecting them and just wanting to stick to his small clique.
but over time he can't deny he does enjoy their eccentric personalities and their energetic personalities are contagious. He does go to them to get help with his homework tho for his various classes so he can try to impress his crush(es)
I think Otto would secretly enjoy theater and watch Beck do his performances and even aid him in practice.
everyone would cheer on and praise Otto for his crazed inventions and even the mad creation of the Actuators
Max being a party guy.. his hair is like.. frosted tips and spiked up with his own static electricity
I think Max would probably have given himself electric powers when he was younger cuz of a crazy stupid stunt he pulled that backfired, BUT HE SURVIVED!!
he uses the electrical abilities as his little.. party trick. always does something with it to try and impress the ladies lol he isn't allowed in the pools tho. obvious reasons.
he ended a party early once and learned the hard way why he shouldn't get into the water when others are present. (no one died thankfully!)
Otto has the patience of a SAINT when it comes to helping out Rhino with his homework so he can join them when they graduate. he cares for his homeboys, wants to see them succeed.
Mysterio is a jack of all trades. he is an art student to the bone, but he tries to party and wrestle and be more like a jock than he actually is. probably accidentally huffed some paint and drank the paint water once while delusional from pulling an all-nighter to finish his project/assignment on time.
Chameleon & Kraven are transfer students from Russia and they're both unbelievably pompous and eccentric.
chameleon being the guy you go to if you want the highest quality fake IDs. he makes them himself
Flint is also an art student, but he does those pottery things. he does it on the side and tries to keep up with the sports teams of the university instead, trying to keep up a tougher facade, but he just really likes making pottery and sculptures. finds them relaxing and will stay late to make them. people think he stayed up partying even tho they don't remember seeing him at any parties on campus. they just make the assumption and he always plays along. he submits his works to the school under a false name that the school is aware of and have agreed to in order to keep his privacy.
Rhino keeps the secret, having discovered him one night. stumbling upon Flint spinning some clay and while being a bit tipsy, he just sits and watches. completely transfixed by the actions and effort.
They become the BEST of friends.
and Rhino, being much bigger than the others, will gladly protect and back up Flint
Screwball brought her entire gaming and live-streaming setup to the dorm room. brings her phone to the lectures and records herself or the professors/teachers.
she's def part of the news section and records all the fights Peter has with the Sinister Six fraternity
Kingpin is the one in charge of it. he owns the university. the head professor or whatever heck they're called.
Norman being the 2nd in command of the university. Harry does NOT get special treatment from his dad. but Norman DOES see promise in Peter and tries to bribe and coax him with free good grades/marks and more. Peter keeps denying the old man.
man gives him the creeps and he'd rather earn his good rewards with his hard work. it's more satisfying that way.
plus, he has the whole sinister six fraternity helping him out with all sorts of things. so it's fiiiinnee. he doesn't need Norman's help.
I firmly believe that by the end of the story, when everyone is graduating, Peter is definitely good friends with the Sinister Six and is really gonna miss them once the graduation ceremony is over.

"Troop Zero" is a heartwarming 2019 comedy-drama film directed by Bert & Bertie and written by Lucy Alibar. Set in rural Georgia in the 1970s, the story follows a misfit girl named Christmas Flint (played by McKenna Grace) who dreams of communicating with extraterrestrial life. When she learns about a Birdie Scout Jamboree where the winning troop can have their voices recorded on NASA's Golden Record, she forms her own ragtag Birdie Scout troop.

I have to say, one thing I absolutely love about the Sam and Max Telltale games is the side characters and more specifically how they all have at least some “oddness” to them, which not only makes Sam and Max feel like they do belong in this town instead of being the outsiders other people react to, but it also makes it possible for the duo to form genuine friendships with some of those people (which is also helped by the continuity this trilogy has).
All of them are eccentric in their own way, I mean :
- Bosco is a paranoid conspiracy theorist and is afraid of enbies
- Sybil keeps changing professions, and between that and how she evolves in S2, it feels like she’s sometimes in her own world/gets in her own head a lot
(And also, between her being really nice to the titular duo and her overall personality, she and Max could easily be besties. I mean c’mon ! He always goes to stand near her + gets involved in her love life + the S3 finale. He’d 100% be her gay bff and also possibly babysitter since he likes kids so much !)
- Flint Paper is a lot like Sam and Max on the police brutality aspect (and the three of them working together is great. There’s a single braincell between the three and not a single one of them uses it. Except Sam occasionally, if he’s not too busy fanboying over his neighbor with Max)
- Superball (my beloved) feels like one of the more grounded characters but at the same time he’s never seen taken aback by the weird shit happening around him and has no issue rolling with it. He’s also pretty mysterious at times and even straight up teleports in 304
(I’m not going to mention his love of doors as him being eccentric because, between that and how he expresses emotions differently, plus the musical number and his voice impressions showing he has an artistic side, I can’t help but view him as autistic. Heck you can also add him taking the “please don’t hang up the phone” thing way too literally in S1. So the love for doors feels like a special interest)
- Jimmy and the rest of the rats are some kind of mafia or street gang
- The C.O.P.S. are a bunch of old sentient machines trying their best (also Buster Blaster reminds me of Lord Hater from Wander with the way he screams all the time and I love it !)
- Harry Moleman is a creep who somehow keeps getting involved in the story through new jobs
- The Soda Poppers are pretty self-explanatory (gotta love how everytime they show up I’m like “oh, it’s these assholes again…”)
- Hugh Bliss is a literal sentient bacteria cult leader
- Girl Stinky is a literal cake and apparently a mermaid ? Like, her design has always been mermaid-oriented but apparently it’s because she truly is one
- Grandpa Stinky is that kind of grumpy old man who can and will throw hands with a 13 years-old
- Abe is the douchy head of a broken sentient statue who can’t do anything right aside from speeches (and he gets lectured by the local married couple after messing up his relationship in S2, which I find very funny)
- Featherly is a talking actor chicken who was literally found at the beginning of the universe that one time for some reason ??? It was very funny tho
(Also off-topic and I’m not sure if this was on purpose or not but isn’t Featherly technically trans ? I mean, he’s explicitly told to be a chicken in S2, not a rooster, and is even capable of laying eggs, but he uses he/him pronouns and refers to himself as a man)
- Santa Claus isn’t taking shit from anyone and hates kids
- Jurgen is a gay emo teen stereotype (who would absolutely have many social media accounts were those game made in the 2010s)
- Sal is a cockroach himbo who’s kinda just going along with the craziness around him
- Papierwaite literally tried and sort-of managed to summon some demi-god, demi-god who turns out to be pretty chill. And the duo is symbiotic. Oh yeah and Papierwaite has powers and may or may not be immortal (I think him living this long might be due to Norrington ?)
- Mama Bosco, despite acting more like the voice of reason, still remains the wacky kind of scientist, with her creating portals to other dimensions and being pretty nonchalant about the risks of it
- Skun-ka’pe is a hyper-intelligent alien who lets his ego and slight naiveté take the better of him
- Sammun-mak is a child with enormous powers and a god complex
- and the list goes on
I just really like how the world of Sam and Max is eccentric in itself. It’s not just the two main characters who are “weird” while the rest of the city reacts to their weirdness. Every character has their own thing going on and I love how it makes this world flow.

Finally got around to updating these ref sheets.
This is Wyneer, my main DST mod chara! (Pronounced Win-EER.)
He's an actor seeking a purpose in his life. Considering himself talentless, he gains perks and abilities by crafting and wearing masks and acting out the personality the mask portrays. He'll call them "characters" if you ask, but in the Constant, nothing is that simple...
His hobbies include eating all of the sweet foods in the base and creeping people out by standing idly while staring into space.
I'll post more about the masks themselves when I finish their art.

Seeking Talent
A soft-spoken, eccentric man with a flair for the dramatic, Wyneer Elliott-Llewellyn is a Shakespearean actor desperately seeking a purpose in life.
As his aimlessness led him to believe his life thus far had been wasted, he began to dream of starting anew as somebody else, fashioning masks to wear in private to bring his ailing mind relief. His desperation to escape his life led him to making a deal with a mysterious voice that called to him from his radio one day, claiming to know what his purpose was...
That deal brought him to the Constant and has left him trapped there ever since. The deal also led to the creepy mask he wears being stuck to his face, but he doesn’t really mind.
Perks and Quirks:
Crafts his own masks
Skilled at method acting - Wyneer changes his perks depending on the mask worn
Has an erratic body and mind - Wyneer's stats change depending on the mask worn
Sensitive to fire and water - Wyneer takes extra damage from fire. Being above 80% wetness causes periodic damage. Being near open flames or being in the rain makes Wyneer nervous, causing his sanity to drain.
By default, Wyneer has no beneficial unique attributes or abilities. He instead temporarily gains perks and quirks depending on which of his masks he is currently wearing. Wearing a mask changes his appearance and dialogue.
He enters the Constant with several sheets of papyrus and some rope, and already knows how to craft these items.
Masks:
Wyneer's masks have a lot of effects. These descriptions are simplified for the sake of brevity.
Blank Mask (papyrus + rope)
Does nothing and cannot be worn. Used to create masks.
Fright n Flight Mask (blank mask + nightmare fuel + sanity points)
Induces insanity and greatly boosts movement speed, at the cost of greatly reducing attack power.
Laborious Mask (blank mask + grass + twigs)
Lowers Wyneer’s max hunger stat and causes him to become hungry much faster. The fuller Wyneer’s hunger meter is, the faster he is at work-related tasks.
Brave Face (blank mask + flint + marble)
Armour that lowers Wyneer’s max health in exchange for higher base damage. The closer to death Wyneer is, the stronger and more resistant to insanity he becomes.
About Face (blank mask + gold + bone shards)
Armour that functions as a one-man band when sanity is above 50%. When below, Wyneer is regarded as a ‘monster’ by neutral mobs. Having followers or taking damage lowers sanity, but landing a killing blow on an enemy raises it.
Azure Mask (blank mask + blue gems + azure feathers)
Makes Wyneer near-immune to freezing, but causes him to radiate extreme cold. This causes Wyneer to overheat faster and worsens his pyrophobia. Enemies that attack Wyneer are frozen.
Crimson Mask (blank mask + red gems + crimson feathers)
Makes Wyneer near-immune to overheating, but causes him to radiate extreme heat. This causes Wyneer to freeze faster and worsens his aquaphobia. Enemies that attack Wyneer are sometimes set on fire.
Jet Black Mask (blank mask + purple gems + jet feathers)
Raises Wyneer’s max sanity. Wyneer does less damage with normal weapons, but his proficiency with shadow weapons increases with his current sanity. Wyneer can spend sanity to put enemies to sleep.
Saffron Mask (blank mask + yellow gems + saffron feathers)
Radiates light and boosts movement speed. Wyneer does less damage, but all damage he does is electrified. Enemies that attack Wyneer are shocked with electricity.
Nightmare Face (blank mask + thulecite + thulecite medallion)
Combines the effects of thulecite medallion/crown/armour/etc. and gives off light depending on the current nightmare cycle. On the surface, it tracks his sanity instead.
Radiant Face (blank mask + moon rock + moon glass)
A protective and durable piece of armour that changes appearance based on the moon's phase. As the moon rock coating disappears, it becomes less protective, but begins to draw on the moon's power to hone its attacking prowess. In the caves, it does not change.
That's all! There's a lot of nuance to do with how his masks actually function in the game since I balance him quite rigorously, but that's better left to talking about the masks individually hahaha. Hope someone out there enjoys my brainworms.

𝐅𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐁𝐋𝐄 𝐌𝐀𝐍, 𝐖𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐃𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐀𝐍𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐊𝐄𝐃 𝐍𝐎 𝐐𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐄𝐑. stern and austere, with a visage made up of hard features that had yet to soften in the presence of this eccentric little crew. a powerful opponent, through bending and physique alike, muscles thick and coiled beneath that fur mantle. intimidating by any measure.
and yet ... one little airbender was all it took to betray that underlying softness he worked so hard to mask. silver was lounging, relaxed and languid, at his side. it had been a long day of training with the avatar ; edward seemed to have caught onto the basics, but was far from any master. silver's efforts were impressive, and held a light fluidity to them that had drawn his eye. more than a pretty face and a witty tongue, then. a fearsome bender by their own right, and useful in a fight. the more he learned of the man, the more his own intrigue swelled. it was an unfamiliar feeling, to say the least.
they were all huddled about the campfire for supper, and flint was resolutely ignoring the glances thrown their way. irritating little grins and whispers passed back and forth between the others. still, he made no move to withdraw as silver's head tipped onto a broad shoulder and remained there. instead, the corner of his mouth twitched to the barest hint of a smile. he stirred idle circles into his bowl of stew with a spoon. ❛ you should eat something. i'm sure you worked up an appetite today. ❜ voice a low rumble, hushed, but no way to keep the conversation private when in such close quarters.
warmth blossomed betwixt his ribs, but it was surely from supper and nothing more. he eyed the pot nestled overtop the fire, but only the dregs of stew remained. ❛ here, have the rest of mine. i've had my fill. ❜ not entirely true, and perhaps max at least knew it, for the way she looked so fondly upon him. flint bristled, but handed over his bowl and made no attempt to dislodge the airbender's touch.

Synopsis
The Great Detective, Madame Vastra, aided by her resourceful spouse, Jenny Flint, and loyal valet, Strax, is looking into a series of mysterious break-ins.
An eccentric scientist and his put-upon assistant are the latest victims. Evidence mounts, with animal footprints and a trail of destruction.
Propaganda
The first audio adventure for the Paternoster Gang that involves SO, SO much lesbian flirting??? And werewolves! First of all Jenny makes Vastra fluster at least twice in this thing, they fight werewolves together after Strax got kidnapped and try to get him back. A maid struggles with her rich employer's abusive behaviour and seeks revenge, and she wrongly assumes Jenny must be in a similar situation. In the final showdown, Vastra uses what she fears to be her last breaths on telling Jenny that she loves her. Also, Vastra actually gets to kill in this audio! Always fun!
Overall jumps between the inherent humour that comes with Jenny, Vastra, and Strax, so much fluffy gay flirting, and intense, emotional action-packed scenes. 10000% recommend, I swear to god. (@jennyandvastraflint )
Robophobia
Synopsis
Nothing has ever been officially confirmed, but there is a rumour that on a Sandminer bound for Kaldor City, the robots somehow turned homicidal and nearly wiped out the entire crew. Can that really be true?
The robot transport ship Lorelei has a cargo of over a hundred fifty-seven thousand robots on board, all deactivated. So even if there were any truth in the rumour of that massacre, there'd still be no danger. Surely, there wouldn't...
But then, the Doctor witnesses a murder.

I have VERY conflicting feelings about this issue because I usually LOVE found footage stuff, but I know. I know what happens next. And it's not good.
So, basically, there's a hostage situation and they're interviewing Flint
"We have our best men in place"
the best men:
This is the comic in which Steven and Jake are reintroduced as an active part of the character, not just mentions or cameos
Except, there's a "but"
woosh
You can already see from the dialogue here they're sort of cycling through the alters with no apparent reason
and being open about that with Flint (but I'll get to that later)
This is the issue that completely fucks up Jake's characterisation, exaggeratedly portraying him as a violent psycho mutilating sicko

Not Marc, who's got a fucking actual precedent with this shit in the 2006 run and he's always been well known to be the most violent of the three

there is literally NOTHING to back up this deviation of the character
On the contrary, one of the previous runs (Vengeance of the Moon Knight) portrays Jake as the polar opposite of Marc, the genuinely "good" and chill guy and they kind of insist on that point
This is just pain made up out of blue and it makes me furious
(I meant to write "plain" but decided to leave the typo)
Almost as furious as this one:
First of all
1- How the hell did Flint have MK's psych phone number
2- MK always kept his identity secret with Flint. Steven and him knew each other, but Flint doesn't know they're the same person. Flint just knows Steven as "ah yes our local resident eccentric millionaire Mr Grant"
3- There was no reason why MK would just "come out" like this after all those years. It's as if the character had no history at all with Flint or the whole area
4- did the author even read the previous volume of the SAME RUN? Like, with actual reading comprehension. "You don't have DID" and "were diagnosed with DID" - pick one.
This is- idk. distasteful glamourising of MH illness for edgy drama points but in the worst possible way
Gotta hand it to Smallwood for those sad, "oh no" vibes eyes. This guy's living through some nightmare fuel scenario
