After 6 months of being unemployed and continuously looking for a job. 41 online applications, 2 job fair attendance, a series of interview invitation and 6 job interviews from different companies.

I was rejected by several companies and feel discouraged and frustrated. But now I realized, "Rejection is God's redirection" God didn't want me to settle for less because He will give the best for me.

I received the news that I passed the exam and interview in this company when I was in the House of the Lord, while serving Him. It is so true that when you are in the presence of God it is your chance to receive the blessing that you are waiting.

I am so thankful for those people who keep on praying for me. For my family who keep on supporting me. And most especially I am so thankful to You my Heavenly Father for granting my heart desire. Words cannot express how much I am so glad and thankful for this blessing.

For those people who are desiring for something, always remember Proverbs 16:3 and Matthew 6:33. Do not lose hope if you are rejected at first, maybe it is not the right thing and right timing for you, there is something much better that is coming. Just keep on trusting the plan and the will of God in your life.

TO GOD BE THE HIGHEST GLORY!

First Job

As I’m writing this, I am at an office to be trained as a graphic designer, along with my two co-workers. Basically what we do in this training is being monitored and coached about using some typa software.

I have been working for a big company for almost three weeks now. And up until now I still don’t get what’s called comfort, y’know? I have always dreamt of working flexibly; not only staying my ass in front of a computer, and if it was possible I want to work with more of ladies co-workers. It’s not that I’m a lesbian or whatever but I’m an insecure 21 year old girl (not-so-girl but yeah), I don’t really get comfortable being around many men.

Now let’s press the rewind button. Back in approx. 4 mos ago, I had done my thesis defense, and not long after that, I began looking for a job. If I’m not mistaken, I had been in eight interviews (whoa thats load), and most of the interviews and tests failed. Brrruuuh. I remember I felt bad about myself because I thought I was not good enough like my friends that already got their jobs. I was like “fuck my life!!” But on the other side, I still wished to get a call from a company (let’s say company D, D for it’s my Dreamcompany). D has opened a job vacancy since I was preparing for my thesis defense, and after I had done my thesis defense, I applied for that job.

Months later since the application, I FINALLY GOT AN INVITATION FROM D! It was unbeliavable. That was (and still is) my dream company to work for. Long story short, I came to the interview and the interviewer told me to wait for the next interview. I was asking myself “does that mean I passed the 1st interview!?” But ye after 2 weeks I confirmed to D’s HR about my application and she told me to wait bcs the next interviewer (User) was still busy. During my time waiting, I was also processed in company A (current company I am working for). But hey.. guess what? I was accepted in company A. While company D still left me hanging. I was grateful for the oppportunity but.......................... My heart was still at Sudiman, South Jakarta. D still had my heart (and still does, sigh).

After approx. one week I worked, I suddenly got a call. And you can guess who that was. YES, IT WAS D!!! Fuck. I had signed the contract for 6 mos to work at A. AaAAND I nEed To rEJeCT tHe MofO joB frOm D!:)) Trust me, my heart still aches up until now.

Now that I’m working at A, I can’t say I’m happy tho. But I bloody I wish I will be. The salary is way higher that D had to offer, but hey, I think this what we call “money can’t buy happiness”. It really is true.

I hope the next time I open Tumblr to update about my (new) job, I’ll already be working at D. Well, it doesn’t neccessarily have to be D. I hope one day I work somewhere that I won’t need to regret.
