I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING pt 1 isn't even over yet and first they torture me with bad buddy music but then when kang joins the soccer game the background music that plays has the same melody as the hidden agenda ep8 make-out session on the balcony/in the room?? (it's not QUITE the same file it seems bc the melody is the same but it still sounds different, like a different instrumentation)
edit: THEY PLAYED IT AGAIN IN PT4 DURING THE MATCH WHEN KANG WAS INJURED AHAHAHAHAHAHAH (it sounds a lot more like the sound file from hidden agenda this time around)

can i tentatively suggest that rnm s7 ep6-9 are all sort of a rehash of old plotlines (and therefore a little boring) because they take place after unmortricken, after our rick has killed rick prime and accomplished the main goal his character had, and so in the episodes that follow it just seems like he (and the writers of the show) are just spinning their wheels until fear no mort?
and in fear no mort rick and morty aren't thrilled or afraid of the things they encounter before the hole, and they're irritated and bored with each other in the denny's booth, and the villain of the episode talks about "the corrosion of two personalities that reshape each other until they're incompatible". the episode ends with morty's stark revelation that the thing he's most afraid of is his reliance on rick, so he's presumably going to want to try and become more independent of him next season, meanwhile rick has implicitly decided that morty gives him reason enough to keep going after killing rick prime didn't give him fulfillment; they have new motivations now that further drag the show over to something more character-driven and serialised rather than episodic
and so on a story level, in ep6-9, the characters are trying to have conventional adventures and it feels awkward and off (until fear no mort where they pivot to their new motivations); and on a meta level, the writers and the audience are experiencing how misplaced these oldschool episodic adventures feel in a post-rick prime story
and maybe it wasn't the writers' intentions, but i still think it works as a reading of the second half of the season. "it's supposed to be boring" sounds like pure copium, i know, but i'm not really criticising the episodes themselves - i'm more just trying to hypothesise why they feel so awkward when they'd be perfectly suitable episodes for earlier seasons.
tl;dr, whether it was intentional or not, ep6-9 are essentially running on the momentum of previous episode formulas until that momentum runs out, at which point ep10 happens and pivots the show to an entirely new direction

Ep7 Trailer Observations
It's important to remember that, as with past trailers, not every scene in the trailer is directly in the Episode. Any scenes without that red-filter are likely scenes exclusively for the trailer whilst any scenes (or frames) with the red filter are likely from the episode itself.
That's to say I think the red solver sinkhole we see in the cathedral is from CYN's original manifestation prior to the core collapse.
^We see N opening the door to the cathedral in what is likely a scene from the episode itself. The red-solver sinkhole is visible at the bottom but it looks long-decayed and inactive.
^The red-solver nest we seen in one of the mineshafts is more recent, and confirmed inhabited.
^In other words, in the actual episode there will be only 1 active solver monster, specifically the one we see pulling N into it's nest during the Glitch X trailer. Personally, I believe it to be the EJ core.
^I believe this scene is from the past. The Solver Monster emerging from the cathedral sinkhole is a possessed Nori. We know Nori had tentacles while possessed based off the Ep6 security footage.
^This claw is confirmable as Nori's based off the Ep6 security footage.
^It's the specific appendage she uses to destroy the CCTV camera recording her
^All this implies this is indeed Nori in the above image.
^JCJ and Dr. Chambers preparing for the test. Those searchlights are likely some kind of heat-lamp or UV light designed to restrain the solver through overheating, explaining why CYN-NORI is incapable of reaching Chambers and why she's burning with the same pixelated effect used in Ep4 when UZI's hand is briefly in direct sunlight.
I imagine this is where the GlitchX voice-line fits in. CYN-Nori calling Chambers an idiot for summoning them and inadvertently handing CYN the planet. An idiot for thinking they could restrain the Solver.
^Dr. Chambers likely running for the Elevator after CYN-Nori broke free.
^UZI is watching the test footage of Nori in this scene. Based off the hands of the human recording looking like they're reeling in shock, I'm guessing she paused the footage right at the moment things went wrong and CYN-Nori attempted to escape. Interestingly the ninja star indicates this scene takes place in the aftermath of a fight. Perhaps with Doll.
The cross is not part of the footage. UZI is holding it up with her solver-kinesis. It's not yet clear if she finds the cross earlier in the episode and is holding it up to the monitor in some kind of realization of it's purpose or if she has just found the cross sitting in front of the monitor.

a very specific pet peeve i have about n's mischaracterization in writing. his guilt about killing.
it's not that he feels bad in the sense of "oh no, oh my god, i just killed someone, i just did something terrible" he feels bad in the sense of the fact that he might be annoying. he could do something to piss someone off. it's not that he feels bad over taking lives its that he feels bad over the reaction.
in pilot, n apologizes for causing uzi to have an awkward moment with khan and over ruining the workers card game. he doesn't mention anything about killing until uzi points it out. thats such an interesting part to me about his character!!! though his squad kept their original personalities as cyn said, they took the humanity they had before. you see n panicking over that stuff in home (not over HIM killing anyone, i just mean death in general) but dd n doesn't show that same level of sadness over death atleast in my opinion. i don';t know if theres more proof past what i already listed but???yeah :)
DOUBLY INTERESTING TO ME ABOUT V ACTUALLY. because v... remembered all that went down at the mansion, she also remembered and retained her 'humanity' which makes the way she kills/treats wds much more interesting. i think its a way to cope atleast in how i viewed it. you HAVE to kill, you have to obey, or else everyone you love will die, so you might as well disconnect yourself as much as possible from the things you have to kill. basically. if she has to, why not try and have fun with it? I DONT KNOW its just very interesting to me how v changed so drastically from what we saw of her wd self to her dd self; i think its a front. we see how panicked v is when she thinks she's about to die in cabin fever (and promening too), versus n getting his ass beat continuously and acting like it's nothing crazy... BUT THEN AGAIN if we're going by my logic of "drones who remember their humanity/old selves are able to retain that sense of fear/grief versus drones who DONT just. not feeling bad/scared in that sense" then after n remembered stuff he should have started feeling that way... which he didnt, cause of him getting disemboweled in ep6 and not giving too much of a shit outside of it Tickling . lol . but THEN AGAIN if we go by that logic then its possible that v has just . never lost her memories. and n never FORGOT anything when he regained his memories in home so maybe he's just so used to it andOK IM RAMBLING
DOUBLE TL;DR; v and n parallels through the way they respond to pain/death and also because of how much each of them remembers.

Love in Translation--Everyone Is Right This Show Is Great
Ok so I was convinced by these great posts by @bengiyo here and @lurkingshan here to catch up and prioritize this series.
But then I watched Minato's Laundromat s2 instead (which was a disappointment, bad decision).
And then I lied again and watched Only Friends ep6 as cough you may have noticed based on my posting this past 24hrs.
But now I'm finally actually keeping my word and prioritizing Love in Translation lol
And of course, they were totally right, this show is so good!
I'd already seen episode 1; it was chaotic but cute, and already established the older/younger brother dynamic as well as the chemistry between the two leads and the full cast of supporting characters--who bengiyo rightfully points out are delightful.
Episode 2 hits the ground running and the next few episodes flew by on my catch-up binge; as lurkingshan said, the pacing on this show is FAST and really enjoyable. With the absurd premise established they jumped right into character development and pining! I love a grumpy on the outside because he has too many feelings on the inside character, and Yang is perfect. He fell so hard so fast for Phumjai's sunshine charisma (which bengiyo is so right, is a rare breed of happy and energetic but not annoying). And I love that they've established pretty clearly that Phumjai needs someone to believe in him (hello, Dangerous Romance's Khaotung, I see you), and that Yang warming up and trusting him is going to be the thing to sway his heart. Yang clearly being aware of his feelings and helping Phumjai talk to Tammy anyway is giving me so much of the good kind of pain! I love a pining while helping my love interest with their romance because I am secretly a simp even though I seem cold character. Yang's tiny smiles give me life. And I also really love a smile through my pain because I desperately want to protect everyone around me at cost to myself character, so this show is really giving me everything I could want and then some.
Love in Translation is so good at earning every emotional response the characters give... lurkingshan talked about this in her pitch and I'm going to double down because this show keeps surprising me in the best way. Yang is not just jealous, he knows something. Phumjai is not just inexperienced, he's never been trusted to stand on his own or make any decisions for himself. There's a reason why Phumjai hesitates and why Yang pulls back. Every time there's a character decision that moves forward the plot that in any other show would be handwaved away, it's explained and given context and I am LIVING. I can't wait to find out why his brother is so overprotective, for example, because I now trust this show to give us that.
I can't talk about this show as much as I want to without spoilers so cutting the below for those who have been convinced but don't want to be spoiled. But for those who have not yet been convinced: Below the cut I talk about how this show queues up annoying narrative tropes to undermine them. I also just want to say while I'm still above the line, the chemistry between the two leads is excellent:
this show is very pretty (some really interesting shots and use of the store aisles for framing, as well as lovely colour grading):
the interpersonal drama is so far quite good at staying interwoven with actual work (I know absolutely nothing about running a mini mart but at least they do seem to do work in a workplace show, and at least some of the episodic challenges are about work/sales), and the comedy is not too slapstick. At least one side couple (involving Ngern! My beloved) has an arc clearly forming and I am hopeful the other will too.
And for you colour girlies, @respectthepetty has written brilliantly about the colours in this show meaning things (and already been proven right).
TL;DR Love in Translation is so far a really, really enjoyable viewing experience!
Oh hi! For the record, I will be potentially spoiling through episode 5. This is just me gushing about stuff that might be spoilery, don't expect any brilliance here lol
God I love how this show tees up tropes to undermine them. Tammy is an influencer, but Phumjai fell for her because they met in person and she made him feel competent and listened to. Tammy is a player, but Phumjai is aware and makes no demands. Phumjai made Tammy feel like someone really cared about her and so she decided to be serious about him (rather than Tammy playing into the evil woman stereotype). Yang is clearly already aware of his feelings, but decides to help and Phumjai go on a practice date, and doesn't hold back, AND gives the older brother a baller speech about letting people make their own choices. Phumjai isn't totally thoughtless about Yang during the practice date, he doesn't just focus on Tammy and chooses things Yang would like. And then when he goes on the date he doesn't sublimate, Phumjai realizes something is going on and goes to talk to Yang, who kisses him!!! Phumjai reacts badly and avoids Yang, but it's because he realizes he has a crush and thinks he needs to make it go away rather than because of gay panic. Yang starts pushing Phumjai away, but it's because he's literally under threat rather than because he's scared of having emotions, and he doesn't want to risk Phumjai's safety. And this also puts Yang's intensity, anger, and seriousness about the business and how its doing in context because (I think) he owes folks money and is very worried about being found before he can pay them back.
And because the show gives good reasons for why these characters have these reactions or make these decisions, the show is also able to explain when these reactions or decisions change! Yang doesn't just forget about his crush or his history with Tammy, she proves to him she's serious this time with her actions. Yang thought he was safe and he finds out he isn't, so he stops pursuing Phumjai.
What I'm really, really hoping for in the next ep: we know from the trailer that Phumjai bolts, I'm assuming because Yang says something unclear to push him away again, and Tammy finds him. I'm really hoping this gives Phumjai and Tammy a chance to air things out, and for Yang to realize he needs to be honest with Phumjai about what's going on so that they can ~please for once, BL gods~ face their troubles together!
Also can I just go off on a rant and say how much I love Phumjai? At first I was afraid he would be annoying either because he's so sunshine or because he's incompetent or both, but besides his obsession with Tammy (which I will admit at least is motivating for him lol) he is actually really dedicated to his job and works really hard. Love that Phumjai's recruits are already on his side and defend him to Yang, even moreso than Tag, Phumjai's so-called best friend (I am side eyeing you sir) does to Phojai.
Really holding onto hope that this show keeps surprising me because I'm really enjoying every time it does it!

I have questions that include spoilers so don’t read if you don’t want spoilers. But read & answer if you know. Please.
Am I correct in assuming that Phaya in some way was a Garuda or related to in his past life while Tharn was Naga meaning they were meant to be enemies till they fell for each other?
I know the part where Tharn is a naga & how he was in love with the Naga King aka the Dr but the Dr wasn’t into him till Tharn fell for Phaya.
Vaguely remember something about Phaya killing someone Tharn cared for or something along those lines which I’m assuming is the flashback we got for ep6 preview.
I know something happens -can’t remember as I write this- that Tharn hurts Phaya or something that makes him feel guilty & promise to protect him in their reincarnation which is why he always saves him.
So all this to go back to the Garuda question.
