kuroshitsuji's chapters have been padding for time for a longtime now, but im just as afraid the manga will rush it's conclusion towards the end (ive seen it before) and not spend anytime on characters we do like. So which characters do yall want to have a major character moment before the story ends?*

*Im not counting major characters like Lizzy, Soma, the Queen, etc, who i'm certain will get focus eventually. this is more for characters whose importance in the the plot is a little shaky atm and could change at a moment's notice (aka Yana's whims)

Hello! Hope you're having a nice day. I just wanted to ask something about Charles phipps because it's been one of my shower thoughts lol. So we know Charles grey is an earl right? How about Charles Phipps? I don't think there's a mention of his peerage title or anything. He's only called by 'sir' and if he was from a noble family afaik he would be called 'Lord'. Is it possible that he's not from a noble family? No one mentioned he was an earl or anything. It doesn't seem like he's the son of a noble either. Just very curious about this miniscule detail. '

Is Phipps a noble?

We must assume that Charles Phipps is in the nobility. And here's why: generally speaking, any high-ranking servant of the queen is going to be of high birth. Even the queen's chambermaids or ladies-in-waiting are in the peerage. Victoria even calls him Phipps, which places him higher than he would have been if she'd called him Charles.

Charles Grey becomes earl when his father dies, which occurs during the manga series. Idk Phipps' rank, but I suspect he might be even higher than an earl. However, if his father is still alive, he won't have the title just yet. He'd just be Lord Phipps... but the queen doesn't have to call him by that, and she definitely seems comfortable enough skipping the formality.

I have not noticed him being called sir, but if that's true, then he's knighted. And I'd believe it.

Anyway, that link also mentions how the court is filled by nepotism. Grey and Phipps likely got their positions because of their noble parents. They had to train, of course, and they must have various skills already, but they would have been selected among the sons of noble families.

Okay so since Black Butler is like the Octavius to my Roman Empire, here are some random, sleep-deprived thoughts I had on it today, wether they make sense or not (spoiler alert!):

Maybe the reason behind Sebastian's human face lies a little closer to Ciel than the whole "It's Vincent's face" theory. What if it was the twin's faces growing up? I mean he is a sort of the replacement for the R!Ciel since his soul was sacrificed to summon him, and he will take O!Ciel's soul as soon as the contract is done, making it highly unlikely that either of them will reach adulthood. It might be a way to show what could have been.

If O!Ciel holds on to the ring, and it has been stated by both their father and R!Ciel that the ring is a sign of the heirloom of the Phantomhive earldom, couldn't it have been used as prove that O!Ciel is the rightful heir now in some way?

Sebastian is depicted with many different heads and powers in both his true and disguised forme. Then does he truly have a "real" forme we humans can preceive? Or are all the animal heads, multiple eyes and boots just part of the illusions he can create and is he no more than a "cloud" of black smoke/goop (at least to us)?

Did O!Ciel see a bit of himself in Finny since he wasn't able to go outside that much during his childhood because of his asthma?

Would Snake have told the other servants about his act in the circus? And if so, would have performed it for them sometime on request?

The average age to get wed in the mid to late 19th century was allegedly 22 for women and 26 for men. Neither Double Charles nor Edward, whom all appear to be close to that age, seem to have a fiancée, despite their status playing a role. What would cause them to fall outside of the average?

I want more double charles content in the world

Charles Grey and Charles Phipps are amazing and I crave more content for them so please anyone who sees this please do something, anything with them

Grey: Randomly attacks Bard and Mey for no reason, kills Sebastian in cold blood, then stomps on his “corpse”

Phipps: “attacks” Finny with a needle and thread to patch the hole in his hat. Also he’s tall

I think we know which of the Charles’ is better.

I actually have a question for everyone what the hell was the actual point of the manor murder arc? did I miss something? like literally nothing happened that progressed the story it was just confusing and fun for the sake of it

I guess it introduced double charles and the queen's doubts about ciel but jesus still

not that im complaining its a banger but its like canon filler
