I was with a group of friends at a con one time, and they were in a black butler cosplay group. Well this older Japanese woman came up to us and seemed really happy to see a black butler cosplay group. She got their picture, and afterwards my friends were all convinced that they just met Yana Toboso. (It most definitely wasn't since this was a local con in America, and Yana Toboso is supposedly only in her late 30s? And that womam was much older than that)

I don’t think this is an unpopular opinion but I wish we would’ve gotten the servants arcs spread throughout the manga instead of just dumped all at once right after the biggest reveal in the entire story. I love the servants but I miss my son 🥲

Hey dear!! Maybe start with turning anon off before completely turning asks off? I’ve noticed people are a lot less likely to send actual hate or post opinions that are directly rude towards other fans if they know it can be tracked back to them specifically and in return cause hate towards them. The problem isn’t the contradicting opinions- the problem is the way some people react to others not having the same opinion as them. We should all be able to respect that others have different opinions but sometimes fandom spaces can be a bit toxic. It’s meant to be fun and a nice way for people to discuss and confess things but there are some subjects in this fandom that just seem to breed hate. I think you’ve done a great job running this blog so far but you have to do what’s comfortable for you!! I’m sorry that running this blog has become stressful for you :(

i think i will just turn anon off for now. it kinda feels like the most effective thing i can do besides turning off the asks rn. ill feel bad abt running a confessions blog with anons off but i just. idk man

its usually p chill and sometimes fun running this blog, but then i get an ask thats kinda eug, and then it gets posted and asks rush in and the pot gets stirred all over again </3 again, ty for the support and suggestion

This was a fun idea and I think when it comes to anything with anon users, they’re going to say mean things because they think they can get away with it. Maybe make it a rule to not use any rude language toward people in the fandom regardless of opinion? I’m not sure if that’ll help. If it’s too much stress at the end of the day I think everyone will understand if you decide to shut it down. Thank you for trying to make this a fun thing for everyone! 💜

i feel bad for changing the rules so often. i want to keep this as friendly and non-toxic as i can, but i also dont want it to be a place where people cant express themselves all that well.

i really dont want to shut this down after such a short time, so ill try to avoid that as much as possible. ty for your support though, its appreciated <3

I think this blog had the potential to be a fun thing for people to participate in but is now mainly a breeding ground for hate.

One person tries to do a good fun thing and all these people just kind of ruined it. It’s your blog and of course run it the way you’d like but I would just like to request you stop using certain hashtags when the confession is hate targeted toward those specific people of the fandom.

Black butler has always had a very toxic fan base but it was easy to block it out when it didn’t show up under specific hashtags.

i tried to keep it nice but then opinions are posted and its hard to keep spaces nice when theres contradicting opinions

as much as i dont want to, i may have to shut down this blog to avoid further stress/controversy. if it keeps going and people keep being mean in my inbox instead of dealing w things personally ill either turn off anons(which feels stupid for a confessions blog) or just turn off asks :(

that anon that doesnt like Yana; its the same for me, tumblr is the only place I interact with the fandom because of nostalgia, but otherwise I try to avoid it because the idea of running into someone that likes her despite of her weird projects is too high of a risk for me. I dont think I would like black butler either if I just found out about it, but since its been so many years I just kind of created a fanon in my head that doesnt give me the ick ig

So I love Black Butler. It’s been my hyperfixation for almost a decade now. But I refuse to pay any type of money for it. Everything I consume I consume illegally unless it’s fan-made.

I do this on purpose because I don’t want to support Yana. I know I don’t know her personally but from the little we know about her, I don’t think she is a good person. I usually just stop reading/watching something made by a creator who I think is bad but I just can’t with Black Butler. I feel like I’m straight up obsessed with this stupid story. I would say about 75% of my thoughts are black butler related. I get like this with lots of things but black butler has been the most consistent with this being my 9th year of being a fan.

Ik it’s because Yana is changing her style and learning new techniques and stuff but my personal fav headcanon about Sebastian and his ever changing appearance is that he just gets bored and is like “fuck it time for a new nose!! Aha hope no one notices!!” Or he’s out on the street and is like “I love the shape of her eyes…WELP that’s my eye shape now! :)”

Y’all might know my dog’s name is Alois. I named her that because even though I hated season 2, I thought Alois was such a pretty name plus I found out it was a German name and my dog is half German shepherd so I was like win-win…

Freshman year of college I joined a cat rescue group and everyone was sending pictures of their pets in the group chat. I send a picture of my dog and was like “This is my baby, Alois :)”

IMMEDIATELY all these people were like “o my gosh from black butler?? Do you watch black butler??? I love black butler!!!!!”

I forgot that Alois was a name that’s pretty much only associated with Black Butler and I hated people knowing I liked it for some reason. I was just so embarrassed and I couldn’t help thinking to my self “why the hell would you name your dog that if you didn’t want anyone to know??”

So yeah…high school me didn’t really think that one through lmaooo

When I was in college, I used to essentially closet cosplay as Ciel to class on the regular. (minus wig and eye patch) But the real wild thing is someone followed me into the bathroom one morning to ask if I was cosplaying Ciel. ily black butler fans, idk how she could tell, but I still think about it to this day (it was back in 2018)
