Original Donkey foal sketch | Limited edition fine art print from an original drawing.
My sketches start life as hand-drawn graphite images made on cartridge paper. I often work on these with charcoal, oil pastel or Caran d'Ache to create the look I'm after. The artwork is then scanned and finessed digitally ready for fine art printing. This process often referred to as Giclée printing uses the highest standard of printing methods to give gallery quality results that maintain all the details of the original sketch.
The graphite pencils I use are Faber-Castel, the oil pastels are Sennelier and the china-graph is Caran d’Ache. The inks are pigment based archive quality (100years+). The heavyweight specialist papers I use are of the best professional quality having a wonderful surface designed specifically for fine art drawings and illustrations.
Very limited editions with only ten per size printed.
All artwork is signed and includes a certificate of authenticity.

Apple Pencil was freaking out on me, so I didn’t get to work on stop like I wanted. Now that it’s temporarily working have another centaur study of a donkey foal late for class.
All of my centaur studies are now tagged "Day in a Life of a Centaur" if you ever want to find them faster.

But he knew what was wrong within seconds as he spotted the donkey. He moved slow now, so he wouldn’t startle her, but she was laying on the ground and her belly was very large. Slowly, slowly.. closer and closer.. Until he knelt beside her and put a hand on her swollen belly.
“Easy, girl… Easy.” Petting, a bit of gentle prodding around her hindquarters which she protested to, but he kept whispering and offering soothing sounds to her. “It’s okay.. I’m not going to hurt you, or your foals. Easy, girl..” He turned his odd pink gaze to Luisa, worry written plain on his face.
“She’s having babies, but she’s struggling.” He told her. “A foal might be stuck or otherwise in a bad position. I.. I’m pretty sure I know how to help, but.. I can’t do it alone.”

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook, along with the story telling us what we’re seeing. The story is from Andy Coleman Historical Images:
In July 1958, the French 13e demi-brigade de Légion étrangère (13th Demi-Brigade of the Foreign Legion) was on duty in Algeria (near Jebel) when they found a foal (a baby donkey) that had been abandoned and was dying of hunger. The soldiers took pity of the animal and decided to take it back with them to their base.
The photo was shared in the Paris Match and Daily Mail newspapers, as well as in the British newspaper the Daily Mirror in September 1958.
A Muslim harki [generic term for native Muslim French who served as auxiliaries in the French Army during the Algerian War of Independence from 1954 to 1962] carried the donkey, whom they nicknamed Bambi, back to the base with him after the animal couldn’t keep pace with the legionnaires. Bambi would eventually become the official mascot of the French Foreign Legion unit.
“The donkey was weak with hunger and could not keep up with the fast-moving Legion men. It looked as if it would have to be left behind. Then along came a mortar man, already burdened with heavy equipment. Rather than let the donkey die, he hoisted it on top of his pack and carried his ‘beast of burden’ all the way back to base.”

i need to be able to do this for Mary too xD like, the additional textures for the animals overall, but also like them not merging into one Mega Foal/Donkey (Fonkey)
apparently some peeps dont like herding?? I do honestly, one of my fav things to do, i just hate that multi herding that isnt animals that follow behind you is SO garbo.
