I've gotten a few different questions about this, so I tried to put together a quick visual reference for why I think the short hair will show up again!
It's very very tiny, but the edges where Kuras' hair cuts off in the "NPC" screenshot don't match up with where his hair normally falls on his real sprite – that little loop you see at his neckline cuts right through a lock of the short hair, and new lineart has been drawn over that gap. So this is actually a different hair, since if the longer part was just on a separate layer from the top part you would still see the edge of that lock through the loop.
I don't think it will actually be the Hot Topic Kuras in the full game (as much fun as I've had theorizing how it could be), but I do think this short hair will show up on his normal look at some point in the story! Hair cutting has a lot of symbolic uses, and a narrative about guilt/repentance is rife with ways to use that imagery.

I am genuinely upset about Andi! WTF is FSG doing? She's one of the best in the entire league! The pens online presense was top tier but with ITR gone last year, and now Andi, I don't have any idea what their plans are. Please let Jen be safe! I'm sure Andi will find a place. I'm not too worried for her. The Pens media department tho
I really wish her the best in whatever she does next. She was at the helm at the peak of the Pens' social media engagement and prominence, and while that fell off as she ascended the ladder and became a VP/further removed from the day-to-day posting, I think she did a ton of good work here.
I'll be very interested in how the department reconfigures in her absence. There seem to be a lot of power vacuums right now, with lots of people with long tenures at the Pens departing. Part of me hopes there's a chance for young blood; other teams have been doing more innovative, more curious, and more creative stuff in terms of their media. While losing legacy employees is a loss, I can only hope that there's an infusion of youthful, out-of-the-box thinking coming our team's way. It's the best we can hope for.
#I'd be galled if jen were let go frankly. like sure no one is too high up to be safe w/e but she is HIGH UP#and she's very ingratiated w/ the players (think about geno's “I want to go home jen” lol)#while I don't doubt andi was a familiar face to them I think they rely on jen a *lot*.#I think about her interview she did where she said she thought of some of them (kris/sid/g) as her kids lol#but also I thought andi was safe when I read the announcement today so clearly this is all conjecture and I don't claim to KNOW anything#I think our media has been falling behind in the past several years admittedly.#it's hard because I *did* join the fandom when the team was at its peak and I think that makes media/fan engagement easier. you're a winner#but I think it's just a matter of fact that we are not as cutting edge as we once were on our socials#the loss of ITR blows and I'm still mad at FSG for that#but I think they have a chance now to prove they care about getting back to innovation. I don't know that I trust them to execute it though#also I don't want this to be a critique of andi. especially when she's freshly off of losing her role.#this is more about the org itself needing to refocus on being innovative.#they've been a bit too comfortable in a lot of aspects in the past few years. having been to more arenas now and seeing more teams do thing#I have found it easy to say it feels like other teams/orgs are TRYING harder.#seattle puts on a show every game. their in-arena partners are cool. they have live music before every game. they have a freakin' drum line#y'know? pittsburgh had.... a really annoying train airhorn this season that they abandoned halfway through lol#the spirit of innovation has been gone for a few years now. if this gets it back... well we'll all be lucky IF that happens.

My most recent serious animatic, Blossom, didn't perform as well as I expected on YouTube, which was disappointing for me. Those take super duper long to make, so it was a little frustrating to see it get outperformed by a fairly low-effort shitpost video I posted just after it.
That's just kind of how it is online, though. Short, meme-able stuff will always get more popular than more serious, slower stuff. I think once you know that going in, it gets easier to just roll with it.
11: Do you listen to anything while drawing?
Absolutely always lol. I watch/listen to a lot of gaming videos on my phone while I draw. I'm obviously a big fan of Kirby music, and I've got a lot of the more recent OSTs on my PC to listen to. I also really like Kirby remixes; right now I'm really into azifly's stuff. They released this super cool Triple Deluxe orchestral suite a few months ago, and they've got an Amazing Mirror one coming out in a few days for its anniversary.
Other than that, I've got really stereotypical Tumblr user music taste. I listen to a lot of Lemon Demon and Will Wood, and I'm starting to get into Mother Mother lol. Such is the life of a Tumblr girlie.

I think maybe I've made some friends here. particularly a couple of girls on my hall who have been very kind to me.#wish my emotions would come back and be normal#and by 'normal' I mean not just random crying whenever I try to sit still and think for a few minutes.#there's so much happening. my heart is pulled so many ways. I'm not sure how to resolve any of it.#and I'm aching for resolution.#but I think God is trying to show me how much more I still haven't done or experienced#even though a lot of times I feel like I've lived all of life there is to live and there's nothing left anymore.#I wish I had more trustworthy people in my life who are older than me and can help speak into this experience.#I need to call my parents and siblings back home. I miss them.#I keep questioning my decision to come here. maybe I should've stayed home.#I don't know. maybe it's all an exercise in trust.#I'm still afraid most of the time I think. I wish I could put that fear to death. aki is just.... a little obsessive over you... he'd probably convince you to quit devil hunting and come live with him (so he can keep you safe, is his excuse, and it's partly true, but he also just wants to keep you as close as possible). he's quite busy, in between his duties as one of the strongest devil hunters and as the commander of his division, but he always seems to make time for you.
hell, he's often yelled at by the higher-ups for always slacking off on his duties in order to be with his favorite subordinate. to say your co-workers are jealous of the way mister hayakawa constantly gives you special treatment would be an understatement.
in the end, aki isn't after your chainsaw heart, he just wants you. your affection, your devotion, for you to adore him just as much as he's come to adore you. and he doesn't plan on using his powers in order to make you feel this way, because then, it wouldn't be authentic, would it? he knows he can take the best care of you, he's just waiting for you to realize that.
#control devil aki would be a bit.... unhinged though#I don't think he'd care much about climbing to the top or anything like that#he doesn't really have any grand motives or anything of the sort#but he has no problem disposing of anyone who threatens his division or happens to get in his way#he'd be extremely loyal to all of his subordinates because I think even as the control devil he'd feel for people when they die#he would probably be well liked by most people#but he might still have a couple enemies lol#makes me wonder how control devil aki and kishibe would get along#I think kishibe probably knows aki doesn't have much to hide but he can't trust him completely#the depth this au could have.....#it's making me crazy#ask mags#aki <3

Can't believe this. I am working on a fic that is only halfway through. The main conflict hasn't even arisen yet, and what happens? I come up with an idea for ANOTHER fic. I cannot take this.

Thought it would be fun to share that for Christmas my bf got me a custom-made Xenoblade-concept-art puzzle and we're working on it together :)
#aside#xenoblade#is this concept art??? it's in the monado archives but i do know the story behind xc1's lack of/''retro-made'' concept art#either way it's one of my favorite pieces of video game art ever and it was very sweet of my bf to remember that and get this for me :)#the poses and composition are so goodddd and the art style!!! idk if there's a name for it but i LOVE it#it's like pseudo-watercolor-ish? but kind of not? i have no clue how to describe it lol#but some final fantasy art (especially everything from crystal chronicles!! my beloved) is in a similar medium/style and it's just lovely#also this puzzle is so freaking hard lmao it's 1000 pieces and 30% of them are just bluish white#about 40% of them are a jumbled mess of brown and/or gray lines and circles#and then aside from the few identifiable pieces (like their faces) the rest are just red.#so as you can see we've decided to start by doing the red ones haha#it's a fun challenge overall though haha#i can't wait to see what it looks like when it's all put together :)#also yes i know that disconnected spot in the bottom right totally looks like those edge pieces should fit together but they don't#trust me i tried. there's just a lost edge piece somewhere in the middle-piece pile and i desperately need to find it haha#also also fun fact: when i took the second pic my camera recognized Reyn's face as a face hahaha

I wish I had more reasons to wear my belt pants but they're a pain in the ass to wash because I have to take the belts off and turn them inside out and then air dry them but maybe I should start just like wearing them around the house for no reason. To remind them that they're still loved
