do NOT message me. I'm busy mourning all of the languages I'll never learn and countries I'll never visit and books I'll never read and foods I'll never eat and art I'll never see and history I'll never know and skills I'll never have and events I'll never be able to go to and people I'll never meet and hobbies I'll never try. btw.

i think light yagami is "socially adept" in terms of being able to reason out relatively well what to say and do to come off as a harmless and good and polite young man who is likeable to be around. however i do not think "socially adept" (or "neurotypical") typically comes with having to preface every other normal-passing action and statement with a minor crisis of "ah shit. quick, what would i say/do in response to this if i was light yagami, a normal and nice and respectable young man?"
everyone likes to talk about him talking about kira in third person but can we acknowledge that he also talks about LIGHT in third person. i'm not adding manga panels at 3:57am but y'all know exactly which ones i mean

I understand being upset that the character you saw yourself most in died, that he didn't get to sail off with everyone else. We've been force-fed tragedy and buried gays for years, happiness finally finally dangled in front of them just to lose it all before they could taste it.
But that's not what happened here. Izzy didn't just get to glance at what that life could be, he lived it. He got to experience family, and acceptance. He got to make choices to step forward, to be himself to be HAPPY. The way people are implying that because he died, it was all pointless?! That his healing and growth and huge steps forward all became null and void because he died??? Life and growth and love and choosing family choosing to fight for and protect them even knowing what it might cost is EVERYTHING! It's the WHOLE POINT!!!
This was not a condemnation of Izzy it was a celebration of him. This was a reminder that even though we're all going to die, no matter how much pain you've been through, you can still choose to heal and move forward and live for yourself and the ones you love.
Nevermind the entire rest of the crew?! Nevermind the gay marriage, the chill polyamory, the in depth dive into suicide (via Ed) and how none of us is unlovable. Nevermind that he died surrounded by family and love, something he never thought possible. You CANNOT just discard it all and harass the creators & take this as a message of despair when it is a blazing neon sign to KEEP LIVING KEEP FIGHTING KEEP SINGING!!!!! To do so is to get lost in the pain and the internalized voices that say we Will be miserable forever, when so so many people are working to make this art begging you to be able to feel and move forward and heal from that place.

Ok so Buddy works in space McDonalds right? Does that mean others have a job somewhere as well?
ill admit that in the comic i used space mcdonalds mostly for comedic effect........ i mean they propably worked at a space fast food restaurant at some point, but it definetely wasnt their only job!
okay so after eeneks unexpected family reunion the clones, eenek and zora all decide to stay on znahors ship for the time being(it gets a little cramped but its bearable), and they just kinda start going from place to place after that?? before picking them all up znahor already was doing essentialy that, anyway- he traveled from planet to planet, occasionally helping the locals and then fucking off elsewhere. so thats what they do! they jump from one star system to the next, never staying anywhere for long, trying to not bring any unwanted attention to themselves, and they get by mostly by doing random odd jobs(some more legal than others..) and stuff.
they all(ecept for taka bc hes like 10) get their fair share of shitty jobs, but they dont really have a choice, do they? the war is over, sure, but obviously such a long conflict leaves an impact on the world. the chaos is on one hand a blessing, bc an odd bunch like three galrans and a gaggle of humans dont bring much attention in a sea of refugees, but it also means that sometimes things get messy, and making ends meet is difficult.
out of the clones, buddy has the most experience and knowledge about how alien worlds function, so they often end up with jobs that require communication and frequent interaction with other people- basically what im trying to say is that they work customer service. a lot. they survive it by remembering how infiuriating diplomacy was and telling themselves that hey! at least them fucking something up wont put the fate of the universe into jeopardy this time!! stickbug often works alongside them, but he hates interacting with customers even more that buddy does and tries to avoid this kind of job as much as he can(my man spent too much time trying to please everyone in his childhood and is OVER IT). i mean all of them get a customer service job from time to time but bud is the one whos least terrible at it
im not sure if the others have any preferred jobs tbh, but the idea of soup trying competetive fighting at some point would be interesting to explore i think........
