If you've got a DnD game getting started and you and your buddy don't know what to play as, I've got a suggestion for you.

Play as a Knight and their Mighty Steed!

A centaur has an equine body and is medium sized, this means you can easily get a saddle for them and let a small creature, such as a halfling player character, ride you. Now why would a centaur want a halfing rider? Because of the Mounted Combatant feat. that let's them direct attacks away from you (the centaur) and essentially gives you the evasion feature. This lets you play a fairly squishy centaur whithout having to worry about losing concentration on spells or dying so much!

But why would your friend want to play as this halfing, or other small race? Because they can use a lance and have you postition them into the right place to avoid disadvantage on their lamce attacks as well as giving them advantage on their melee attacks on small creatures due to the Mounted Combatant feat.! It gets even better if you can cast englarge on yourself as that lets your small friend get advantage on medium enemies, one of the most common enemy sizes!

So go on out there and play as a Knight and their Mighty Steed!
