🍬Happy 3 year anniversary to the Minty Frazzles AU!! 🍬
(it was actually on the 26th last month but shhhh)
The duo are prowling at nighttime within the lush Dimble Woods...
This is my hand at trying to make a comic book cover <3
Fawful and Aquamarine (aka Minty) are here looking more determined than ever! Even gave them references for their main weapons they wield for now

Dimble Wood
From Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
"This forest has been best by many incidents of late. Crop ransacking, castle overthrowing, giant monsters... So we're going on high alert. No access through here."
- Wiggler, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
I adore all the Wiggler-themed stuff in this area! Statues, crates, pillars! The star-shaped stones are very interesting to me, I wonder what they could mean in relation to the Wigglers or the forest itself.

what are wario n waluigi up to?
Wario woke up, staring at the cluster of branches and leaves above him
Wario: “Huh? Where am I?”
Waluigi: “I don’t know.”
He turned to see his brother sitting on a nearby rock
Waluigi: “Good to see that you’re up. I was worrying I was gonna have to kiss you.”
Wario: “Oh shut up!”
He looked around
Wario: “Well, we’re in a forest.”
Waluigi: “Wow, how’d you figure one out?”
Wario snarled at him in anger before returning to his original thought
Wario: “What I was trying to say is that we probably just got teleported to a random forest.”
Waluigi: “No we didn’t.”
Wario: “Oh, so suddenly, you’re the woodland expert? I used to own forest land you know!”
Waluigi: “Yeah, and how’d that work out for you? I recall you getting blown away by Toad?”
He grumbled in response
Waluigi: “Anyway, what I was trying to say was that this isn’t any forest in the Mushroom Kingdom. Not Dimble Wood, not Toad Forest, Not The Ghost Woods and Not Wiggler’s Forest!”
Wario: “What are you getting at?”
Waluigi: “I’m saying that this ain’t the Mushroom Kingdom. Or any neighbouring kingdom for that matter. We’re clearly in some kind of alternate universe or something.”
Wario could feel his blood boil as anger rose within him
Wario: “All this… All this because of that stupid chest… AND WE DIDN’T EVEN GET ANY MONEY FROM IT!”

Treevil (M&L: Bowser's Inside Story)
Here's another headcanon: maybe Treevils were once the primary inhabitants of Dimble Woods, but after hundreds of years, the newer, stronger trees took over, causing the dwindling number of Treevils to become weaker and hostile.

HEY HEY. YOUR MARIO PRINCESS IS SOOO PRETTY AND YOU SHOULD RAMBLE ABOUT HER IF YOU’D LIKE (no pressure tho!! I just really like learning about others’ Mario self inserts/ocs so they can be friends with mine,, adfmskd)
Aaaa thank you!! 😭💖
Princess Mint is still a fairly new OC, so I don’t have much info about her atm. But here’s a few little facts about her I’ve come up with so far:
* She resides in Dimble Woods and has her own castle too. It’s smaller compared to Princess Peach’s and Bowser’s.
* She is Princess Peach’s cousin.
* Luigi is her best friend.
* She mainly uses fire magic.
* She is stoic and strong, yet kindhearted and gentle. She has some social awkwardness and can sometimes be a bit of a klutz.
That’s all I’ve really got so far, but it makes me so happy to see you’re interested in learning all about Mint! I’ll be producing more content real soon! ☺️

December 16 - 17, DY 26
Ainsley parts from the caravan before they descend towards the series of circular townships that comprise the city of Alfomb. Having wreaked revenge upon her community’s ravager, she wishes to reconnect with those left, to share and hear stories.
The remaining adventurers and their weary refugees, more than a month after departing Augleth, enter the wide, clean, curved streets of one of Alfomb’s towns. Very few citizens are present, but those that are seen are elves - a handful dressed uniformly in red, knotted garments.
Zilybar is aware that the city’s governance is theocratic and assumes these strangely garbed individuals are members of the priesthood.
A nearby florist is delighted to speak the human language with our adventurers, and informs them that there is a “principality” on the other side of the curious city where foreigners have largely settled - everywhere else is homogenously elven.
Soon, the knotted priests take particular notice of the caravan and a spokesperson approaches. He offers to guide them to a nearby park where the caravan can wait while our adventurers speak to the princeps of the township. Not trusting these priests, Nur sneaks with their shepherd companions away from the others.
Nur uses their shade to scout an irregular path through the city to the foreigner’s principality, avoiding priests.
The others leave the refugees in the park, where priests are bringing food and care, and follow the spokespriest to the domed temple in the center of the district. Its central chamber appears as a library, with a circle desk in its middle. Inside this desk upon a rotatable throne is an elf of between five and ten centuries old - not yet old enough to really have entered the stage of immortal development wherein an elf transcends mortal comprehension.
When our adventurers and the priest approach the desk, two gnomes pop out from cupboards inside it. This pair act as unnecessary but required translators between our party and the elf on the throne. The princeps then babbles in a poor act of esoteric attainment to the priest, who passes on their leader’s message to the gnomes, who deliver it in common speech to the strangers.
When asked about this convoluted game of telephone, the gnomes explain that elves make everything complicated, since they have the time.
Our adventurers ask after the settling of the refugees and are told that they will all be taken care of - housing will be prepared in Principality Elvis, where they will not stick out as badly as strangers.
The war in the north is brought up, and the princeps finally speaks discernable language when they whisper to the priest to make sure the newcomers are comfortable and content so that they will not spread such messages of doom to the happy populace.
Our adventurers are okay with that.
Meanwhile Nur has made a way to Principality Elvis, where they attempt to settle Monoe, Mari, and the twins. Even after the caravan arrives and the refugees are given dormitory rooms in a housing complex, Nur resists Monoe’s insistence that they will be alright, that Nur should move on and look after themself.
Eventually Nur leaves them, and spends a while in a nearby bathhouse.
Their responsibility relieved now that the refugees are settled, our adventurers turn their minds towards the Homlich problem: how to steal the buoyant wood from the family’s private grove, and how to turn it into a vessel that will carry them to Vulcan’s Corridor and beyond. Roy visits the harbour on the St. Ecnerwal river inlet and is told that the priests hold auctions of repossessed property (ships, for example) for the citizenry of Alfomb and that there are a few docks where retiring seafarers sell their vessels.
Other answers come in the curious form of a mixed-species ranger from the same organization as Dimble - part orc, part rabbitfolk with tiefling blood - whom Roy meets on his way to the temple of this district. This woman, who introduces herself as Arlex, overheard our adventurers asking about a flying ship while in their interview with the princeps back when they first entered the city - Arlex has been investigating the Homlich family for a while now for the Rangers of the Western Star, suspecting the family of abusing the sacred grove on their property.
The newcomer joins the rest of the party to plan an approach - but ultimately they just approach without a plan, heading up the mountain road to the front gate of the Homlich House property. The property is yonic in shape, enclosed in the folds of the mountains, and its grove is inaccessible except delicately from above (flying or descending tall bluffs) or through the main gate.
While the others remain behind a bend in the road, Nur rides up to the gate and hails the guardsman on the battlements. This individual is reluctant to admit the humbly dressed shepherd just on their word that they are a guest of the patriarch - sorry, a tradesperson who was asked to check on the grove. The guard rings a bell and summons a handful of folk-at-arms riding upon axebeaks.
These newcomers are no more inclined to listen to Nur than the first guard and ultimately the shepherd is driven away by crossbow bolts.
Our adventurers, now including Arlex, return to Principality Elvis to think up a new (read: a first, a new, the only they’ve planned) plan.

Dream I had last night
Last night I had a dream I was in the Library of Alexandria, which resembled dark brown corridors with shelves containing large blue and orange books. In this library was a desk and a few stuff surrounding it that's akin to a convenience store, and I didn't buy anything there.
Next, I'm in a car, either in the backseat or as a driver. For whatever reason I wasn't wearing pants, and yet my family didn't mind. I put on a pair later. I was also playing what looked like Bowser's Inside Story except the sprites were a different style, looking more like a top-down version of Super Mario World. Also the area I was in was a forest, but it wasn't Dimble Wood. My sister was also playing the game on the 3DS, and I told her she can hold the select button to put the DS game in its original resolution.
Eventually we arrive at a nice looking house that was pretty empty, so I guess we're moving in. We go through a tour of the house, rooms were empty and color coded, like blue and orange.
I'm then on a table making... something. It was...clay? Cookies? Well whatever it is, I had a tray next to me that had some "tools". Most notable was a plastic sheet with numerous tiny dents on it, and it was labeled "noise" like it was a noise filter in an art program. And then the dream ended.

Due to my insatiable hunger for Fawful content we are now writing fic for him and his hopefully speedy recovery from being the dumbest bean alive.
Title: Beans and how to soothe them
Characters: Fawful, Popple, Bowser (for like 3 frames)
Chapters: intro and chapter 1 (more to come)
Summary: Fawful's final moments in a great battle, Popple has an asthma attack in the woods
The dark power, as it turns out, is not feeling as wonderful composing his body as it did coursing through it.
Fawful is finding breathing very difficult right now.
In simple terms, Fawful's body is on fire!
The world around him glows and pulsates, many colors swirling and changing as two little pests red and green smash into him with hammers that hurt so much worse than the last time he faced their brunt end.
The floor breathes. His legs are shaking. The air is so hot. His glasses are shattered and broken, and his legs are following their lead in this play of pain and fracturing. He may be having the panic attack, but he will choke that down to continue his fight!
And yet
He is having the dish of victory torn away from him, and loss served on a dirty platter rusted with sadness- he can feel the power of the dark star connected to his being finally shudder and die. It feels like his heart is gone. His body has never felt such chill.
Everything is moving with such swiftness- he...lost? The dark star, it is gone? Just like that? After he put in so much work, after he slaved away for so many of the hours?
Fawful needs revenge.
Fawful gathers the last of his strength for one final attack. An explosion of goodbye and suffering! To finally kill the foul fink-rats who have been a pain for so long! To finally- avenge her! Cack--
Fawful detonated into an abysmal swirl of black energy, instantly wracking Bowser's body with pain as the once-beanish, now undefined, wrecked havok in the king's body. In one quick motion, Bowser coughed up the dark poison in his body- along with all of his other unexpected visitors.
The swirl of darkness ascended high above the castle, abandoning the scene of man-meets-koopa, and instead being swept out by the southern wind.
What a pleasant breeze.
....
.....
Today is not Popple's day.
That bein' said, most days aint. First off, hes been havin a less than ideal time pullin' in a haul. Money is scarce. This 'smiling crisis' over to the east and the blorbs pandemic to the west make gettin money of any sort- legitimate or stolen- a real hassle. Everyone's just hidin' indoors n' sick, or theyve got swirly-eyed glasses and an intent to kill. Either way, Popple doesnt want a thing to do with any of em.
Hes been scraping by- with everyone shut in or downright nutty, not many palookas can stop him from stealin' in broad daylight, which brings us to today's haul: a car battery.
A pretty nice one too- one of those fancy new-age batteries for them carts that go upside-down and whatnot. It glows a faint rainbow hue with the unknowable power contained within... eh its probably actually pretty knowable and anyone with a hooniversity degree in star power engineering could understand it, but to a thief with a two-bit education? Magic, baby. Might as well be a miracle of technology. So why is this haul so troubling? Well as it turns out, this loot is surprisingly heavy. If Popple were a wimp he mighta even called it agonizingly heavy, but its fine, the intense pain in his spine means hes gettin a real workout and NOT that hes making his scoliosis ten times worse.
And heres the cherry on top of this pain of a situation- hes haulin this junk through Dimble Wood. Dimble freakin Wood.
Popple's sleeves were rolled up to his shoulders. Sure he loved his shadow thief getup (it was really the only clothes he owned) but boy oh boy if he wouldnt KILL for somethin just a little more airy. The woods are humid with the unwinding heat of the evening sun, drawing out Dimble Wood bugs that found comfortable perches on Popple's ankles, making the walk all the more unbearable.
At least the wind wasnt howling like it was earlier. A sudden hurricane with freaky purple winds was ripping through the mushroom kingdom earlier in the day, and as suddenly as it had appeared, it dispersed. Popple aint complaining that its gone though- it was just....weird. Plus, though he loathes to admit it- pretty scary. It felt like the wind wasnt just howling through the branches, but *screaming* with hatred at every living thing around him. The pure evil coming off of that storm had shook Popple to his core. He honestly needed an hour or two after the whole thing to regain his composure. Hes only managed to keep on movin by convincing himself he had some kinda heatstroke vision. Those are real, yea?
....ugh. hes really gotta focus. If he wants to not be out here after dark, hes really gotta step up the...pace...?
Popple glanced up, a familiar, dark wind rushing through the branches of the woods. The screaming sound of that wind- it makes his chlorophyll run cold with a terror thats almost instinctual.
It was not a heatstroke vision. It definitely was not.
Popple set the battery down, his spine practically yowling a silent thank-you to the stars above, as the shadow thief quickly glanced around, trying to locate the source of the uncanny storm.
The odd thing was, there *wasnt* a storm this time. No overwhelming, disasterous hurricane, just one, solitary gust of-
AGH- BLEGH- GODDAMMIT-
As if the gust of visibly purple air had some sort of personal vendetta against the bean, it took a sudden turn (can wind even DO that?!) and blew across Popple- and rather suddenly into his lungs.
A bitter taste covered Popple's tongue as his lungs immediately burn with a discomfort unlike anything hes felt in his (admittedly short) life. Instantly, unwillingly, Popple started coughing, and in the process inhaled *more* of the foul air now hanging around him, as if *waiting* to be inhaled by the man wheezing on the forest floor.
Its a painful affair- Popple is sure he can taste chloraphyll in the back of his throat. With tears in the corners of his eyes by the time the pain in his chest finally feels somewhat tolerable, he lets out a last shuddering wheeze. He doesnt know when he fell to his knees during that, but he eases himself into a sitting position instead, trying to catch his breath.
The purple breeze is gone now, only a faint, dark mist hanging in the air around Popple- which he unwittingly breathes in, to his immediate regret. At the very least, it doesnt hurt him- his chest just feels....real bad.
He should get home.
In an unfamiliar place, Fawful tries his hardest to cling onto life. He tries to breathe in time with the breathing around him, as ragged as it may be. A heartbeat that isnt Fawful's own begins lulling him into a quiet, dreamless sleep, as scared as he is that if he shuts his eyes, he'll never open them again.
This is what happens when you stay out late, see?
●●●●
Though, what does he have to be losing if he doesnt open them? After such waiting, he can finally be by her side again. He can finally...say sorry to her.
For letting her down yet again.

I know I’m probably setting myself up for disappointment, but I hope so much that the next Mario Kart includes characters from the RPGs. Imagine, we could even get M&L, SMRPG and Paper Mario themed COURSES. Imagine a course where you go though Dimble Wood.
Fawful, Geno, Starlow, Antasma, Dr. Toadley...endless possibilities. it would be so awesome
EDIT: I FORGOT PRINCE PEASLEY!

The game opens with a disease called "The Blorbs" spreading across the Mushroom Kingdom. Toads that become infected with the disease inflate like a balloon and roll around uncontrollably. A council meeting is immediately called at Princess Peach's Castle to discuss what can be done about the epidemic. Starlow, a representative of the Star Sprites that watch over the Mushroom Kingdom, also attends. At the meeting, it is discovered that all those affected had previously eaten a "Blorb Mushroom" given to them by a salesman, who is secretly the mad scientist Fawful. Bowser invades the castle attempting to kidnap Princess Peach but is defeated by Mario and expelled from the castle, sending him flying outward.
Bowser finds himself in Dimble Wood, where he is tricked by Fawful into eating a "Vacuum Shroom" that gives him the power to inhale things. Immediately after eating it, Bowser begins mindlessly inhaling everything in sight and goes back to the castle, where he inhales Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Starlow, and their friends into his body, the process shrinking all of them to microscopic size. After this, Bowser passes out, and with Peach now gone and the Blorbs disease incapacitating the majority of the Mushroom Kingdom, Fawful proceeds to take over Peach's castle, while his assistant, the boar-like Midbus, takes over Bowser's castle. Navigating Bowser's body, Mario and Luigi manage to revive him, and he is revealed to have no memory of his mindless rampage and consequently does not know the Mario brothers are inside his body. Bowser only communicates with Starlow, who nicknames herself "Chippy" to avoid suspicion. Bowser begins tracking down Fawful in an attempt to reclaim his castle with the assistance of the Mario Bros. and Starlow.
After leading Bowser into a trap, Fawful extracts Peach from inside of Bowser's body and takes possession of the Dark Star, an evil and powerful entity with a seal that can only be broken by Peach. When the trio finds a barricade preventing any of them from entering Peach's castle, Mario and Luigi are able to sneak out of Bowser's body together via warp pipe into Toad Town, where physician Dr. Toadley tells them they must gather the three Star Cures in order to create the Miracle Cure, a magical medicinal object that will cure the Blorbs disease and destroy the barricade. Bowser overhears this and races for the cures himself, only to be trapped in a safe by some of his minions who betrayed him to serve Fawful. Ultimately, the brothers collect all three star cures, and the Miracle Cure destroys the barricade, healing the Blorbs disease in the process.
Bowser is freed from the safe and tracks down Fawful in Peach's transformed castle. After Bowser defeats Midbus, the Dark Star's seal finally breaks. Fawful starts absorbing its power until Bowser punches him away, and it enters Bowser's body, where it leeches on his cells and absorbs his DNA. Mario and Luigi go back inside Bowser's body to stop the Dark Star, but it escapes, and uses Bowser's DNA to start to become a shadowy, powerful doppelgänger of Bowser named Dark Bowser, and searches for Fawful to reclaim the power that he stole from it to complete the transformation. Fawful, meanwhile, has begun trying to locate the Dark Star to finish taking its power, but Bowser finds and defeats him, just before Dark Bowser finds Fawful and absorbs him. This allows for it to finally complete its transformation, and its power threatens the Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser fights Dark Bowser, and inhales the Dark Star's core when it tries to get away after he wins, allowing Mario and Luigi to fight and destroy the Dark Star's core, thus destroying Dark Bowser and the Dark Star, restoring the Mushroom Kingdom to normal. Fawful, having been inhaled into Bowser as part of the Dark Star's core during the battle, initially feigns remorse, before suddenly self-destructing in a final effort to destroy the Mario Bros. The explosion causes Bowser to regurgitate them and everyone else that he had inhaled. Enraged by the discovery, Bowser proceeds to fight the Mario Bros. but is defeated and retreats back to his castle. The two castles are rebuilt, Bowser's minions return their loyalty to him and Peach sends Bowser a cake as gratitude for his unintentionally heroic efforts.
……:CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE PLOT OF BOWSER’S INSIDE STORY??????? IT’S A GOOD GAME BUT,;,,, BUT WHAT THE FUCK
credits for the plot:
