The line "I want to choke up chunks of my own sins" from Blood Sport is such a violently graphic line that has no right to be so.
First off, sin is biblical (obviously), and this line paints the picture of how and where is resides; deep down in someone's being that, if to be forgiven, they have to run the risk of choking on it all if only to reach sanctity. Afterall, It's not 'spit out' or even 'throw up' sins (I know, in retrospect, neither sound particularly good lyrically but just roll with me here), it's choke up.
Plus, the line reminds me a bit of Vore; being stuck in the throat of a God, wondering if the pain will stop if they go deeper. Although Vore comes way after Blood Sport, it puts us in the perspective that Vessel himself is sin, or, at least, views himself as so, stuck in the throat of a two faced God.
And then the following lines (ouch); "Even if the sky cracks in the morning, and the heavens just won't open up for me."
In Calcutta, we're met with the idea that The Night becomes sacred holy time for Vessel during his relationship with Sleep. Therefore, in multiple songs, the morning is treated, at first, with joy and happiness, but then it's greeted almost as an enemy. Something to avoid.
Then, in Euclid, we have the line "and if your wings won't find you Heaven, I'll bring it down like an Ancient Bygone." He's already said that the Heavens won't open up for him anymore, so, he gives whoever he's talking to in Blood Sport his place. He brings down Heaven for them even though he knows neither of them deserve it.
This is then followed by Vessel asking questions he will never be given an answer to, and wallows in what he already knows; loving them is a blood sport, and his sin will stay stuck in his throat until he leaves and realises he has to change.
And don't even get me started on how Vessel sounds in that entire song.

kana and ruby are both characters who have been abandoned, whether it was unintentional or intentional, so kana deciding to take this heartbreaking step all to help ruby by appearing to abandon her knowing the devastation she is about to wreak because she's experienced it herself but doing it anyway because kana arima has never been more important than other peoples dreams and goals has always been the one to be sacrifice she does it again because she will be fine she always has been shes always been alone (right?)
(maybe a part of her is finally happy to say it all to let it all out but she buries that part because its shameful, isnt it? why should she take catharsis when shes caused her friend pain?)
and ruby who has been left behind being suddenly blindsided by this betrayal from kana, the one whos always supported her, on top of every other betrayal she has experienced left doubting every relationship she has wondering why why why why do people keep leaving?

Just watched Sick and Tired (Golden Girls s5, episodes 1 & 2) and aside from the obviously great work these episodes did in highlighting just how awful it can be to be diagnosed with a chronic illness, I had to take a minute to appreciate Rose. Because she's genuinely amazing here.
We're in these episodes where obviously, Dorothy isn't at her best. She's not there to be the voice of reason, to make sure everything runs smoothly — and usually you'd think Sophia would turn into the anchor then, because she seems to have most of her wits about her. But rather than Sophia, or even Blanche, it's Rose who steps up and keeps some semblance of order around the house.
Rose goes to New York with Dorothy because she's comforting, because she's sweet and understanding and unlike Blanche, she's able to take Dorothy seriously without considering her own problems. Rose takes care of Blanche during her... writer's high? If that's what we can call it? And it's just. She displays so much emotional intelligence in these episodes, and she keeps it all together for the four of them when all the others are falling apart. I love the rare episodes where we get to see how important Rose is; how much there really is going on underneath the surface.
#my little headcanon is that blanche obsesses over writing because she can't bear to face reality happening around her#dorothy? sick?? possibly *dangerously sick*?? no way! she flat out refuses the possibility#like that opening scene where dorothy enters the kitchen and starts talking about how the doctor told her she's fine#and blanche goes all 'well if the doctor said you're fine then you are! even if you look like hell!'#you could see that as disinterest. but i think blanche is just trying very very hard to convince herself that dorothy's fine#because she can't face the possibility that she isn't#so obviously when she can't ignore the truth any longer she throws herself into writing#obsessively i might add!#i mean. the woman doesnt sleep for 78 hours#that's not even normal for a writer lmao#she's avoiding the truth by fully devoting her attention to something else#to the detriment of her own health. because she's scared for dorothy's#anyway those were my two cents#the golden girls#dorothy zbornak#rose nylund#blanche devereaux

I've seen a heck of a lot of strangers' blogs today, everyone boppin' away at each other, and, you know... the action of popping open complete strangers' blogs, seeing just that tiniest snapshot of another person's existence, knowing there's a whole-ass human being on the other side...
here we all are, peeking into ten, fifty, a hundred, sometimes yet more stranger's lives, gifting them a tiny little bit of joy, for no reason other than because we can.
each person who's booped a stranger today--you've made a difference in someone else's life, however tiny. perhaps they live halfway across the world from you. they might be your age, or decades older, or much, much younger. they might be from a completely different culture--hell, there's a good chance you don't even have the same first language! there is no reason why you should ever have crossed paths... but here you are, each on one end of the glowing screen, and you've done it. you've reached out and said hey! I see you! <3
isn't that fucking amazing? isn't it insane, how as human beings, our instinct is to reach out and say hello, hi there! can I make you laugh? can I help you out? can I be kind to you? isn't it insane that we've built this whole online world that can cross thousands of miles--yes, often a cruel online world, and yet... today, people who never, by all rights of space and time, should have ever crossed paths, have done so. and they have done it with kindness.

nothing could have prepared me for the emotion that happened inside me when I heard odo speak for the first time and couldn't figure out why his voice sounded so familiar, so I did a quick google and then went 'EVIL COMPUTER DAD BOSS MAN????' There are so many different ways the paradox could have affected them depending on which route you took and how you interpret it like!! Aside from the obvious guilt and PTSD how does it affect their mental health? Their relationship with each other? With the crew? Their relationship to the mission?
What if the captain quit on the spot?? Why don't i see anyone suggesting that?? Imagine how fucking stunned Mark would be. He was probably thinking "time for a new beginning!" because the captain gave him hope so imagine if the captain decided "this is the end for me" out of nowhere!! Hello!!!!!

so. the apartment truly did have a superfluous sink right in the middle of the shower. and there was no place for a bed other than right in front of a large window facing a busy street. and the balcony was nice, but you could have roasted a whole pig in it and it's only a moderately warm spring day.
in a surprise twist the real estate agent also had arranged to show an apartment in the neighboring building right after. (the person who had arranged it and the other person who meant to come see the first place didn't show up.) and it was a smaller but much, much cheaper, with a sensible layout. sixth floor. windows in the kitchen and the bathroom too. wonderfully cool, because the windows face northeast and southeast (corner apartment).
also. for some reason. rent includes four times faster internet than what you usually get to pay for if a building has made its own collective deal. gamer apartment????
