This wouldn't be a credible Stoner site if there weren't at least a few words about Kyuss, would it ;) When I discovered them in 1996, it actually took me a while to finally "get" them. They were already on the verge of splitting into Gamma Ray / Queens Of The Stone Age and Slo Burn, which were nonetheless legendary, though I always wished for a bit more material from Slo Burn in particular. Shortly after, John Garcia formed Unida and then Hermano … Here are two rare scans from late 90s Visions Magazine and Rock Hard with an interesting side note on Scott Reeder being sound guy for Slo Burn.

RED AIM were among the very first bands in Germany who played Stonerrock in the mid 90s, and also one of the very first groups worldwide to incorporate oriental influences and Sitar into their heavy "desert sound". I just uploaded their first two EPs "Sinai Jam" (1996) and "Orange" (1998) on my Youtube-channel. Enjoy!
