May 25, 1977 . ended up spending a lot of time with Maureen, including staying at her and Isaac's flat a few odd nites. She is the only person I've met in a real long time that didn't irritate me even once. Not one thing she did ever bothered me. Anyway, on Monday afternoon she took me out to Friar Park to shoot the doorknobs. We picked up her kids and spent a couple of hours wandering around the gardens. What an incredible place that is. They've got all these caves that maze under the gardens. I took pictures of her and the kids. I hope they turn out nice cause I'd like to send her a couple. Afterwards, we went back to the flat and Fabio was there. We all just played around til the wee bours, taking snaps and trying to make a mold of an ashtray for me to give Klaus. It didn't work out but we had fun.
Tivo years later I was back in London for the book, and even though I'd barely spoken to Maureen since Fabio died...
Winkfield 3:15am Fri. 13 Apr 78… ended up going to Henley and then coming back here to visit Maureen. Had a nice afternoon and it ended up with her wanting my # of which I didnt know where I would be staying so she invited me to stay here. I have the flat that's separate from the house and am being treated great by all. She put me up for three weeks at her beautiful country home. It was much quieter than the previous visit when after the day's work everyone would meet at Mo's Mayfair flat for drinks. Then it would be out to dinner and off to the infamous private club Tramp, where one time I suddenly looked up and realized, "oh, that's Pete Townsend who just sat down at our table for a drink and a chat." At Winkfield it was family time, and at one point even Ringo showed up to stay for a while. Friday 20 April 79 ..went to an art store and went crazy on stuff for me and stuff for the kids and Ringo and Maureen... Went home excited to give the gifts, which all enjoyed and really got into. Was like an art school at the house and made me feel really good. Then the night turned into an all-nighter with watching videos and talking to Maureen. Seems I had an unusually large amount of time to spend with Maureen, but I'm certainly not complaining for that.
Maureen had a huge heart and was fiercely loyal. She was quick to tell me that she hated the Starart cover. Even though it was Klaus borrowing from his own design of the Beatles Revolver cover, Maureen felt we were trying to profit off the Beatles fame. She was no longer a Beatle wife but she still had their backs. How could I not love and respect her?

This week I'm starting training for fashion week (there might be something special involved 😇), producing a live event, MD'ing, meeting with a respected music manager, and recording 🎻 where Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Madonna, Herbie Hancock, Esperanza Spalding, Bob Dylan, and the cast of Hamilton have recorded. It's even more lovely that recording will be with a friend I've collaborated with for ~10 years. 🥰
Feeling thankful for the "lucky" breaks 🙏🏼 for work, and to be able-bodied etc. to work all this time 🏃🏻‍♀️ I'm just, like, confused how we all did this prior to the pandemonium?! Reflection time later, I guess, along with all the chores. 🤷🏻‍♀️

NOTE: Maureen passed away on this day (30 Dec. 1994). I have a great deal of love for her, so this is a little tribute. May she rest in peace.
“Deborah wanted to take pictures of the famous house so Maureen rang up George [Harrison] and he let them in.”

‘If you want to talk to God, go into a church and find a quiet place. If you want to see God, text him whilst driving!’
Fashionista: Susan Gregory-Poke looking fabulous for her 70th birthday party last Saturday. Any what else would you do for your 70th but dress up in 1970s gear!
A great night was spent celebrating Susan Jiggery-Pokery’s 70th birthday. Guests arrived looking like they had time warped from the 70’s with some remarkable outfits. Susan looked glamorous and amazing! (See Fashionista photo).
Happy birthday to lovely Loretta Coppin nee Shepherd today. It seems like yesterday that she was just a pretty little brunette from the Bay, off to Moruya High School!
Sad news from Moruya last week with the passing of Ronnie Chesher. Ronnie was well known in the shire and will be missed by everyone who knew him. Vale Ronnie.
Miss Cobargo 1990 Deborah Morrish is looking forward to her birthday next Wednesday. Have a great day Deb!
More sad news with the passing of Jeff Fleming from Mogo. Jeff and Elizabeth are also well known in the local area. Vale Jeff.
Still lots of whales about! Just ask Anne Mikelat who heads out when not working at the Mariners to “research” their current location.
Wholehearted Foods had a great opening day in Hughes Street. Hopefully, a local company going to give the ‘big boys’ a run for their money! Good luck folks!
I had reason to contact a young girl this week who sent me an item twice. When I called her to tell her I would return the second package as I had only paid for one, she became quite emotional and thanked me over and over again for my honesty. That was nice but isn’t it a shame that we have to be thanked for being honest?!
Happy first wedding anniversary to Nicolle and John Meyer from Broulee. Boy, that time sped by, didn’t it? Is the honeymoon period over? I don’t think so! Last seen down on their hands and knees gardening together … awwwww!
There’s a free worm farming workshop on Friday, November 2, between 9:30am–11:30am at the Botanic Gardens, Princes Highway, Batemans Bay.
After the success of last year’s workshops, Council will again partner with South Coast Colleges (Adult Education) and hold two free workshops where you will learn how to turn your kitchen scraps into rich fertiliser using a worm farm. Worm farming saves landfill space, reduces what you end up placing in your red-lid bin, and rewards you with the spoils of your efforts.
On completion, each household will receive a voucher to collect one free worm farm!

hi! long time no speak. Do you have the Klaus ass quote? the one thats like "I see an inch of skin" and talking about how much he loves tush?
how you're well!
sorry for the long wait!! i saw i was tagged by @eppysboys in their response and it reminded me you had sent me the same thing.
“What can I say? I love tushe. Now, please don't ask me why. I get excited if you show me one square inch of skin, so this is just about as much as I can handle.”
He said it in explanation for why he drew this for Deborah Chesher’s Starart project in 1978 (published in 1979):
