Hate to love you

“Hey princess,” Gavin calls out as I pass his desk to get to mine.

“Ugh mornin’ asshole,” I reply grumpily.

I sit myself down at my desk and see a cup of coffee with a sticky note attached.

Thought I’d bring you a coffee to thank you for not killing me yet.

I look over at Gavin who is smirking at me, I sigh and flip him off as I throw the sticky note away and sip my coffee.

“Just because I’m drinking this doesn’t mean I like you anymore,” I spit as I turn to my desk to do my work.

I feel at tap on my shoulder, causing me to spin around and be met with the face of Captain Fowler.

“Come with me Detective, you too Reed,” Fowler announces as he points a finger at Gavin.

I internally sigh, and put my coffee down and follow Fowler.

“Yes Captain?” I ask sweetly, giving him a soft smile.

“Chris Miller has been moved to another precinct, meaning, you miss Richards are being paired with Reed here to replace Miller,” Captain Fowler explains.

My face loses all colour as I turn to Gavin who is snickering his ass off.

“Reed.”

Gavin shuts up and I groan softly before accepting my fate.

“Of course Captain, are there any new cases for us?” I ask.

Captain Fowler gives me and Gavin are new case and I walk back to my desk quickly, sculling my now cold coffee.

“Lets go Reed,” I grumble as I walk to my car.

“Ok princess,” Gavin teases.

I groan and unlock my car, getting into the drivers seat, while Gavin gets into the passenger seat. Gavin takes control of the radio while I drive us to the Eden Club.

“Here we are,” I mumble as I get out of the car quickly.

I don’t think I could last another minute in the car with that asshole.

I feel Gavin walk up behind me, placing a hand on the small of my back as we enter the sex club.

“Move your hand Gavin,” I threaten.

Gavin moves his hand away quickly.

“I’m just saying, I’m kinda getting into the mood even if it’s a murder scene,” Gavin whispers into my ear.

“UGH THATS FUCKING DISGUSTING GAVIN!” I scream as I jump away from the man.

My eyes drift down Gavin and stop at his crotch, nothing out of the ordin- never mind. My eyes shoot back up to eye level, my face going bright red as I quickly walk to the crime scene and Ben.

I shake the thought of what I just saw out of my head and focus, hearing Gavin behind me.

“Don’t you dare,” I warn.

Gavin backs away slightly but he is still behind me.

Ben explains what has happened to me as Gavin looks around and starts to try to solve the crime. I walk over to Gavin and look at the man who is dead in the bed with an Android lying on the ground, dead as well. I look at the bruising on his neck and deduce that he was strangled rather than a heart attack like presumed.

“He was choked,” I note.

Gavin turns to me and smirks.

“He’s a kinky fucker then,” Gavin says.

“Now is not the time for jokes or puns,” I reply sternly.

Gavin backs away playfully and goes back to looking at evidence.

I look away and smile slightly, no one can make me smile naturally, especially not Gavin.

“Are you smiling?” Gavin asks me. “That’s a new one.”

“Fuck off asshole.”

I do one final sweep of the evidence and dead bodies before Hank and Connor wander in.

“Ahah, look what the cat dragged in, Lieutenant Anderson and his plastic pet, what are you two doing here?” Gavin announces.

“We have been assigned to all Android homicide cases, why are you here Detective Reed?” Connor replies.

“Ok smartass,” Gavin says as he charges the Android but I grab him to stop him.

“Fucks sake Gavin I don’t need to fill out witness forms to Android damage,” I say pushing Gavin slightly.

Gavin grunts and starts to walk out of the room.

“Let’s go, it’s starting to stink of metal and booze in here,” Gavin says shoving Connor in the shoulder with his own.

“Sorry gentlemen,” I say softly as I follow Gavin.

“You’re a dick Gavin,” I state as Gavin gets into my car quickly.

“Take me to the bar,” Gavin orders.

“It’s 11am,” I say starting to drive back to the precinct.

I can see Gavin try to think of a threat but in the end he slumps in the passenger seat, making me feel bad.

“Ugh, I’ll take you to drinks tonight, as long as you stop calling me princess,” I give in.

“Okay princess,” Gavin teases.

“gAVIN!!” I shout playfully, with a laugh.

We enter the bar, the smell of alcohol hitting me in the face immediately.

Gavin orders a whiskey as soon as possible and I order a beer, sitting next to Gavin at the bar, making small conversation.

After a few drinks

Gavin is inching closer to kiss me, which at this point I wouldn’t mind. Slowly Gavin’s lips connect with mine, I can taste the alcohol lingering on his lips as I return the kiss, my arms wrapping around his neck and gripping his hair, causing him to softly moan.

Falling for the dick is the last thing I’d think I’d ever do.

Gavin stand up with me and backs away, as he drags me to my house, considering I live around the corner. I unlock the door, Gavin kissing my neck, pressed right against my back so I can feel everything.

“Didn’t think I’d ever fall for you, but here we are,” I say as Gavin kisses me down onto the couch after we get inside.

Gavin mumbles against my lips something and I smile, letting myself go as the rest of the night goes as well as one can plan when you’re drunk and hooking up with your co-worker who you usually hate.

"You need to tell me where she is..." I think lots of people seem to forget that Gavin is in fact a detective, meaning he has to do interrogations, speak in a soft voice and gain a suspects trust.
