What car do you think is Mato? Since you know about cars, I thought I’d ask your opinion

Hi and thank you for the ask!

So I could have sworn I read somewhere that Mato was supposed to be based on a Rolls-Royce from the 1950s, but now I can't find that on the Pixar wiki, the Cars wiki, or anywhere else. Whether that's canon or not, I can see the resemblance.

Here's Mato:

We know that she is Mater's older sister, and that Mater himself is based on the 1955-1957 Chevrolet Task Force tow truck. It makes sense that Mato would be based on an earlier model than her younger brother. This Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith is from 1952:

Note the similarities to Mato in the overall body shape, fenders, and headlights. I also see a resemblance in the early-1950s Daimlers, like this 1951 DB18:

Daimler built, and Rolls-Royce still builds, expensive luxury cars, so these models also make thematic sense for the character of a wealthy socialite. Of course, Mato being possibly based on a high-end British car while Mater is based on an American work vehicle raises some questions about their family. Are they related to British aristocracy? Is most of the family more like Mato than Mater? How do families work in the carsverse, anyway? Oh, well, those are questions for another post.

I'm curious to hear others' thoughts on this. Do you think Mato is based on a different model?

روف گاردن به بامی گفته می شود که بر روی سطح آن گیاهان رشد می‌کنند. تنوع گیاهی روف گاردن می‌تواند از بام پوشیده از چمن مصنوعی تا باغ باشد که با گیاهان مورد استفاده در طراحی منظر پوشیده شده‌ است. سبزپوش کردن بام یا روف گاردن نیازمند گیاهانی است که به دقت انتخاب شده‌اند تا در برابر محیط خشن و بی‌روح محیط پشت بام در شرایط کم بی آبی عوامل اقلیمی، یخ زدگی نسیم دریا و خشکی و غیره مقاومت کند. ژئوممبران نوع گیاهان انتخابی روف گاردن بسته به نوع آب و هوا و شرایط اقلیمی مختلف متفاوت است. روف گاردن اوج تلفیق اجرا با محیط است. جزئیات اجرایی روف گاردن تفاوت چندانی با بامهای معمول نداشته و شامل عایق رطوبتی حرارتی پوشش ضد آب ماسه و درز پوش می‌باشند و در کنار آن شامل مصالح و عناصری هستند که بتوانند عمل نگهداری زهکشی رطوبت و اسباب نگهداری گیاهان (مطابق استاندارد) را در ساختمان‌سازی فراهم آورند. امروزه احداث روف گاردن با مصالح به روز ژئوسینتتیک انجام می شود که علاوه بر کیفیت و ماندگاری بسیار بالا از لحاظ قیمتی نیز مقرون به صرفه تر است.

مزایای احداث روف گاردن :

تأمین فضایی سازگار و مطبوع برای کاربران ساختمان

بهبود مناظر اطراف ساختمان با فراهم کردن یک فضای سبز زیبا

ایجاد محیطی سبز، زیبا ونیمه عمومی (مشاعی) برای ساکنین ساختمان و بالا بردن کیفیت زندگی

ایجاد منظر شهری سبز و کاهش آلودگی

کاهش بار گرمایش (با افزودن توده و لایه عایق حرارتی) و سرمایش بنا (از طریق سرمایش تبخیری)

کاهش اثرات گرمایش و تغییرات آب و هوایی شهری

افزایش محدوده زندگی

کاهش سیلاب

تصفیه هوا و کاهش CO2 هوا

کاهش و تعدیل شدت صداهایی که تا db18 وارد ساختمان می‌شود و به میزان db3 یا بیشتر خارج می‌شود.

بهبود مناظر اطراف ساختمان با فراهم کردن یک فضای سبز زیبا.

بالا بردن طول عمر غشای بام (دو یا سه بار بیشتر) با محافظت از آن در برابر اشعات UV مضر و صدمات آب و هوایی.

افزایش ارزش ملک

کاهش هزینه نگهداری از سقف - کشت روی بام به شکل گسترده، نوعی پوشش محافظ را تداعی می‌کند، سطح کاشته شده

خود محافظت و نگهداری می‌شود و به عبارت دیگر، نگهداری از بام به حداقل می‌رسد.

انواع روف گاردن :

روف گاردن را بر اساس سیستم اجرایی به چند دسته اصلی تقسیم می کنند :

۱-سیستم گسترده (extensive)

برای سیستم گسترده از واژه گرین روف ( Green Roof ) یا بام سبز استفاده می شود. این سیستم به نام مقطع کم ارتفاع یا اجرا با ضخامت کم نیز شناخته می شود. این نوع بام فقط شامل یک یا دو نوع گیاه و محیط کاشت کم عمق می باشد. معمولاً این سیستم برای زمانی که حداقل بار وزن مدنظر باشد به کار گرفته می شود، به طوری که فقط پرسنل نگهداری و تعمیر به این نوع بام دسترسی دارند. این نوع بام مثل چمنهای نروژی، بر روی بامهای مسطح و شیبدار احداث می شود. در این سیستم معمولاً گیاهان به عمق ۴۰ تا ۱۰۰ میلی متر استفاده می شوند. حدود بار نهایی بام تقریباً بین ۵۰ تا ۱۰۰ کیلوگرم بر مترمربع در حالت اشباع می باشند. در مورد بام های شیبدار در اغلب مکان ها ۱۰ تا ۲۰ درصد شیب توصیه می شود. در شیب حداکثر ۳۰ درصد نیاز به استفاده از زه وار و ابزارهای ضد فرسایش وجود دارد.

۲-سیستم متمرکز (intensive)

برای سیستم متمرکز از واژه روف گاردن ( Roof Garden ) یا باغ بام استفاده می شود. این سیستم به نام مقطع عمیق یا باغ بام نیز شناخته می شود. این نوع روف گاردن شامل انواع مختلفی از گیاهان می باشد و مشابه یک پارک طراحی می شود. برخی از روف گاردن ها دارای درختان بزرگ و آبنماهایی می باشند که این موضوع خود احتیاج به تقویت اساسی سازه دارد. این سیستم اغلب نیازهای سازه ای جدیدی را برای بام الزامی می کند، به ویژه برای روف گاردن هایی که دسترسی عمومی نیز داشته باشد.

۳-سیستم مدولار یا جعبه گیاه (planter box)

در این سیستم گیاه و محیط کاشت آن در جعبه های مخصوصی که تمام یا بیشتر روف گاردن را می پوشاند، نگهداری می شود. در سیستم غیر مدولار محیط کاشت یک لایه پیوسته بر روی روف گاردن می باشد. در سیستم مدولار این محیط ناپیوسته هست. این مدل از بام سبز برای پروژه های مسکونی و ساختمان های متعارف مناسب بوده و در حال حاضر در شهرهای مشهد و تهران بیشترین طرفدار را دارد.

۴-سیستم ترکیبی (synthetic)

این نوع بام ترکیبی از دو سیستم گسترده و متمرکز است و دارای فواید دو بام ذکر شده‌است، اما دارای ظرفیت بار بیشتری است. در عین حال سبز شدن در داخل پانل‌های گسترده سبک وزنی صورت می‌گیر��.
