genuinely insane to me that in a week of the census being open ive gotten 1k+ responses. nearly more responses than ive gotten the past 3 years cumulatively… it is literally so much data im in heaven

is anyone else still really really Weird about the hyperfixations they picked up in 2020 quarantine?

#I have a lovely 20 gallon tank in my room #it has kuhli loaches and shrimp and otocinclus #a clown poach I never see named Marvin #and two peacock gudgeons #one of which I got recently #one that I should have quarantined but didn’t because I’m lazy and didn’t think I’d need to #because I’ve never had issues with not quarantining fish before #but I got this fish from work and we’ve been dealing with ich #and I realized the day after I got her that the tank she came from had mollys that were infected 🙃#a couple days later she has it too #for those that don’t know #ich is a VERY contagious parasite in fish #and it will eventually kill your fish if left untreated #I’ve never dealt with it before so I’m stressed tf out and just spent almost the last of my money for a top recommended medication #to tray and treat it #I could have gotten a cheaper brand but #I don’t want to risk killing any of my more sensitive fish and my shrimp because I will cry if that happens #I could treat it by turning up the temperature in my tank to like 86 degrees f #but that could ALSO potentially kill my fish/shrimp #so expensive medication was the best option #I’ve been thinking about just taking this tank down tbh #I feel like there’s always something going wrong with it from this to filters breaking to a snail infestation #but I’m not giving up yet #unless something dies #then I’ll be giving up on it 🥲#tag rant #personal #fish keeping #I meant clown loach* not poach

and of course my car had to get a flat, requiring me to spend an hour at the mechanic's huddled as far away from everyone else in the waiting area as possible and trying not to cough so that I could be told they wouldn't be able to get me a new tire until monday.

#a butterfly obsesses #definitely did not want to go out and potentially spread the plague but I didn't really have a choice #I'm expected back into work on monday so I have to at least get the temporary spare on #work counts 'quarantine' as five days after you start showing symptoms #so the first two days of 'quarantine' I was still working #and yesterday was my day off #so I'm isolating for TWO days post-diagnosis

guess who got covid on Christmas

#been quarantined in my room all day #I’ve been awake for less than two hours in total everything just feels awful #I keep trying to get up and then I feel all sleepy tired. fog is real.#muscle aches head ache chills sore throat. no coughing though thank goodness. I would be so miserable if I was coughing #Santa gave me a present last night. it was COVID-19.

i'm sick today, which means i need to start taking care of myself again instead of hoping for the best. i'm awake early, i had breakfast, and i got some sunlight through my window and fresh air through it too, so i hope by tomorrow i might be able to work again.

my body: hey you know how youve been struggling a lot with depression lately? how abt a disease that forces you to isolate yourself from everyone and also plays right into your eating issues! does that help? :)
