Live at the Palladium
Landslide Records
A very special night this turned out to be. Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Damon Fowler and his band tore it up, threw it down, stomped on it, and on occasion smoothed it over at their show in St. Petersburgh, Florida this past July. Live at the Palladium presents ten of the concert’s songs in a perfect sequence and clear sound.…

Fandoms + Ships (for Prompt Purposes)
As I like to reblog prompts a lot but have the annoying little habit of jumping ship on a fandom fast than a pirate invasion, I decided it is finally time I make an official list, which will be constantly updated as I develop new interests! If there’s a ship you want to request but it isn’t here, just ask and I’ll let you know where I stand with it!

Men's singles division - heels

Unranked: Dante Chen, Guru Raaj, Hank Walker, Javier Bernal
It's been sixteen months since WWE started dismantling Triple H's vision of NXT, and about five months since Vince McMahon retired and left Triple H in charge of creative. It's telling that almost no one on the roster during the Wednesday Night Wars is still here. I suspect Vince's "up or out" mentality is still in effect, and NXT won't see another long-term mainstay like Johnny Gargano or the Undisputed Era.
On the other hand, I think Solo Sikoa is the only NXT 2.0 performer who has been called up to the main roster. At that rate, it might take a few years to completely turn over the roster again. When Vince was in charge I would have expected Breakker, Jones, and Wagner to get called up by April 2023 whether they were ready or not. As it is, we'll have to wait and see how long Triple H wants everybody to spend in developmental.
Men's tag team division - babyfaces
Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods (NXT men's tag team champions)
Josh Briggs & Brooks Jensen
Edris Enofe & Malik Blade
Brutus Creed & Julius Creed
Andre Chase & Duke Hudson
Men's tag team division - heels
Pretty Deadly - Elton Prince & Kit Wilson
Tony D'Angelo & Channing Lorenzo
The Dyad (Jagger Reid and Rip Fowler, formerly James Drake and Zack Gibson) and Indus Sher (Veer Mahan and Sanga, formerly Rinku and Saurav) are featured on TV but haven't wrestled in the past month. I'm surprised they haven't done anything with Gallus (Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey, and Wolfgang), who are apparently still employed but you'd never know it from watching the product.
Women's singles division - babyfaces
Roxanne Perez (NXT women's champion)
Alba Fyre
Wendy Choo
Indi Hartwell
Nikkita Lyons
Fallon Henley
Thea Hail
Women's singles division - heels
Cora Jade
Isla Dawn
Zoey Stark
Elektra Lopez
Kiana James
Unranked: Amari Miller, Lyra Valkyria, Sol Ruca
NXT shot itself in the foot by building the entire women's division around "Mandy Rose is super hot" for 400+ days, and then abruptly releasing her for being too super hot. Having her put over Perez is all well and good, but she could have spent the next year or so giving the rub to several other women.
If you don't want your talent posting nude photos on the internet, you need to pay them enough to make it worth their while. And if you don't want to pay them enough, it makes no sense to push them so strongly. So now Mandy's making a shitload of money and living her best life, and all I can say about NXT's women's roster is "Roxanne and a bunch of nobodies who couldn't beat Mandy."
Women's tag team division - babyfaces
Kayden Carter & Katana Chance (NXT women's tag team champions)
Ivy Nile & Tatum Paxley
Women's tag team division - heels
Toxic Attraction - Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne
NXT can still only scrape together three women's tag teams, which is still better than Raw and Smackdown put together, which is kind of sad.
No TV or PPV matches in over 30 days: Jagger Reid, Lash Legend, Oro Mensah, Rip Fowler, Trick Williams, Valentina Feroz
No TV, PPV, or streaming matches in over 30 days: Ava Raine, Boa, Cameron Grimes, Ilja Dragunov, Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Meiko Satomura, Nathan Frazer, Quincy Elliott, Roderick Strong, Sanga, Sarray, Tyler Bate, Veer Mahan, Wolfgang
Boa has been on the NXT roster since like 2017, and the only reason I know that is because I keep track of things like that for stuff like this. I don't want anybody to lose their job but I am genuinely perplexed how he survived all the releases over the past three years.
Not listed on NXT roster: Aleah James, Blair Davenport, Noam Dar, Stevie Turner
In August, WWE shut down NXT UK and released much of the roster. Everyone else got reassigned to Original Flavor NXT...except these four, for some reason. WWE.com still lists them as "current superstars" but not for any particular show. I can only guess that several of them are awaiting a rebranding like Aoife Valkyrie/Lyra Valkyria and Oliver Carter/Oro Mensah. But Davenport already has a WWE-owned name, and I haven't heard of her being injured, so I don't know what's up with her.
Inactive
Tiffany Stratton (head - unspecified injury)
Yulisa Leon (right knee - unspecified ligament tear)
I wouldn't be surprised if there are more people sidelined on the NXT roster, but reliable information has gotten harder to find as the brand has become less relevant.

◜ &. › 𝙱𝙰𝙲𝙺𝙶𝚁𝙾𝚄𝙽𝙳 。
the borowsky name is one with prestige , both athletically and academically . tatiana borowsky , his mother , is the daughter of british peerage and a world renowned professor at the university of oxford , notably the youngest female professor at the time of her hiring . while arthur borowsky , his father , is an undefeated former professional boxer regarded as one of the best heavyweight boxer's of all time . the pair met during a high profile fight in london in which tatiana's close friend was a ring girl , this friend inevitably introduced tatiana and arthur and the two began a relationship not too long after . splitting their time between england and russia .
in '91 when they welcomed their first son , river ( born jordin ) , his father was in training camp in st. petersburg and so the first several months of his life were spent in russia . after that , time was split between both countries , up until it was time to enroll him into school -- a tough decision needed to be made : what country would become the borowsky family's homebase ? it was a point of contension between his parents both wanting to raise their son in their respective countries ... in the end tatiana won the tug of war and river was enrolled in a private academy in oxford , england .
from a young age , it was clear river was athletically inclined . a ball of energy , that never seemed to run out of gas . his parents giving him his first boxing gloves and mini punching bag at three where he'd train in the home gym alongside his dad . at four he was gifted a mini - racket and ball , after attending wimbeledon with his mother that year . notably he'd began to neglect the punching bag entirely , the racket and ball becoming his most beloved toy . it was at five he was sent to a tennis camp in london , overseen by tennis legend billie jean king . he worked closely with her for the next six years , even traveling oversea's to the united states with her to learn from his idol pete sampras . river has credited king for shaping his mind as a human being , as well as a professional . in 2005 he dominated the u14 circut in the eta junior tour , ending that year at number 1 . his dominance continued in the u16 circut , ending his juniors career with a win - loss record of 40 - 11 ( in singles ) and 23 - 6 ( in doubles ) .
as a pro it became clear , he harbored the same winning mentality his father did perhaps even going as far as obsessing over winning . opponents have even claimed while they are ambitious , river takes ambition and turns into it's fiery obsession . his conduct on the court summerized in one word by many -- unsportsmanlike : he argues with officials , has broken just under 70 rackets in fits of rage , distracts opponents and misuses bathroom breaks for his gain . in 2020 , he was disqualified from the us open after hitting a ball not in play out of anger , which subsequently hit a line judge in the throat . it was a tough pill for river to swallow , being the number 1 seed at that point but the public saw a certain level of grace from the tennis player they didn't normally get .
off the court , his life is seemingly just as problematic . between a slew of failed relationships and runs in with the law , even when he's not ruling the court his name continues as a mainstay in the tabloids . while it's not ideal for the russian born athlete , it's something he's come to terms with and even has learned to find the fun in -- displaying a more fun side of himself throughout press conferences and interviews . his frequent stays in cities like new york and los angeles over the last decade have definitely catapulted the level of eyes frequently on him . this past year has been one that has truly trumped all the rest , though . learning along with the rest of the world he'd been the target of a sextortion plot earlier in 2023 . an up and coming model was interviewed and claimed she was approached and offered just half a million dollars to trick river into sleeping with her and to record it . naturally disgusted by the admittance , river's team began to pursue the woman until she gave up the person behind the plot , once that information was offered in a court hearing the suit began . the lawsuit was halted in august after river's visa was revoked for a dui he obtained in the state of new york just a day after winning the men's singles in the us open . with his coaching team being based in california , though , it was only inevitable he'd be reissued his visa sooner or later .
after his deportation , he returned to london , where he claims he'd done alot of soul searching -- taking anger management classes as well as court recommended aa meetings . in recent weeks his visa has been reissued and he is now back in los angeles where he is gearing up for his 2024 season debut at the australian open .
◜ &. › 𝙷𝙴𝙰𝙳𝙲𝙰𝙽𝙾𝙽𝚂 。
got the nickname ' the joker ' after a match early in his career where video came out of him taunting his opponent in between sets wide smile as he mouthed " why so serious ? " . it was a tense match and river knew he could easily get into the guys head . he's embraced the nickname and plays into it more often than not while on the court , known to impersonate and taunt opponents ( he'll always claim it's all in jest ) .
has been engaged 3 times : once in 2013 which ended because he'd cheated multiple times and when asked his response was a simple " took you long enough to ask " , the second engagement was in 2017 and third was in 2019 both of which ended due to him getting a glimpse at the wedding dresses both women had chosen and he thought they were ugly , claiming " if that's the best you can do on the biggest day of your life ... i don't wanna see 40 years from now " .
big believer in honesty but tends to lie by omission ? if you don't ask him a straight forward question he feels he doesn't owe you a straight forward answer .
more will be added later .

"From a small town" oh yeah cause towns in the US are totally going around lynching atheists for being atheist. That's a thing that happens. Completely. Not like you're trying to pass off other people's experiences as your own or anything
Oh boy shall I tell you stories about atheists who were ostracized or run out of their small towns?
Shall I tell you about Damon Fowler and Jessica Ahlquist?
Oppression doesn't begin and end with lynching you absolute tool.

When most of the passengers are taken hostage by dangerous rebels, the only person Torrance can count on for help is Louis Gaspare (Mike Colter), an accused murderer who was being transported by the FBI. In order to rescue the passengers, Torrance will need Gaspare’s help, and will learn there’s more to Gaspare than meets the eye.

Aspiring club promoters and best buds Damon (Tosin Cole) and Kevin (Jacob Latimore) are barely keeping things together. Out of money, down on their luck and about to lose the roofs over their heads—and freshly fired from their low-lift jobs as house cleaners—the pair needs a huge windfall to make their problems go away.
In a ‘what the hell?’ move, they decide to host the party of the year at an exclusive mansion, the site of their last cleaning job, which just happens to belong to none other than LeBron James. No permission? No problem. What could go wrong?
The Devil Conspiracy
The Devil Conspiracy, the new movie from Nathan Frankowski, is out today.
A powerful biotech company has breakthrough technology allowing them to clone history’s most influential people with just a few fragments of DNA. Behind this company is a cabal of Satanists that steals the shroud of Christ putting them in possession of Jesus’ DNA. The clone will serve as the ultimate offering to the devil. Archangel Michael comes to earth and will stop at nothing to end the devil’s conspiracy.
The Price We Pay

But good vibes and high hopes are cut short when, shortly after their arrival to paradise, Lex accidentally drops her friend’s (Aparna Nancherla) baby in front of all their friends. Paradise becomes purgatory for our couple as recriminations, passive-aggression and old wounds begin to permeate the island reunion and throw Mani and Lex’s future into deep uncertainty.

How Does Bruce Wheeler Recreate BluesFest Lineup Each Summer?
It almost sounds like a song once all the pieces are put together.
At least that’s how co-founder Bruce Wheeler feels while placing each performer in their perfect timeslot for the annual Wheeling Heritage Music BluesFest that consumes Heritage Port for three days each August.
This year’s concert is scheduled for Aug. 12-14, and recording artists like Ruthie Foster, Mike Zito, and Victor Wainright all are scheduled for main stage performances.
“When it’s time to do our lineup, the first thing I do is look at what we had the previous year and what I feel would work that year. I ask myself, ‘How can I change it up enough but also keep some of that familiarity so the fans get to hear their favorites again,” Wheeler explained. “It just evolves. That’s the best way I can describe it. That question is sort of like asking a songwriter comes up with a song. In most cases, it just happens.
“I program the artists I like and sounds interesting to me, and it just so happens it’s what other people like, too,” he said. “Booking the big names is easy, but it’s finding the up-and-comers that I really enjoy,” he said. “My wife and I made the trip to Memphis this year for that exact reason and it’s great every time we go there.”
This year’s three-day event will feature 18 total acts on the main stage, five bands on the second stage, and an after jam show each evening at the McLure House Bar & Grill.
“I’m excited because of the new performers on the schedule, plus I included some of my old favorites, too,” Wheeler said. “And, based on the lineups for each day, we’ll have some great jams that take place because of the people who will be on stage and the relationships that they have.
“As far as coming up with the lineup, other than the first year I believe I’ve gone about it the same way,” he said. “That first year I had help with the headliners, but the rest of it was up to me to get both local and regional acts on the stage to fill out the lineup. From there, it turned into a lineup that includes all national touring acts and the people seem to love it.”
Wainright and his band represent just one of 18 acts that will hit the stage this year.
Lineup 2022
Friday, August 12: Katie Henry Band, Curtis Salgaldo, Damon Fowler, and Ruthie Foster.
Saturday, August 13: Billy the Kid & the Regulators, Kat Riggins, The Nighthawks 50th Anniversary, Brandon Santini Band, King Solomon Hicks, Albert Castiglia, Mike Zito, and Blood Bros Jam.
Sunday, August 14: Micah Kesselring, Pat Harrington & Owen Eichensehr, Gracie Curran & the High Falutin' Band, Popa Chubby, JP Soars and the Red Hots, Joe Louis Walker, and Victor Wainright & the Train.
Second Stage: Catch Blues Band, Lil' Red & the Rooster, Patrick McLaughlin, Pierce Dipner, and the Sarah Hays Band.
The Catch Blues Band has been playing in the Wheeling area for more than a decade.
About 50-50
Wheeler thinks there may have been more people on the outside than on the inside during the first-ever BluesFest in downtown Wheeling.
The year was 2001 and Heritage Port was brand-spanking new. A schedule for live events had yet to be created, but Wheeler believed he had answers. He approached the Wheeling National Heritage Area Corp., known now as Wheeling Heritage, with ideas for three shows and, ultimately, he moved forward with BluesFest with the federal organization’s support.
And next to no one showed up that very first year, but the audience grew over the years and now, Wheeler believes, it’s just as popular locally as it has been regionally.
“Over the past few years, we have trended more toward local when it comes to those in attendance,” he revealed. “These days I’d be willing to bet the crowd is close to 50-50, and it’s taken all those years to get there because the blues wasn’t a big genre of music when we first got started a little more than 20 years ago.
“Country has always been king here in the Wheeling area,” Wheeler said. “But I believe it’s been word-of-mouth ever since, and it took a while. I used to go to Kroger and people would ask me when ‘that Jazz festival’ is, and I would offer them the correct information, but as the years passed it was more like, ‘I can’t wait for the BluesFest,’ and things like that. Well, it’s in just a couple of weeks.”
And tickets remain available.
“General admission and VIP tickets are still available online, and there just a couple of backstage VIP tickets left, too,” Wheeler revealed. “There also are the after jams at the McLure House Bar and Grill, and all of that information, along with the schedule for the second stage inside the show, are on heritagemusicfest.com.
“The canopy locations are sold out and so are all of the available rooms at the McLure House Hotel, so we are anticipating a terrific weekend for BluesFest,” he added. “Plus, we have some great food trucks coming this year, and we’ve made sure it all will taste great with a Yuengling.”
