d.p season 2 episode 4 is one of the best things i've watched in a long time. this is how violence festers, this is how abuse is passed down from one generation to another. jungseok, in his last moments, was nothing more than a mirror of the abusers from his past. jiseop goes into gp with vengeance in his heart and the memory of a warm friend in his mind—he returns as someone who has beaten a young man unconscious; a child whose only sin was daring to stand up for himself.
and poor ahwi. in a system that lives off of violence and punishes victims, his fellow soldiers lying to protect him is a kindness, isn't it? when ahwi screams at walls, just like jungseok, they understand. he's not the same anymore. when he looks like he's a million miles away, let him be. he's went through something unspeakable. later, then, when he punches his juniors and drags them out of bed at night, look away.
this is gp. this is how it goes. anything could happen here, and no one would know.
watching the first ep of season 2 of d.p and im so confused... i thought junho also ended up deserting at the end of season 1 but now hes just back doing the same job with no consequences like it never happened? Am I missing something or does this get explained as it goes on?
