you're so right about your last post. and i see it very clearly when i compare the stuff i make on here vs. on my main. the notes on this blog is much higher, but it's just likes. on my main blog the reblog/likes ratio can be up to 50/50 sometimes if i'm lucky. and that's when i'm making gifs for a band that's been on hiatus for like 4 years now 🙃 people reblog less as a whole nowadays on this app, but there's some fandoms that are worse than others unfortunatly! and it really does take away the joy of sharing content in this fandom if no one interacts beyond just hitting like. it's starting to feel a little meaningless... (i know your post were mostly about readers not interacting with fics, and i don't want to take away from that, but i see it happen for gifs/edits too and wanted to mention that)

yeah it applies to gifs too, i haven’t posted nearly as many gifs as you or creators who are exclusively gif-makers but i’ve noticed the same effect as well. my bridgerton gifs and my misc film gifs on main got more reblogs with tags than i ever expected whereas gifs for tom and spider-man are mostly empty reblogs and likes. it’s upsetting knowing that there is a huge audience in this fandom on tumblr yet very few ppl actually interact. like what’s the point of us being here if everyone is silent yet still feeling entitled to content
