Meanwhile, elsewhere in the galaxy...
Me: "Tech, I need one of Crosshair's toothpicks, please."
Tech: "Why?"
Me: "It's for science."
Crosshair: "Why are you asking him and not me?"
Me: "Because you'd say no if I asked you and I know Tech knows where they are."
Crosshair: begins to protest until Tech just hands me a toothpick
Me: "Thank you!" proceeds to open oven and check that the cake baking in there is done with the toothpick
"Wrecker, Omega, Echo, the cake's done!"
Wrecker, Omega, and Echo from a distance: "Woohoo!"
Tech, straightening his goggles: "That is not for science."
Me: "Yes, it is, I needed to ensure the chemical reactions worked."
Crosshair: "Do I get cake?"

Now that we are getting some actual Crossdad content, I've decided to redo an old favorite of mine. I love the dynamic between the two of them. And I cannot believe how much Crosshair as fallen into the Big Brother roll. I love this space family so much.
Anyway, I can totally see Crosshair spending late nights on top of the ship keeping watch, and you know Omega would find him and join.

i find it very funny how crosshair went from “hey squad we gotta get that kid back to the empire bc why the fuck not i’m feeling kinda spiteful today” to “okay honey, do you have your lunch i packed you” “don’t forget to reapply sunscreen too” in the matter of like 7 episodes

TBB show has made it canon that both Crosshair and Echo are the reason the bad batch has survived for so long.
Which is really ironic.
The snarky toothpick and who hates regs and the walking republic manual are the two most competent soldiers of the craziest commando squad. They literally cannot be more opposite.
But, ya know, opposites attract.

one thing i picked up on in the return is how crosshair is more talkative now, even more so than he was pre-order 66. just little things like acknowledging echo's statements or chatting extensively with omega. idk in the past his dialogue was more or less strictly plot relevant with a few characteristic quips here and there but his defining trait when hunter first introduces him in tcw is "crosshair isn't much of a talker" and it's just like. so healing to see him be this 10% more open yknow

Soooo…. How early do we think the Bad Batch were sent out into the war? Because it’s very sad to think about, and I’ve also seen this explored with some other clones as well (Tup and Dogma), but I also can’t erase the somewhat funny mental image of some high-ranking members of the GAR having this elite, special force team coming to help them on an impossible mission, the group succeeding, and when its time to finally meet and thank them it’s literally just some guys whose voices haven’t fully changed and haven’t even lost all the baby fat in their faces yet.

I like to think that Crosshair just has a giant collection of toothpicks, and the rest of the bad batch just finds them everywhere! How he gets them though, I have no idea… what do you think?

Crosshair needs a prosthetic hand so that he can have a toothpick compartment in the palm area. he does a specific hand/finger movement and a toothpick just pops out into his palm.
