The color palettes do more than just make each planet distinctive; a concerted effort was made to ensure that the progression of those colors would tell the same story as the script itself. “We tried as much as possible to parallel them and marry them,” said Doug Chiang. "We knew that it was going to [parallel] what was going on in [Jyn's] mind at the time... We’re designing the emotional arc as a color palette."

Orson Krennic = Wind

Celebrate Rogue One

I was inspired by the Galen Erso/Water and Bohdi Rook/Fire posts by @tc-lp to assign the element of Air to Orson Krennic, which I choose to interpret as wind.

Wind and Air cannot be contained, it is constantly moving. Unpredictable, gentle, and destructive. Individuals who carry these attributes are deeply intelligent and enthusiastic about attaining their goals, which in Krennic’s case is seen as his single-minded, manipulative and cunning focus on his rise within the empire and his fixation on the completion of the Death Star, regardless of the impact on individuals. He can only see his end result, which ultimately leads to his demise.

The Air Element is attributed to the Zodiac Sign of Gemini, which is quick-witted and curious, but can have contrasting personalities, hence Krennic’s chameleon nature. More cunning and manipulation.

In Tarot, Air is represented by the Suit of Swords, which are double-edged: a balance of intellect and power. We know which side of the sword rules Krennic.

In my mood board, I’ve added the Two of Swords. It represents a stalemate, stubbornness, weighing of options. Again, more thoughtfulness and cunning. Water is featured prominently in the background, which I am choosing to represent Krennic’s relationship with Galen Erso, who can be seen as representative of water/emotion. Note in the card, the individual has their back to the water. I feel it represents Krennic’s disregard for Jyn and Lyra Erso.

A color associated with the element of Air is…White. Hence that cape.
