What is it that sets you apart from everyone else in your industry? Really think about what makes you different, what do you offer that your competitors don’t? Okay, I admit. Even I find this tricky. Especially with my website design business. With my art business I know what sets me apart and it’s easy to convey - I create unique textured seascape artwork in a style that isn’t seen in any UK gallery (I’d even wager European gallery), I’m self taught and have a real passion for the ocean - so I know what my unique personality is there. But here? I like to think it’s not only my knowledge but also my no-nonsense approach. I’m passionate about helping other businesses succeed and I love watching small businesses grow and expand. I am a creative business owner too, so I know I can truly relate to what most small businesses are going through and their struggles. But sometimes I can’t help but think I sound like everyone else (although you won’t catch me using the word “Niche” anytime soon)… What do you think? Is it really necessary? 🤔 honestly? No. I mean, it certainly helps with the visuals if everything looks nice but is it essential? Not really. Artists for example will, over time develop a style and that style will naturally become the brand. A million seascape artists are represented by the colour blue in some way but are recognised more on their style of painting. What will matter most is your quality of work, what people remember you for - yes coca-cola is represented by the colour red but remembered and re-purchased because of the refreshing, delicious taste.
