Neither Michael or Rafael were perfect that was the point they both made mistakes and had pride issues due to personal flaws. They both loved Jane in different ways and they could both make her happy. Jane loved them both and of course made her own mistakes as a person since she is flawed as we all are all people. I’m rewatching and I’m seeing the mistakes but still loving the characters so far despite loving others more. I love how much more I’m seeing rewatching this show

i.e. would you rather your ship canonically be the first preference or have them get a second choice happily ever after

I just think it would be neat if jtv followed a storyline of Jane being a comphet lesbian struggling with her identity because of her obsession for romance, romanticization of real life, and her religious upbringing
No I am not saying Jane is a comphet lesbian, I know she’s straight, but I think it would be interesting if the show followed a different storyline

Hi everyone! I still get likes or repost from this blog and that makes me remember the show and makes me want to do a rewatch (and stop in season 3 🙃). Ahhh 🥰 cuz till this day I haven't seen another show that make me feel how I felt for Jane and Michael, the way I cried when he died... I mock myself thinking that I took it too personal hahaha, I was a mess for days but they also showed me what i want in a relationship (I mean it was the first time i see it on a show) So they hold a very special place in my heart.
I want to see their journey all over again.. but at the same time I don't wanna suffer 😂 if I ever do I'll try to act like it's the first time.
If any new "fan" of Cordueva wants to chat or talk, my inbox is always open :)
Take care.

b*ylers are so relentless. i watched a finn interview at the s4 premiere where he was specifically asked about mileven and b*ylers tried to make it about b*yler 💀 mileven have had 3 seasons of development and also will and el are practically brother/sister now, how could it make sense for mike to just suddenly go to will??? it would ruin the entire group and show dynamic and make everything so awkward
Oh, gosh. I understand what it's like to ship something unlikely to ever happen but I usually handled that misfortune with resignation, rather than trying to delude myself into hope. It seems beyond unlikely to me that the show would take such an abrupt turn into a different ship after all they have invested into Mileven.
You make such a good point about the three seasons of development. Abandoning all of that would just be really poor writing, if nothing else? It would also make no sense whatsoever for Mike's character. He's been so devoted to El forever, and sorry to be blunt, but we've seen him defend her against and prioritise her above everyone and everything in the show, including Will, and including mind flaying monsters. If there's one thing that's been consistent with Mike's character it's that he loves and adores El.

no but the most unrealistic thing about jtv to me (the telenovela with secret triplets and evil lesbian stepmothers building an army of people with plastic surgery and a pregnant virgin discovering her favourite telenovela star is actually her father and i could go on) is that the most bland ass entitled annoying as shit mediocre white cop guy michael cordero from the first season magically grew into a butterfly and became the swoonworthiest most caring adorable boyfriend one season later and i love that development so much about him i wish it happened in real life too:'(

I do really love Jane the virgin but honestly a few times the “fight for your love” theme felt more like pressing the person and it just felt very off
Like after Rafael kisses Jane and she multiple times is like “no I felt nothing” and then he starts whispering in her ear and talking about sex, like that felt a lot more like pressuring her instead of “oh romance he loves me sooo much!!”
And then when Jane breaks things off with Michael-Jason but Rafael has been pulling away, taking anti depressants, and also makes it clear that he doesn’t want to be with Jane anymore because he can’t trust her, that once again felt a lot more like pressure
It’s mainly those two times but there might have been others. And it’s really upsetting because those are both very important to Jane and Rafael ending up together
This show would have benefited if the rest of season 5 was focused on Jane moving on and finding peace in loving herself and then maybe season 6 she’d have another love interest, or they could have just ended it with Jane loving herself and the “love story” being about family love and the three Villanueva women
