Time for more of the Trollan show "what if" ideas! I have higher authority done, but there's an authority even higher than them... While the ruling class of Trolla is top tier in terms of government, there's still one branch that outclasses all, and it has nothing to do with ruling powers or politics. A culture that runs on magic needs ruling on magic, and that's where The Crimson Council come into play. Measuring the flows of magic, collecting the rules of magic, they're the ones that help bind magic to the lands. However, this recent Cosmic Storm has thrown a few things out of whack. Namely, they don't understand how this slipped past them, which is starting to shake up the doubts of the people. They are on good rapports with Montork, and still leave a space open if he ever wants to join... Blayzam the Clever is the de-facto leader of the Council. The eldest of the members, and maybe even one of the eldest of all Trollans, despite his log of magic and spells, he is unfortunately a stickler for the traditional. New spells and ideas should go through the Council first. Technology is an evil that shouldn't be tapped into. Alternative ideas for magic are ridiculous. For a while, this was thought of as law in Trolla, and pushed by the council. However, with the combination of the Cosmic Storm and the sides of both good and evil trying new things with technology, more and more Trollans have been taking these unofficial rules into question, including, much to his chagrin, the other members of the Council. While he thankfully doesn't have veto power, he's still unwilling to be the ones attempting these new things. Cordovan the Caring is more focused on the side of empathy in magic over the power of it. The grandmother of Snoob (on his mother's side), she understands what it's like to have family in different tiers and tracks of magic. She is ridiculously proud of her grandson, and hopes the best for him through his studies in the Academy. Ironically, this praise and care is actually hurting Snoob's self esteem more. Having such praise in such a high position just makes him nervous, which bungles his abilities more and causes him to doubt his actual abilities, thus keeping him in tracks that he's not passionate about, just because they're "big and important". Him telling this to his grandmother would save a lot of trouble, but he's too scared to do so. That, and the fact that Cordovan still harbors a bit of a crush on Montork from their younger days just embarrasses Snoob, thus making their relationship a bit awkward, as much as they love each other. Amaranth the Sharp has always felt like she was a background character. Not that she minds. She didn't get her eye for detail by being front and center. Instead of the big and important parts of magic, she prefers to pour over the smaller pieces that no one wishes to talk about. A lot of times, these smaller pieces lead to information about the bigger ones. Because of looking at the smaller details, along with how they connect with things, she is the most open for change of the Council. She's willing to see how new abilities could work or how technology could integrate with magic. This has secretly made her the favorite of the Council among a majority of citizens, but she nor the citizens have dared to tell this to Blayzam. Because of this, she's content to just sit in the background with her studies, her smoke hat idly puffing away.
