just finished sonic adventure :D
#sadx but with mods to restore dreamcast graphics and stages#i downloaded an iso of the 2004 pc release from the internet archive#idk what to say abt the game though. good game. i love tails :)#also it turns out my controller was fine!#i tried to play sonic adventure through flycast#for some reason the emulator had a drift to it?#the controller drift that i thought i had was not present when i played sadx pc#yeah. tikal was cool too#also one of the songs has a melody that made me think i was about to listen to a pillows song everytime it played#my favorite sections were knuckles’ stages#it feels great to control him#gamelog

Propaganda under the cut (beware of potential spoilers!!)
Agnes:
Agnes Montague was crafted as the messiah of the cult of the lightless flame who worship The Desolation (all the destruction of fire but none of the light and the warmth). To make way for her arrival 5 square acres of forest were burned to the ground and her mother was set on fire as she went into labor. For all her life, Agnes's skin was scalding hot, leaving burns on everyone who touched her. The ultimate end goal of the cult was to bring about the Scoured Earth, bringing The Desolation into reality so it could feed on people's fears of it until the end of time.
Blaze:
She's a princess from another dimension, what is not to love? She's literally girls who say tch. Sometimes her fire is purple??? Like come on she's cool as hell. She's a 14 year old kitty cat. Waugh I love her so much.

do you know how to program sound synthesis? i had just gotten interested in learning and i saw you post about a 8 bit something
the zilog z80 yeah ^.^ pure data is great as a start, sound simulator has good some slow tempo tutorials on youtube. supercollider is great too but a lot of the things that you can do in pure data were already pre built in supercollider so PD would be better to work with if this is all new to you since you are left to do the work yourself. you can look up mutable instruments to see some cool projects (RIP it was closed 2 years ago but it was archived), there are plenty of tutorials for making soft synths in C/C++, you can also check out sonic pi if you are interested in live coding

Sorry no Omega this time, assume he was out doing something cool. Ended up kinda doing both prompts though the second one is more tangentially related. Also got so inspired when drawing this that I wrote something right after finishing it???
So uh, if you're interested in Rouge taking care of a non-verbal Shadow and using some sign language feel free to read that under the cut. This will technically be my first published fan writing and I did not go back and reread it so it might be a lil rough in some areas.

It had taken over an hour to comb through all the mats in Tails’ fur, but when they were finally done it proved to be time well spent. His coat still wasn’t in the best shape it could have been—Sonic knew very well what healthy fox fur looked and felt like, and the dull, rough nature of this Tails’ fur was not it—but when he was finally clean of the grease and oil and no longer had matted clumps of fur peppering him, Tails looked a far sight better than he had even an hour ago. His fur wasn’t shiny, but it was clean, and Sonic no longer had to worry about him having mange or any other funky skin condition.
By comparison, their campsite was much easier to pack up. Sonic rolled both sleeping mats into one and secured them to the bottom of the backpack that the mayor had given him the day before. The backpack itself was just big enough to carry the cooking pot, the uneaten dried meat and fruits, and both water canteens. When the campfire was fully extinguished with no lingering cinders, Sonic slung the backpack over his shoulders, and then turned to Tails. “All right. I’m gonna have to carry you.”
Tails’ ears flattened against his head, and he took a step back. “Why?”
“You’re not used to supersonic speed, and I don’t want to give you whiplash.” Sonic opened his arms, and when Tails didn't close the distance between them, he sighed. “It’ll be over in the blink of an eye, I promise. You’ll barely have time to feel your feet leave the ground before I’m setting you down again. I just don’t want you to get hurt.”
“Where are we even going?” Tails countered, and Sonic dropped his arms to his sides. “Are you taking me back?”
“No. Never.” If possible, Tails’ shoulders drooped even more, his tails lying flat on the grass. Sonic pushed the urge to demand why Tails would even want to go back down low. “We’re going to a city—Seaside City. It’s a cool place. Ever been there?”
“No.”
“Then this will be a new adventure for you. Adventures are fun. You like adventures, right?”
“Not real—”
“Great! C’mon, then.” Sonic scooped Tails up in a bridal carry before he could protest, one arm under Tails’ knees, the other supporting his neck. Tails was stiff in his arms, discomfort radiating off him. “Let’s blow this joint.”

[I like the harmona. I enjoy it when fey aren't just pretty humanoids with pointy ears or horns, and a hummingbird that deals sonic damage is a cool mechanical niche. I could see these being excellent as allied NPCs as well as being a cool fight, and they would slot very well into the Kingmaker or Ironfang Invasion APs. A harmona with the blighted fey template would probably be terrifying.]

This creature appears as a glimmering blue hummingbird, moving so quickly that they eye has a hard time following it. A faint, high pitched whine surrounds it as it buzzes by, and its eyes have a canny look about them.
Harmonas are tiny fey creatures easily mistaken for hummingbirds to the untrained eye. They are found primarily in the First World, where they serve fey nobility as entertainers, scouts and spies. A harmona is constantly on the move, flitting from place to place. They fuel this constant rapid activity with sugar. Nectar is their traditional diet, and most harmonas live in places with ample flowering plants. They readily eat candy, pastries and sweet drinks as well.
Harmonas would rather talk or flee than fight, but they are dangerous if provoked. A harmona’s beak strikes with the force of a shortsword, and worse, carries a powerful sonic charge. The fey can beat its wings in patterns that create sonic vibrations, capable of pushing enemies away or knocking them to the ground. Few harmonas are willing to fight to the death, and so they typically make a break for it once foes are suitably battered and disoriented.
A harmona will happily converse with creatures that it comes across, as long as they are treated with respect. Harmonas have genius level intellects, and find being seen as a mere bird to be a grave insult. Attempting to capture or cage a harmona is a sure invitation to a lesson delivered with sonic damage. Mortals seeking to gain a harmona’s favor can often do so by allowing it to taste some exotic dessert or other sweet it has never tried before. Relying on that bribe can be risky, however; the fey creatures have been occasionally known to bankrupt indulgent mortals with demands for ever more elaborate comestibles.

Special Abilities
Flit Back (Ex) As an immediate action once per round, a harmona can fly 10 feet without provoking an attack of opportunity. It may use this ability in response to another creature entering its square or entering an adjacent square.
Insightful Defense (Ex) A harmona adds its Wisdom modifier to its Armor Class as an insight bonus. It retains the bonus when flat-footed, but not when it is stunned or unconscious.
Stun (Su) A creature that takes sonic damage from a harmona’s gore attack must succeed a DC 21 Fortitude save or be stunned for 1 round. The save DC is Constitution based.
Subsonic Hum (Su) As a standard action, a harmona can beat its wings to create a 15 ft. radius burst centered on itself.
