AJ was born as a result of an ongoing affair that her mother had behind her husband’s back. When AJ was born and her mother’s husband found out, he immediately divorced her and left his family behind. For the first few years of AJ’s life, she was raised by her mother who split her time between her apartment where she took care of her older daughter Eve and AJ’s father’s apartment where she took care of AJ. She was technically also raised by her father, since she lived in his apartment, but he was barely around. It wasn’t until she was around four years old, and her mother just stopped showing up, that her father even tried to put any effort into raising her. Even then, he did a pretty terrible job of it. He was an addict and he worked odd jobs to put food on the table or get money to feed his addiction, but he never could hold down an actual career. And, to make matters worse, he never even wanted a kid, so AJ’s presence in his apartment never did anything but annoy him. As she started to grow up, his resentment for her to grew and he became emotionally and verbally abusive to her. For a while, that was as far as things got and AJ could usually escape by locking herself in her room until his anger died down.
But things changed one day when AJ was nine years old. Usually her father would leave her money if he was going to be gone for a while, but he forgot to on this particular day. By the time evening came around, AJ had already eaten the few bits of food she could find in the fridge and she was starting to get hungry, so she stole some money out of her father’s nightstand. She snuck down to the corner store, bought herself some food, and returned the change all before her dad came back home. But when he came back the next morning, he immediately noticed that some money was missing. He had been drinking and he was already having a terrible day, so this was the last straw for him. He stormed into AJ’s room and started to throw her around and before he realized what he was doing he had thrown her through the window. The glass broke and cut up her face, but she was lucky they lived on the first floor. She landed on the sidewalk, managed to stand up, and just started running. She didn’t stop until a cop approached her and took her to the hospital. She told them everything that happened, they sent someone to arrest her father, and someone from CPS came to talk to her. They tried contacting her mother, but she said she wanted nothing to do with AJ and willingly terminated her parental rights. With her father going to prison and with her having no other living family, AJ was placed in a group home until they could find her a better placement.
AJ stayed in that group home for several months, during which she ran away on more than one occasion, before she was finally moved into an actual foster home. After a year in this foster home, her father was released from prison and a CPS worker came to talk to her. She claimed that her father’s rights technically hadn’t been terminated and that he still had a chance to get her back if he proved he was clean and he wouldn’t pose a threat to her again. AJ ran away from her foster home that night. They found her and brought her back and this began the cycle of AJ being bounced between half a dozen foster homes. Sometimes her father would try to visit her and she would run to get away, and sometimes she ran away just because she could. Then, the summer before AJ started high school, she was placed with a new family. They were the first family not to force her to visit with her father, so she decided to stay. No longer busy with the constant bouncing between foster homes, AJ could finally just do things she enjoyed. She tried a dozen different hobbies until she realized she liked skateboarding and that she really enjoyed hacking. She got really good with computers and, one day during her sophomore year, she hacked into the school’s system to play a prank. They realized it was her and she got sent to detention where she met Peter Parker for the first time. They became good friends after that first meeting and, little by little, AJ realized she was falling for him.

Wilford Warfstache x reader

A/n: I'm so pumped to write this, it's gonna fry your eyes out!! CAUTION ⚠️

Y/n sat at her desk staking the papers she threw all over just an hour before. She stood up, crossed her arms and leaned against her desk. Y/n stared at a picture on her wall, it was of Wilford and her. They were a couple once, before he killed six men and decided to book a flight and leave the country. That was four years ago, since then she tracked him to Adelaide Australia, then to Liverpool England, then Dublin Ireland, and now he finally ends up in Y/n's home town of Springfield Illinois. She moved back there just after he left her, Y/n got a job as an investigator and began searching for him. Her friend Peggy told her to let it go, and that she was getting to obsessed with the case but Y/n didn't listen.
A beep came from her computer, she looked at the screen. It showed her DNA, she had scanners in doorways of bars, grocery stores, malls, movie theaters, clubs. And the one that showed looked familiar, Y/n shoved her hand into her desk drawer and pulled out a paper of DNA scans. She found an exact match to the one on her screen, the name underneath....Wiford Warfstache!
She looked at the location...
"Disco city?" She asked herself. "Why the fuck would he be there?"

Y/n arrived at her destination, she sneered at the sight of the building.
"What a fuckin dive." She said.
Y/n walked to the door and went inside, she was stopped by a bouncer. He grabbed her shoulders and turned her to him.
"Excuse me Miss, but there's a dress code here and you're not wearing the right outfit...sorry can't let you in." He said.
Y/n held up her badge...
"SCPD, official police business. I'm gonna have to ask you to step aside, unless you wanna be placed in handcuffs and your ass thrown in the back of a police car for interfering in an investigation."
His eyes went wide, and he went back to the room from once he came. Y/n walked into the party, she looked around for Wilford but there was no sign of him. She suddenly heard the music crank up and here he came, two girls on either side of him. He danced out from back stage, he busted a few moves to the disco music. Y/n looked at him examining his outfit, he was wearing a light pink shirt, gold pants and-..."
"Please tell me that's a wig." She grumbled to herself.
Just as she said it, he spun and swiftly took it off and threw it into the audience. Y/n had enough, she pointed her gun into the air and fired three rounds, The music stopped and so did the dancing.
"If you wish to live! You will step back away from me! I don't like to be crowded!" She yelled.
Everybody did as ordered and stepped back...
"Much better." Y/n said. "Wilford Warfstache, you are here by under arrest for the murder of Jonathan, Leslie, Thomas, Ames, Mike, and Joseph Carson. Anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law."
Wilford stepped down from the stage and slowly walked towards the woman claiming his guilt.
"Step into the light, Miss..uh-"
"Miss (Y/n) (Y/L/N)." She said as the light hit her face.
Wilford's eyes went wide and his jaw dropped...
"Y/n?" He asked. "It's been-"
"Four fuckin years to the day, and I'm placing you under arrest." She pulled out a taser and pulled the trigger. The prongs hit him in the neck and he fell to the floor. Y/n electrocuted him until he was unconscious.
"Why did you do that?" A woman asked.
"Let's just say, he resisted arrested."

Wilford opened his eyes, rubbing his neck he looked over at Y/n who was looking at a wall full of criminals, she dragged her fingers down the picture of Wilford. A sudden smile hit his face, he knew she still loved him. He played it off with a groan of pain...
"Ahhh, did you have to tase me?" He asked.
"No." She turned to him and leaned against the desk. "I just wanted too."
"Why? I've never done anything to you."
That hit Y/n like Kevin hit Marv with those bricks, she charged at him gripping the arm rests of his chair.
"Lets examine that claim for a moment shall we? You kill six men, right?" She asked.
Wilford nodded his head...
"And then you flee the fuckin county to Australia!"
"Y/n, I didn't know what me killing those men would do to you. I didn't want to hurt you, so I left."
Y/n spun around in anger and slammed her fist on her desk..
"You didn't want to hurt me? What did you think that did? Do you think I just was all giddy and thought, oh yeah he's great, all is just fuckin dandy!?".
Wilford stood and went to walk closer to her but she pulled out her gun...
"You're gonna shoot me?" He asked.
"Willy, do you know how much pain you caused when you left me? I was alone in this world, I cried myself to sleep every night for three fuckin year. And on the fourth, I was over you. It took me that long to be done with you. And now here you are, you show up in my city, dancing to fuckin dip shit disco music."
"Are you?" He asked.
"Am I what?"
"Are you really over me?" He came closer so that the gun was pressed against his chest.
"Or do you still imagine me between your thighs? do you still crave my touch? My lips trailing kisses down your neck, hmm?"
She closed her eyes trying not to think about it..
"Aw, there it is. See? You still love me." He said.
Y/n shook her head and backed up until she was sitting on her desk.
"No, I don't." She whispered, tears threatening to run down her cheeks.
Wilford knew he had her in his grasp, all he needed to do was hit her weak spot a little harder.
He came closer so he was between her legs, Wilford then slowly took the gun from her hand and placed it beside her.
"I know deep down, you need me. And I need you, Y/n." He whispered.
Y/n could feel his warmth as he closed the gap between them, he pressed his lips too hers. Y/n wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him closer.
Slowly pulling away he rested his forehead on hers, he saw tears running down her face. Wilford wiped them away and pulled her into a warm tender hug.
"I'm so sorry." She quietly sobbed. "I love-"
"Shh shh shh." He interrupted, pressing a finger to her lips. "We show our love by actions and not words. Love could be spoken by almost anyone, but it's our actions that really define it. But I love you too."
"You're my Willy Worphine." She whispered.
"Mmm, you're my drug too Kitten."

Fictional Videogame Stills
In the late 1980s I was making paintings about computer games. In January 1991 I bought an Amiga computer and made a series of fictional videogame stills using Deluxe Paint II. I photographed them straight from the screen as there was no other way to output them that I knew of apart from through a very primitive daisy wheel printer where they appeared as washed out dots.
The effect of the photographs perfectly reproduced the highly pixellated, raised needlepoint effect of the Amiga screen image. Conceptually this means of presentation was also appropriate in that it made it seem like I had gone into a videogame arcade and photographed the games there, lending authenticity to the fiction.
The first seven works on this page form a series titled, ‘Q. Would you recognise a Virtual Paradise?’
Many of these works were shown in London at the Edward Totah Gallery in March 1992 (view installation) and later that year at the Exeter Hotel in Adelaide, Australia. In 1995 the 'Q. Would you recognise a Virtual Paradise?’ series was shown in London at the Royal Festival Hall in the exhibition It’s a Pleasure, curated by Leah Kharibian.
Recent venues: Somerset House, London, 2018 view installation ; Akron Art Museum, Ohio, USA 2019 and tour; Moderna Museet, Stockholm, Sweden, 2019/20 view installation
The original Amiga floppy disks which stored the image files are corrupt, but the photographic art works remain.
