It's interesting to see how what happened to Clem clearly impacted Cassian's current philosophies.

Clem died for nothing. Clem died because he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. He died because he tried to stop some rebels from fighting back in a way that wouldn't really do anything and might just make things worse. Because the Empire didn't care that Clem didn't agree with them, they just saw him standing near them and killed him anyway.

Cassian doesn't want to die for nothing. Cassian's just trying to save as many of the people he cares about as he can and go unnoticed.

He's not like Jyn, he's not ignoring the atrocities the Empire commits. He just doesn't believe that one person can make a real difference without causing more harm along the way.

Today is the day I realized the significance of Cassian's long, brown jacket worn in the Andor season finale. It's a blend of jackets worn by Maarva and Clem, but also has design elements unique to Cassian. This level of detail is one of the many reasons I adore this brilliant show.
