Anyone who menstruates knows what it’s like to be caught without the supplies you need & the unanticipated arrival of your period. Despite the fact that toilet paper & paper towels are provided in restrooms (both products that allow people to manage to bodily functions) period products are not. Anyone who’s researched period poverty knows 64% of women struggle to afford products they need annually & hundreds of thousands of students leave class early or miss school (1/5 menstruating students in the USA) because of a lack of access to products. 1/5 women in OK & KY experience period poverty. 1/6 women in TX, NY & MI experience this. 1/7 women in WY, CA & IL. With girls starting their periods as young as 9 or 10 yrs old & this being a monthly struggle, imagine how much school they may miss by college! College, where 14.2% of menstruating students experienced period poverty in the last year & 10% of menstruating students experience it every month. XII - Primus Apex
Je suis devenu fasciné par Trithème et par ces deux livres en particulier. Stéganographie semble être son œuvre la plus célèbre. Un livre en trois volumes qui semble porter sur la magie, plus précisément sur l'utilisation des esprits pour communiquer sur de longues distances.
J'ai trouvé Polygraphie tout aussi fascinante. Il s'agit avant tout d'un traité sur la cryptographie, l'art d'écrire ou de résoudre des codes et des chiffrements. Trithème discute de diverses méthodes de cryptage et de déchiffrement des messages, ainsi que de l'importance du secret et de la sécurité dans les communications. Il s’agit également de la plus ancienne source connue de l’alphabet des sorcières (l’alphabet thébain).
Apparemment, certains pensent que les deux livres sont en fait un seul ouvrage présenté en deux parties : la première est métaphysique et assez théorique (comportant un traité complet sur "l'angélologie"), la seconde est plus pratique et sert à coder des messages.
En relisant Nuit Sans Fin après la conversation avec Snow, j’ai remarqué pour la première fois les similitudes thématiques entre ces poèmes et Stéganographie en particulier. Voilà, le dernier poème dans le livre:

Le vocabulaire utilisé dans ces poèmes était bizarre et j'ai dû chercher plusieurs mots, mais le thème était clair : une description des connexions spirituelles et célestes. En même temps, j'avais lu les poèmes je ne sais combien de fois et à eux seuls, ils ne produisaient pas une voie à suivre.
Je me demandais s’il y avait un lien entre tous ces livres de Mars Éditions. Je me suis plongé dans les nombreux chiffres cachés dans les livres de Trithème et j'ai pu heureusement en éliminer rapidement certains (l'Ave Maria, par exemple). J'ai trouvé quelques articles qui expliquaient en termes plus simplifiés comment fonctionnaient les incantations pour les esprits Padiel, Pamersiel, Camuel etc.
J'ai commencé avec le chiffre expliqué dans l'article et comme décrit, j'ai conservé chaque seconde lettre de chaque deuxième mot.

Encore plus de charabia que les poèmes, même. Ça aurait été trop facile si ça avait marché, je suppose. J'ai essayé l'autre chiffre avec le même niveau de succès. Rien n'a marché. Bon vieux Trithème, encore une impasse.
Quelque part au fond, j’avais l’impression que non, c'était pas une impasse. Il y avait un lien ici que je ne pouvais simplement pas voir, beaucoup de choses que je ne pouvais pas encore expliquer. J'ai dû approfondir. J'ai commandé à la fois Stéganographie et Polygraphie chez Mars Éditions. Une séance classique de shopping nocturnes.
J'avais hâte que les livres arrivent. Le jeu d'attente commence.

Screenwriter Alex Garland's debut as director has a lot going for it: a tightly provocative and suspenseful Oscar-nominated screenplay (also by Garland), a superb trio of stars, and special effects that don't overwhelm the story. The effects won Oscars for Andrew Whitehurst, Paul Norris, Mark Williams Ardington, and Sara Bennett, overcoming competitors with far more flash and dazzle: Mad Max: Fury Road (George Miller), The Martian (Ridley Scott), The Revenant (Alejandro González Iñárritu), and Star Wars: Episode VII -- The Force Awakens (J.J. Abrams). For once, special effects were kept on the human scale, largely to present Ava (Alicia Vikander) as the ambiguous cross between human being and robot on which the screenplay's exploration of the ethics of artificial intelligence depends. Ava (whose name is a variant spelling of "Eve") is the creation of Nathan (Oscar Isaac), a superwealthy tech genius who made his fortune with an Internet search engine not named Google, which he uses as the software for his experiment. He lures a young coder, Caleb (Domhnall Gleeson), to his isolated retreat on the pretext that he wants Caleb to apply the Turing test on Ava. Nathan's unstated aims are far more extensive, and Caleb sees through them quickly. But neither of them is quite as quick on the uptake as Ava. Gleeson is convincingly geeky as Caleb, and Isaac, in yet another performance that establishes him as one of our most chameleonic actors, evokes the self-absorption and questionable ethics of any number of tech billionaires. But it's Vikander who steals the honors with Ava's sly mixture of naïveté and nascent cunning. The only thing I can fault Ex Machina for is a conventional sci-fi ending that feels out of keeping with the intelligent questioning of the middle part of the script and seems too much like a setup for a sequel.

Vous pouvez également répondre à ChatGPT en mode conversation, auquel cas il vous fournira des informations supplémentaires. Lorsque vous avez terminé, vous pouvez cliquer sur le bouton "Réinitialiser le sujet" dans la barre latérale gauche pour revenir à la page d'accueil et commencer une nouvelle conversation. N'oubliez pas que ChatGPT ne se souvient d'aucune des conversations que vous avez eues lors de la session précédente. Quel est le rapport entre un schéma d’armure, utilisé comme modèle pour la réalisation d’un objet textile et l’affichage numérique d’un écran d’ordinateur ? A priori, ces objets font partie de deux champs diamétralement opposés, aux pratiques, visées et enjeux totalement divergents.
Je m’étais déjà intéressée au rapprochement étymologique des termes texte et textile dans le cadre de mon premier mémoire, sans pour autant être arrivée au terme de mes ambitions. Je cherchais à établir un lien entre le domaine du design graphique et celui de la production textile et pour ce faire je m’étais posée la question de l’abandon de la page. Quand le texte quitte le support papier auquel on l’associe communément, cela ne dépasse généralement pas la transposition de l’imprimé à l’écran. Et je m’étais donc demandée quels autres types d’objets matériels, notamment textiles, pouvaient être amenés à exister si le livre n’était plus l’unique réceptacle du texte.
Or l’analogie entre le tissage et l’écriture est extrêmement riche et je n’en avais pas encore pris conscience à ce moment. C’est en lisant un article de Claire Kail, paru dans le deuxième magazine Tools Tisser, To weave datant de septembre 2022, que mon intérêt pour le sujet a resurgi avec vivacité.
L’autrice est une designer et chercheuse française, diplômée de l’école nationale supérieure de création industrielle depuis 2020. Claire Kail concentre sa recherche sur les textiles et leur dialectique propre entre gestes d’écriture, codage et tissage. Aujourd’hui, elle poursuit son étude à la fois théorique et pratique : elle écrit des articles et donne notamment des conférences (la dernière en date intitulée a quick history of textile, s’est tenue à l’école nationale des arts et du design de Karlsruhe en Allemagne, dans le cadre d’un colloque sur le textile) mais développe également différentes manières de coder du texte, traduits en motifs tissés.
L’article Langage du tissage, The language of weaving, entend nous démontrer l’existence de liens entre le tissage et l’informatique et nous expliquer ce que ces points communs peuvent nous apprendre sur le savoir faire propre au textile. La chercheuse explique dans un premier temps que le tissage repose sur un geste technique d'entrecroisement des fils. De façon orthogonale, les fils à angle droit que constituent respectivement la chaîne et la trame sont entrecroisés. Invoquant des principes mathématiques complexes, le tissage est composé d’une structure, aussi appelée armure. Cette dernière constitue l’architecture du tissu et permet l’élaboration de motifs.
Par la suite, elle nous expose le principe de mise en carte. En effet, pour se représenter mentalement la forme à tisser avec précision et exactitude, une matrice a été inventée. « Ce schéma peut être déjà considéré comme un algorithme, amorçant l’idée de programmation informatique ». Ces schémas constitués de carrés noirs et blancs ont un but pratique mais ils mettent également en évidence et rendent visible la logique binaire inhérente au tissage. Ce premier système mécanique programmable avec carte perforée a été inventé par Joseph Jacquard en 1801. Son principe de motifs par tissage a constitué une grande source d’inspiration notamment pour des ingénieurs, et c’est à ce moment précis que le lien de parenté entre tissage et informatique est établi car il a notamment été utilisé comme modèle par Ada Lovelace considérée comme pionnière de la programmation informatique.
Enfin, Claire Kail conclut en élargissant son raisonnement et en précisant que le tissage va au-delà de la question du langage informatique. « Le travail du fil semble dès lors être un système qui cristallise la pensée, une écriture […] Bien au-delà de ses fonctions utilitaires, le tissage a contribué à diffuser les symboles, les savoirs et à déployer nos civilisations. » Le tissage et plus largement le maniement des fils sont des inventions antérieures à celles de l’écriture et des alphabets. Utilisé par exemple, par la civilisation Inca pour transmettre des messages et remplir des fonctions de comptabilité, nous sommes en droit de nous demander si le tissage peut être considéré comme un langage.

Petit coup de gueule parce que bon, ça me gave mdr.
Pourquoi est-ce que quand les admins d’un forum font attention à coder les textes pour les rendre facilement lisibles (et donc plus accessibles), certains ressentent le besoin de réduire la police de plusieurs pixels (je parle pas de 13px à 12px mais vraiment de 14 à 10) et de diviser l’interlignage par 2 ? Et je ne vous dis même pas quand en plus le texte devient plus clair.
Ce n’est pas pour faire joli qu’on code un texte plus grand, avec un interlignage assez haut et une couleur qui contraste suffisamment avec le fond (même si, perso, je trouve ça plus joli que les textes petits et serrés mais bon). C’est pour que ce soit lisible.
Et pas que, d’ailleurs. Je ne sais pas pour les autres neuroatypies mais pour une personne ayant un tdah (je parle en connaissance de cause puisque c’est mon cas) c’est juste horrible et insupportable à lire. Ca m’énerve, littéralement, parce qu’on me force à me concentrer. Enfin je ne sais pas comment vous expliquer. C’est fatiguant, énervant, frustrant.
Maintenant, je ne vais plus me gêner. Si on me fait un rp comme ça, je demanderai à retirer le code qui rend tout illisible, parce que je ne vais pas me fatiguer et me peter les yeux pour un code (moche, en plus).

Can I sign up for more than one position?
Yes! You can sign up for however many positions you feel comfortable with.
If I want to participate as a writer, how much do I have to write?
The minimum word count is 5k for one-shots and 12k for multi-chaptered fics.
Can I Co-write a fic?
Sure! We, at the tuabb, will not be assigning co-authors, but if you and a friend want to sign up together, just let us know in your sign up forms!
How do I estimate my wordcount?
We mostly ask that you do your best. You probably won’t be able to estimate exactly. We do ask that you over- rather than under-estimate, though, so that your betas have a better idea what they’re getting into!
Is there anything I’m not allowed to write?
We’re not allowing incest (includes shipping of any of the kids who share a guardian; aka allison/luthor, or any of the HargreevesxHargreeves) Also nothing that would fall under ‘plot what plot/porn without plot’ tagging. No glorifying of unhealthy relationships (abuse, pedophilia/age difference where one was a minor, grooming, etc.). We are also not allowing any romantic or sexual relationships with Five, Harlan or Claire, as they are minors.
What about Diego/Lila?
We are allowing Diego/Lila, but only in a situation in which they are not considered family, whether that is chosen/found family or adopted family.
To clarify, if you are writing Lila as if she is going to be family to the Hargreeves in anyway (excluding marriage), there should be no romantic pairing between Lila and any of the Hargreeves.
And what about Five/Dolores?
We are also allowing canon representations of Five/Dolores as the only exception to the no shipping Five rule.
However. Do not humanize Dolores. Again, this is a canon representation, therefore she is a mannequin and a mannequin only.
Is Explicit content allowed?
The short answer: no! At least, not sexually explicit content! We’re allowing mature themes/violence/sexual content, but nothing that would be considered explicit!
What about crossovers?
Crossovers are fine, so long as they focus on the umbrella academy characters!

The sound of K-pop is in the air as we enjoy the last few minutes before the season begins and we meet the Houseguests for the very first time.
Julie is rocking it in Red, and the front of the house has a purple and pink vibe, and the “windows” are different.
