I was tagged by @pinkfadespirit, thank you! <3
Three ships: Dorian Pavus/Trevelyan (DA), Patroclus/Achilles (The Song Of Achilles), Trevor/Alucard/Sypha (Castlevania)
Last song I listened to: You and Whose Army? by Radiohead
Currently watching: I’ve recently started watching Banana Fish (I know, I’m always late to all the cool parties) and uh?? It is so good?? I’m only two episodes in, but damn. It tackles some really hard topics right off the bat and I’m so here for all the angst and the heartbreak. I really hope it doesn’t disappoint.
Currently reading: Circe by Madeline Miller, and I just finished reading Destiny’s Edge by @in-arlathan for like the zillionth time because it’s just *muah* chef’s kiss!
How’s it going? Tired, but good! I somehow managed to finish the next chapters for both my Patrochilles fic High Flying Birds and my Dorian/Trevelyan A World With You today, and those two were a huge tick off my to-do list, heh. The HFB one should be up later today or tomorrow, but the AWWY needs a fair bit of editing as it’s quite talky and feelsy, and those usually take me the longest to get through. Other than that, I’m just reallyyyyy looking forward to the weekend!
Tagging forward to @in-arlathan, @oftachancer, @midnightprelude, @tevivinter, @nug-juggler, @strongsong117, @fancytrinkets and anyone else who would like to do this!

Fantasy for you: a reading list
The Charmed Wife by Olga Grushin
A sophisticated literary fairy tale for the twenty-first century, in which Cinderella, thirteen years after her marriage, is on the brink of leaving her supposedly perfect life behind. Cinderella married the man of her dreams--the perfect ending she deserved after diligently following all the fairy-tale rules. Yet now, two children and thirteen and a half years later, things have gone badly wrong and her life is far from perfect. One night, fed up, she sneaks out of the palace to get help from the Witch who, for a price, offers love potions to disgruntled housewives. But as the old hag flings the last ingredients into the cauldron, Cinderella doesn't ask for a love spell to win back her Prince Charming. Instead, she wants him dead. Endlessly surprising, wildly inventive, and decidedly modern, The Charmed Wife weaves together time and place, fantasy and reality, to conjure a world unlike any other. Nothing in it is quite what it seems, and the twists and turns of its magical, dark, swiftly shifting paths take us deep into the heart of what makes us unique, of romance and marriage, and of the very nature of storytelling.
The Vanishing by Jayne Ann Krentz
Forty years ago in the small town of Fogg Lake, "The Incident" occurred: an explosion in the cave system that released unknown gases, causing peculiar effects on its residents, such as strange visions and ominous voices. Not wanting the government to get involved, they chalked it up to the hallucinogenic effects of mushrooms. Little did they know these effects would linger through the generations.... Residents Catalina Lark and Olivia Dayton have been best friends for years and own an investigation firm together, using what they call the "other sight" to help with their business. When Olivia goes missing, Cat frantically begins the search for her alone when the town does nothing about it. When scientist Slate Trevelyan shows up, she has no choice but to accept his help even though there's something about him she just can't trust. The duo discovers someone is hunting the two witnesses of a murder in Fogg Lake fourteen years ago—the very one Cat and Olivia witnessed as teens, one that they couldn't prove happened. Cat and Slate's search for Olivia takes them down a rabbit hole that is far more dangerous and mysterious than they ever expected, and with a killer in their midst, neither of them can foresee who will come out alive.
Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
Piranesi's house is no ordinary building: its rooms are infinite, its corridors endless, its walls are lined with thousands upon thousands of statues, each one different from all the others. Within the labyrinth of halls an ocean is imprisoned; waves thunder up staircases, rooms are flooded in an instant. But Piranesi is not afraid; he understands the tides as he understands the pattern of the labyrinth itself. He lives to explore the house. There is one other person in the house—a man called The Other, who visits Piranesi twice a week and asks for help with research into A Great and Secret Knowledge. But as Piranesi explores, evidence emerges of another person, and a terrible truth begins to unravel, revealing a world beyond the one Piranesi has always known. For readers of Neil Gaiman's The Ocean at the End of the Lane and fans of Madeline Miller's Circe, Piranesi introduces an astonishing new world, an infinite labyrinth, full of startling images and surreal beauty, haunted by the tides and the clouds.
The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
Between life and death there is a library, and within that library, the shelves go on forever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be if you had made other choices . . . Would you have done anything different, if you had the chance to undo your regrets?” A dazzling novel about all the choices that go into a life well lived, from the internationally bestselling author of Reasons to Stay Alive and How To Stop Time. Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?

Testing out a new brush/style of painting w/ my trevelyan oc who’s not the inquisitor. She’s a mage and an assistant to josephine  to help with matters concerning nobility. She’s who I romanced cullen with but tbh she’s too good for him. Her name is Circe Trevelyan and she doesn’t use her magic because she’s terrified of it , and repressed it so she wouldn’t have to go to the circle.

Phoenyx Jae Trevelyan-Araiani
Backstory for Phoenyx, my most in-depth OC for Dragon Age. She is one of the main characters in me and my friends story, The Love That Shook Thedas.
Phoenyx, Nyx for short, is the second youngest of the Trevelyan children. Born in 9:12 Dragon to Altair and Victoria Trevelyan. She was born Corvus Jay and she was to become a Templar like her brother Gawain.
The family is originally from Tevinter, but Altair's father was the Teyrn; ruler of Ostwick. When he passed away, Altair was the heir and took his place as Teyrn. At the time, only Callum and Raven, the first set of twins in the family, were born. After the Twins, came Gawain, then Circe and Corvus, then Aya.
He grew up between two girls, his older (by a few minutes) twin sister Circe and younger sister Aya. Raven, his eldest sister, was already in the Circle when she was born. And his brothers, Gawain and Callum were never home as well, due to one being a Templar and the other the Trevelyan Heir: he was always with their father. They all never had time to play with him.
Before Circe got sent to the Circle, he and his sisters always played dress up, but Corvusliked to wear the dresses a lot more than the other two. His sisters never thought this was a problem and they kept playing, until Altair found them one day and scolded Corvus. He wasn’t allowed to play with his sisters anymore after that. Corvus was only 6. Altair began to teach and train him for the templars despite them stating he would be better off as Brother in the Chantry.
Corvus had to sneak around the fact he never stopped liking wearing dresses and acting like a girl. He would attempt to let his hair grow long but his father would immediately have it chopped off if it reached his jawline. It wasn’t until his 13th birthday that he told his parents that he no longer wanted to be Corvus and that he wanted to be a girl. His father was furious, blaming his first cousin, Dorian, who had recently revealed to his parents that he liked men. (The two were inseparable everytime Victoria’s sister, Aquinea, visited.) Victoria and Alitair were no longer married at this point in time. But they lived together to keep appearances up. When Corvus tells his parents about being a girl, his mother is somewhat accepting but his father downright kicks him out.
Altair doesn't disown him in hopes he’ll come around, but kicks him out with nothing. His second to eldest brother, Gwain, finds this out, does not care about him wanting to be a woman (he himself is a closested gay) and gives him a hefty sum of gold to help Corvus on him travels. Corvus had enough knowledge and skill with a blade to survive on his own.
She was on her own for almost a year until she had made her way to Antiva where she ran into Zervan, a member of the Crows, by trying to steal his coin purse. He liked her spark and took her to the Crow’s headquarters, training her personally. The Crows protested heavily, only training children from a young age. But Zevran persisted and they begrudgingly approved. She went by Cory for years, unsure of what to actually call herself now that she was her own person. It wasn’t until she was made to fight another master to prove her worth. She fell into a fire pit and came out almost untouched, did Zevran give her the name she was meant to have, Phoenyx. Like the mythical firebird, Corvus was reborn that day.
Phoenyx quickly rose through the ranks over the years, making a name for herself. She became a feared assassin in Thedas being at Zevran’s side. Once the 5th Blight hit, Zevran was contracted to kill the remaining Grey Wardens in Ferelden. He asked her to accompany him on the trip but then left her in Denerim while he went to make the kill, with orders to return home if he didn’t come back to Denerim in 5 months time. Those 5 months passed, but she waited a little longer. One day, he showed up in Denerim with the Warden and his party. Phoenyx was not shocked by this in the slightest. Warden Surana offered to help with a list of small tasks that Phoenyx had received while they were in Denerim.
After the Blight was defeated, Zevran and Phoenyx returned home, with a fire in their eyes to take out the leadership of the Crows. With the information they learned from Taliesin before his betrayal, they went to Guili Arainai, who was the head of the Arainai house and 8th Talon. They formulated a plan and put it into motion over the course of the next 10 years.
At some point, the Crows received a contract to kill one Knight-Commander Meredith Stannard in Kirkwall. Phoenyx agreed to the contract, and set sail. She spent more time there than planned, but when she arrived she was not aware of the rebellion being as far along as it was. She had to run reconnaissance before formulating a plan. A plan that never went into motion. However, during her recon, she encounters Raleigh Samson abusing and tormenting Cullen Rutherford over something. Cullen finds him smuggling letters. Cullen threatens to turn him in and Samson punches him. Phoenyx not taking kindly to people being beaten, she jumps between the two. Kicking Samson’s ass before fleeing into the night. Their eyes briefly meet before she takes off. The rebellion went full swing when the mage Anders blew up the Chantry. She felt obliged to help the Hawks. At the end, the Hawks thanked her and she immediately left town.
*Come 9:38 Dragon, Phoenyx was the happiest she'd been in her life. She had found who she thought to be her life partner, Illario Dellamorte, a few years back, she was almost at Talon status, somewhere she thought she'd never be. She had finally found her family.
Though Illario decided one day he wanted nothing to do with her. He said many things to her, but the one that stuck is that she'd never be a real woman. Phoenyx took a downward spiral. She knew he was right. But she had heard of people using blood magic to change themselves before.
So, she found a shady mage who had the abilities she desired. The spell almost worked but it ultimately failed. She was left with male genitalia, but she had a small chest and her body and face shape was more womanly. Phoenyx was however left gravely injured from the process and had to take 4 months to recover. Zevran was the one to find her in The Weyrs.*
The plan to take down the leadership of the Crows went smoothly after that and Zevran was the choice to become first Talon. One last contract for Phoenyx came before she was meant to take her position as second Talon, and that was to assassinate Chancellor Roderick Asignon at the Conclave.
(Anything added inbetween asterisks * are new things that I have forgotten to add) If you have any questions about Phoenyx please feel free to DM me whether on here or discord (info found in me+rules)
