I like how they conveniently forgot to mention that Master Lee is technically a soul shifter too. So if Naksu has to go doesn’t he have to go as well?
Edit: thank you to everyone who replied. I had forgotten that Master Lee didn’t use the alchemy of souls to soul shift so he’s not a threat like Naksu.
But I guess now the issue is whether or not soul shifting is still bad even if there’s a “safe” way to do it because as Park Jin said “if someone powerful has everything they want and is immortal, what will become of this world?” If using dead bodies to live forever is the safe way, then technically speaking no one will ever truly die, and so by that logic, even the safe way is bad.

eating me, eating me, eating me some thoughts of Cha Haein Destruction Monarch and Goto Ryuji Monarch of the Beginning but I'm expanding it:
More Players AU
For context:
There are a lot of players of the system, which was not created by the Architect, (well kinda will explain later) but by the Absolute Being. They can never get rid of the system which makes them fight against each other and see one another as a threat. There are two sides in this story, obviously the Monarchs and the Rulers, but even then they are fragmented in many ways.
You see the war isn't only between the two sides of light and dark but more about the survival of themselves and their species, since they are all tied down to whatever the System says and what it wants. Aka what AB wants.
They only ways to get out of the system are to 1)die, 2)have a succesor, and 3)kill and become the AB.
Of course no one has ever done the third one, but they know it's possible since the System had written it once.
In the fic Earth is more responsible to its chaos as it is the original place to where it all began, all monsters where created and stuff before migrating to their separate realms, taking the mana with them until earth was nothing.
Earth's animals and plants also play a role of equilibrium as they are the only things that cannot be harmed by magic beasts (has an explanation).
The changes to the characters will be:
Baek Yoon-Ho as Beast Monarch
Cha Hae-In as Destruction Monarch
Kanae Tawata as Insect Monarch
Goto Ryuji as the Monarch of Beggining
Lennart Niermann as the Transfiguration Monarch
Hwang Dong Soo as Iron Body Monarch.
The White Flames and Frost Monarchs haven't been decided yet.
However the succesor of White Flames will be Esil in disguise as someone else, for she is the closer to finishing her succession and thus has started to become a full fleshed demon.
After Christopher Reed dies, Lee Ju Hee is chosen as a ruler and becomes a player.
After Jonas dies, the Fifth National Hunter awakens with new powers, so now they are double the danger due to the High regeneration abilities.
Once Go Gun Hee dies, Woo Jin Chul is given the system to get revenge and become the new Brightest Fragment.
The world has been rewund 30 times. The biggest changes that appeared seemed to be on the 29th timeline where Ashborn has finally found a vessel for himself.
Of course so has Antares but it isn't revealed until much later when Cha Hae In and Jin woo have gotten closer.
Other changes that I do want the story to have is:
Permanent character deaths. (Of course the characters will have more screen time but there won't be any time rewind or Jin-Woo being able to revive– at least without some consequences, big consequences. )
Power scales: I don't want for all the other ranks to be completely forgotten so Jin-Woo will have a lot more time to face against all of them. And even then there will also be the players who are on the same level as him at the time, maybe less, maybe more, but he cannot underestimate them and if he let's them live they could also come back to kill him as both get stronger.
Time reversal is gone, this is going to be the last timeline they can use.

Wise words from Hemp Master Lee.

Is someone with great talent inherently dangerous? No. It depends on the guidance OR THE LACK OF IT they get. Jang Wook has great talent, but Naksu is the only one who has ever been willing to teach him - apart from Master Lee, of course.

The Moon
Tumblr media
Movies watched in 2023
Director & Writer: Kim Yong Hwa
Mini-review:
I love space movies, especially when they're well-made, and The Moon pretty much ticks all the boxes for me. Tbh, the story is not original at all, and I feel like we've seen it in many other films over the last decade. Luckily, the director made sure to keep things as engaging and entertaining as possible. On top of that, the production values are fantastic. I have never seen better CGI in a Korean movie, and the sets are just stunning. That being said, the thing that truly carries this movie is the acting. This cast is full of top-notch actors, but the clear standout is Do Kyungsoo. He goes all in with his performance, and he's the main reason why you care about everything that happens. So, to sum up, The Moon offered me all that I wanted from it: a well-acted and enjoyable popcorn movie about space.

Alchemy of Souls. Season 1-2 7/8
Story: 7
Acting: 10
Chemistry: 6-10
Comparable to: Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (kdrama); Ever Night (cdrama)
Oof this is such a hard one to judge. In some aspects I totally love this and other aspects I wanted to throw my remote at my screen. I was more of a season one was ten times better then then season two type of person. For one thing different female leads. Who in their right minds decides to write out Jung So Min and cast someone different! Don’t get me wrong, Go Young Jung is an okay actress, but when you have already shot 20 episodes of a drama with a character and an actress who had an amazing chemistry with the main lead it’s hard to replace it with someone new. Nevertheless that was strike one for me, strike two was the change of pace of everything, it felt draggy and repetitive, the tired old cliche memory loss trope didn’t help either. I did watch season 2 just with the fast forward button, since season one was amazing and I wanted to see how everything would be wrapped up. Was I disappointed slightly, yeah slightly, but overall it was still not bad, season one left a pretty darn good impression.
